  1. We normally lose our last home game of the season but saying that I don't really care this year given the season we've had. Just want it to end and start rebuilding for next season.
  2. To be honest I just want it sorted out one way or another. If GH goes a new manager will come in and will probably take most of the summer to assess the squad and we may not see many changes. However, if GH stays we could see a massive upheaval of the team as he already knows who he wants to sell and get in as replacements. I'm excited about this summer regardless of the manager though. If pushed I would still opt for Moyes solely because he could do great things with our squad and RL's backing plus it's a huge risk for the club to keep GH on and potentially have another season of instability when the General and others have stated that this won't happen again.
  3. Ive heard Houllier has been offered a new 2 year contract. he gets 500 minutes and unlimited texts Badum Tish. Actually that made me laugh quite a lot.
  4. Hi General, Just wondering if Gerard will be at our final game on Sunday? Not from a management perspective but at least to watch our last game of the season and a chance to possibly say farewell to the Villa fans and also to the Liverpool fans. I know he got a lot of stick earlier in the season for the Anfield fiasco, and rightly so I feel, but I think it could do him the world of good to be at the game and have fans from both sides supporting him. I would be very surprised if anyone gave him stick given his recent condition, particularly as Sunday's game is pressure free for all. Admittedly it would most likely result in lots of speculation but I would hope to see him at the game in the crowd with RL.
  5. GMAC deserves credit for today's result but it certainly does not make up for the entire season of shit performances, piss poor team morale, and just a general air of gash around the club, all emanating from our management team. I would have been interested to see what GH can achieve next season but the risks associated with his health are just too big. We can not afford another season of potential instability. We have to go all out for a top manager now.
  6. I think the board need to be sensible on this one and not take another risk. GH was a BIG risk that failed and to do it again would just be **** crazy. Must be a proven recent Premiership manager. None of this pussy footing around looking for someone who isn't currently at a club. Yes I can understand why we didn't do it last year because it would have disrupted another club and really turned people against us but since then the club has proven nothing to me except that it is being run by a bunch of pussies, and GH is a dick, and GMAC is an asshole chuck!!! Sorry I digress. My point is that we need to be ruthless this summer on all fronts. 1) Sorting out the GH situation 2) Finding a replacement - Keep hounding Everton until they let us talk to Moyes 3) Buying/Selling players - If you're not good enough you're sold. If we want a player **** go and get him. Our approach is too nice and we won't get anywhere unless we develop a ruthless streak.
  7. As long as 2 from Wigan, Blackpool, Wolves or Blackburn drop points I couldn't really care about this result. This season has been shit and the sooner it's over the better. However, despite GMAC's incorrect admission that the season is over we will still need to ensure that we don't get battered just in case the unthinkable happens and it comes down to goal difference.
  8. Sergio Asenjo could be useful though as a replacement for Friedel.
  9. http://tinyurl.com/6hclnbx Corking, saves me a job of cocking up a link. Really not sure about this as I know less than zero about him.
  10. Linked with Quique Sanchez Flores on talkSPORT website. I'll try and get the link...
  11. I've got it from a very reliable source that McAllister will be offered the job permanently. When I say reliable source I mean the shitbag who has so far made this the crappest season I have ever experienced as a Villa fan, so why stop now. GMAC for manager!!!!! Heskey for Captain!!!!
  12. Totally agree, they wanted to play for the last manager, and they were good, without that kind of motivation they're barely average. True but some are just poor players with shit attitudes and have been found out this season. Just a shame that it has happened to pretty much 60% of our squad all at the same time.
  13. General - One thing for me really. Please can you mention it to GMAC that we are not safe yet and we still need the players to turn up for the remaining games of the season. McAllister's MOTD interview sounded a little bit like he was celebrating the season being over and the last thing our team needs is an excuse not to even bother against Arsenal and Liverpool. The players owe it to the fans to sign this season off the best way possible and as long as I see fight and commitment I will be happy. Please tell GMAC to put his champagne away until we have actually achieved something.
  14. To be fair our defence has been shit since the last 10 games of MON's reign. It's the players not the manager.
  15. Then it will be one of Benitez or Jol I'd imagine.
  16. Dowie would certainly give us a lot of bouncebackability.
  17. Some dude called "Vernon" on talkSPORT just mentioned that there are strong rumours emanating from VP that Benitez will be appointed this week. I see. The only strong rumours I've seen have been from the Daily Mail so let's hope it's BS.
  18. Can't see us winning this one but a point would be ok. Come on Villa!!!!
  19. I think we've been crap for long enough this season to stop assuming that we should beat teams like Wigan. We're down there for a reason and have not played well at all this year. I'm not confident about this but really want us to win for two reasons. 1) To ease my worrying about us going down. 2) To participate in a Summer Transfer Thread on the main forum board.
  20. Moyes should be our No. 1 target. Lambert has the potential to be very good but we need a proven Premiership manager who is passionate and hasn't been out of the game for years. Allardyce - **** Off Hughes - 2nd choice to Moyes, but by quite some distance Lambert - Too inexperienced considering our squad needs gutting and completely rebuilding. Jol - Been away from the Premier League for a while. Not really sure. Moyes was my 1st choice when MON walked and is again. Hopefully Everton can then go after MON and everyone will be happy.
  21. Most important game of the season. We need to show some dominance and actually batter a team at home this season. Although I'd take a point as that would pretty much guarantee our survival.
  22. I think any new manager coming in will be given time by the fans as long as he doesn't drop massive clangers like spunking on the Liverpool sign and also underselling our club despite 3 consecutive Top 6 finishes. Although to be fair you won't really be able to undersell a squad that finishes 13th or below.
  23. Yeah sure a manager who is trying to grow into the roll will be given time by our fickle fans? Can't see anyone given time by some of our fanbase, they will be on his back if he loses the first 2 games. This is true. At the end of the day it should be who is best for Aston Villa and not who is the best manager or who the fans want. Agreed. However it is the people who decide who the best man for Villa is that concerns me. After the Houllier appointment will we go for another experienced head or an up and coming manager with BIG ideas.
