I'd be a bit surprised if we didn't go back in for Popov... unless the fee is stupid he would fit us well... Not sure who else we could go for but as Lambert does he likes to find "gem" players!! I rather like it, it's far far better than years gone by with the harewood's, Heskey's and Jenas' or this world!!

Pleeeeease let this be true... would be a good signing in my eyes anyway got the attributes needed to play at CAM for us and is able to handle himself well so should adapt to the prem easy enough.. =) What sort of fee would popov command ? - Hairy Hands reckons he has £3m tops ? Transfermarkt reckons he's worth around £4.4m and has a contract til end of next season so Kuban either need to tie him down to a new deal or sell him before he can talk to other clubs to leave on a bosman, (might be in the summer they can talk). I'd say a fee in the £3m mark might get him if we offer the right clauses.... Maybe that £3m HH was on about is set just for a Attacking Mid and then the squad is decent until the summer... Who knows =)

Based on current form i doubt any club would want him I was watching him in the WBA game and he just looked a shadow of last season.. Maybe a bit of second season syndrome but if he keeps that up he'll be with us for another year... I'd happily keep him though!! Pretty sure he will snap out of it soon enough, just getting properly up to speed again I hope!

He'd add goals and assists from our midfield so I'd be definitely down with that... He's a RB so maybe the competition for Lowton as Lambert sees Bacuna as a Midfielder now?

His grandmother maybe xD Seriously though KDB would be a dream signing... even on loan but it would be down to where we were in the league, where Benteke feels he will be next summer etc. Whilst I absolutely 100% agree... It's just not the path Lambert will take. Taking these known players is something that will never happen and instead we will continue to look far and wide for cheap talent who haven't had much, if any, media exposure. Everybody knows KDB, and I'm sure he earns more than any of our players as well. Sorry to be negative. Indeed Lamberts "thing" is to find the "next" KDB and players like that... That's what we have to do as we are financially constrained.. I like the policy but I think I speak for a lot of us when we wish we would wake up one day and we have signed a player of KDB's quality who would make us a massive force, he can unlock a defense very very easily. It's something we all know we need and Lambert will address this methinks!

First I've heard of him being a Villa fan, is there any basis to this? Surely if he was, it would be mentioned somewhere, but a quick search reveals nothing. There's no proof that he isn't, but I think it's unlikely that somebody born in Nottingham, who played for Derby as a kid, and whose dad played for Forest, is a Villa fan. I could be wrong though. Sure he had said something like it was his dream to play for Villa or was a fan of the club or something... (Interview last season) Could be 100% wrong and talking out of my backside though...

I think he's a Villa fan too? (Iirc?) So let's cut him a bit of slack, he's playing for the club he supports.. It's something we all dream about and well he's a decent footballer from the bits I've seen of him... I'd rather have Bowery than Heskey or Harewood...

I'd say we will go for a Attacking Mid, a Center Half (Pontus Jansson maybe?) and maybe a winger (Depends if Lambert see Bacuna as a CM or a Winger..)

I do genuinely think his decision making will come with more games played in this league and with his new team mates. He's 23 so the negatives can be coached out.. the one shining positive is as you say, his ability... He has bags of it.. You can tell he wants to do well for us and for that I'll take the "long shots" from distance because one will go in soon, least they are toned down now!

The difference is that Tonev is still getting game-time to supplement his development. Indeed, problem is we have a decent amount of forwards compared to "wingers" Helenius should come good I feel, he has bags of ability ala tonev!

I think him and Helenius are Lambert's "project" players... Bring them in for a relatively small fee, train them in the aspects they need improving on, (decision making, strength.. Stuff like that) Then once they are ready we have first team options... I think He will come good for us and it will be a case of him staying in the team for a while when he does!

Hopefully tonev is the creative spark, can run at people and make things happen.... Cardiff aren't that good.... Come on villa! 3points today please!

Thats a decent shot tbh.... Maybe not up front next to him but playing off Benteke in a free role so he can do what he wants might spark the team into life... Only problem being is that we would be pretty narrow without the full backs getting forward..
