Pretty non-plussed about this to be honest. I'm more concerned about the effect this has on morale. 1 step forward, 2 steps back this week and it will be interesting to see how GH can turn this around. I still think that he is right to utilise his squad but 8 changes is too excessive and when some of the changes include Heskey, Petrov and Herd you know that things will not go well. Petrov should never pull on a Villa shirt again as his woeful lack of drive is embarrassing. Heskey should be boiled down for glue and Herd is probably not even Championship standard. Sinking back into the "I really couldn't give a shit if GH stays or goes" mentality now. I think we have 2 choices... 1) Sack GH and GMAC (who is just awful by the way) and give the job to KMAC until the end of the season. 2) Stick it out with GH until the summer and see if we ship out the likes of Heskey, Petrov, Salifou, Warnock, Beye, L. Young, Osbourne, Herd and any other player dragging down the quality of our squad.

I'm liking the posession football but we have a CM with no drive in Petrov, a striker with no brains and Heskey who is the weakest target man i've ever seen. Not too bothered about this game though but would be nice to see the more senior players put some effort in. Still good to see GH sticking to his guns regarding playing style.

Seems a shame that no matter what team GH puts out we seem to struggle. Too many ego's and too many bottlers in equal measure. Still pleased with a point today though.

Would have taken a draw beforehand and of the teams below us only Birmingham got a better result than us. Not feeling down about this result. Although we do need to start picking up wins very soon.

Agreed would prefer to see Bannan on the bench instead of Pires but recent reports have said that he has only started training with the 1st team so maybe he will be brought in gradually. No Petrov on the bench though is certainly interesting. Injured? Or dropped?

This is another must not lose first and foremost. A win would be nice and soon we are going to put 4 or 5 in against someone, let's hope it's today. Hopefully NRC, Bradley and Cuellar will be playing to give us some more energy and defensive capabilties. Makoun pulled from Cameroon squad for tonight's game due to slight calf injury according to Birmingham Mail. Should be fit for Saturday's game...let's hope so.

Still like to see what Bradley can bring to our midfield. Not sure if he will get a start though but I agree with the above, we really need a win here but I am not confident of one at the minute. Our defensive frailties could be exploited by a Blackpool team who's reserves got 2 against us at VP. My fingers will remain crossed all week though.

What annoys me the most is that we win 2 games on the bounce with Cuellar in the side. But then he's dropped for no reason and we pick up 1 point from the next 2 games. Some of the decisions are just baffling me right now.

Ashley Young is an international winger. Someone should tell him that, despite what he thinks, he is not a number 10. Dare I say it I almost which we'd loaned in Keane for that role. However, we have Bannan, Delph & Gardner who all can play there and that's not even including the likes of Gabby, Delfouneso & Heskey who could all play as a 2nd striker in a 4-4-2. Persisting with Young behind a striker is one of our biggest problems. Moving on to our midfield I like Petrov and think that his defensive play is good, when we're 3-0 up and want to keep the ball. However, because he is so slow and not very positive with the ball we will rarely get in that position. We have a very quick, exciting attacking lineup that is not utilised 1 bit. Really can't wait to see what Bradley brings to the team.

When's Delph back? Where's Bannan? Either would be better than Young in the hole. Massive joke.

We should be playing 4-4-2 at home. Gabby/Delfouneso with Bent and a midfield of Makoun & NRC/Bradley with Downing/Albrighton & Young on the wings. Not rocket science. We've thrown away 4 points against Fulham this season. It's looking a bit hairy down at the bottom again. Blackpool, West Ham, Wolves & Birmingham all have games in hand on us. Need to stop **** conceding and stop now.

Hopefully Ireland will come back in the summer and GH, who already seems much calmer and relaxed about things, will integrate back into the team to our benefit. Sadly I think there had to be a scapegoat to the terrible first few months of GH's reign and Ireland was that man. Easy target I guess. Wish it was Warnock though, he can just **** off massively. Nevermind.

If he can get his form back and get his head right he could still be excellent for us. I think the problem is that GH seemed to write him off too soon then try and backtrack. Then with all the pressure GH was under Ireland was pretty much the scapegoat for our predicament. I would imagine this slightly more calm and collected Houllier would try to work with Ireland a bit more. Hopefully 5 months away will ease any tension and Ireland can come back to Villa as the excellent Premier League CM we know he can be.

I'd rather Pires gets a run out in the Cup than GH playing him in the league ever. We can then rest the likes of Young, Downing, Albrighton, Makoun & Petrov for the upcoming premier league games.

Don't think it matters about signing for another club as he hasn't played for them and joined us before the registration process. I really wanted him to turn good for us as he could be amazing. But right now I'd take the money and splurge it on Charlie Adam.

Yeah i'd take a draw. I just have that feeling that we are going to struggle tonight. Hope i'm wrong but teams normally "turn up" against us and we have to be ready for it. Still hopeful of a win as always but really need performances from our attacking players and really need to dominate the game like Arsenal did at the weekend and hopefully we should score a few goals.

Suppose comments sums up what we all believed about players being unhappy. Does seem though that now the majority are happy and results are going to come. I like his thoughts about players being happy. Like this. Reassuring in an odd way. And there's no way we will not win tonight. I'v never been so sure of a result before it happened. 1-3 to villa. I hope you're right. This is a must not lose game but a win would be superb and really take the pressure off our next game at United.

If that is the case I would imagine GH will have someone in mind to replace him. Although he hasn't played much we are still lacking a creative attack minded CM if he leaves.
