If anyone's feeling deprived of football, last night on the BBC iplayer I found the "Milk Cup" within Sport & Football. It has 3 fulls games to watch.

I think that if we were to switch to a 4-5-1/ 4-3-3 then KPB could definatly become a first team player. If we lost Milner but gained Ireland then we'd have central midfield options of Stan, NRC, Sidwell, Delph, Ireland. We can all see that NRC & Sidwell seem to be on their way out aswell. Having Stan, Delph, Ireland & KPB would be decent to rotate.

I wonder what's happening with Kevin-Prince Boateng. He performed well at the WC and was also rated as one of Pompey's best players last year. I'd like to see him at VP and I reckon we could get him for pretty cheap. He's only 23 so still has room to improve. The last bit of news I can find about him was on 26th July when his agent revealed that talks with Genoa had stalled. I reckon that his agent has been informed that a deal could happen but it'll be near the end of the window. I can't see him staying with Pompey.

Your reading comics if you think any of our squad wouldn't go for the money. They are not like fans, its their job and only do it for a set number of years, they dont realise how much money they have and want more, a lot of rich people are like that Gabby for example, wont win the league with Vill anytime soon, he could go to a club double his wages and probably win the league sooner rather than later, he would turn that down just to stay with Villa? No chance. Okay, thanks mate. Next time I want to know exactly what Villa players are thinking I'll ask you.

You reckon Milner is the only greedy word removed at Villa? Dream world. i doubt theres a player that wouldnt move to City, our club or any. No one will turn down the money they can offer. kaka Surely there are a few players who have been affected, first hand, by the transfer of a player to City. Villa players will see Barry going one year, Milner going the next year. They'll have witnessed what a club with too much power can do. Maybe players like Gabby or Albrighton will grow with the team, disliking how City do their business? Not to mention they're local. I'd like to think that we have a few players who value the club that has brought them through the ranks more than a pile of money.

Even though the majority of those kids may not make it further than a Youth set-up, it's encouraging to see that we have so many named in international sides!

Joe Hart has talked about going back out on loan if he's not playing this season. It's very, VERY unrealistic but I wonder whether they'd accept Ireland + Hart for Milner. Would people think that was a good deal or not?

I can't see him singing another contract. It's clear that he wants to go and that he doesn't think his ambitions can be fulfilled at Villa. If he stays then I think he'll get sold for around £18m next summer.

James Milner isn't the type of player to sulk. He was going to move to us a few years back but then that move broke down. He carried on playing for Newcastle and was one of their best players. I'm sure MON and Randy will be happy to miss out on a few million to get another season out of one of our best players - ala Barry 2 seasons ago.

GlastonSpur, it's the media and, seemingly, other clubs who think we have no money. It's not strange to be a Villa fan in August with no new signings. We don't need the money - we'd probably just prefer to sell a few players to lower the wage bill.

Yeah, but it's not Citeh's garden; they just waited for a gardner to finish putting time, effort, and money into growing and nurturing his plot then 1 week before the Chelsea Flower Show offered him an obscene amount of money for it. I'm not sure if this is "against site rules".. I don't think it is as I'm making no profit what-so-ever!! (If it is then delete it Mods!) I have an 09/10 Home Top (Medium) that I bought, wore once and realised doesn't fit (I should have ordered a Small). I got it for around £25 at the end of season sale (off the official site) but I'm now looking to sell it for £10. I'm never going to wear it again so I may as well get some money and buy a Small! It's been washed, only worn once and is in mint condition - obviously. If anyone is interested then send me a PM and I could meet you at VP when the season starts!

Also the fact that he's moaning about selling our best player and then adds "out of the smallest squad in the league" to strengthen his point. Yet surely, if we're selling Milner for £25m+ then we could afford 2 or 3 players, hence enlarging our tiny tiny squad.
