  1. I suppose even if we do go down we will have the parachute payments and the knowledge that Lerner wants to sell up. He may have to invest a bit to get us back into the PL but with our resources, even though they are much smaller than when MON was in charge, we really should be favourites to come straight back up.
  2. Would it be typical though? Last season was the season nobody wanted to go down (more than usual) because of the new PL prize money and we didn't go down then. I suppose for me it would be the piss flavoured cherry on the spunk icing of the turd cake that has been the last 4 years. To go down now, with potentially big changes on the horizon should we stay up, would be gutting.
  3. Yep. Still shitting it and the Lerner statement has me even more worried. Would be typical of the last 4 years for us to **** up a takeover by getting relegated.
  4. Let's hope Swansea are happy to play out a draw next week.
  5. I don't think Bruce will believe that just yet. This could be a good thing as they go to Fulham next weekend so let's hope they can get 3 points and then ease off for our game the following week.
  6. What annoys me is that some of the journo's on Sunday Supplement think it's part of the game and that it's tough if someone from within our club leaked the info. I'll try that argument next time someone offers me stolen goods and the police want to talk to me about it. Admittedly less serious but the principle still applies. If it came from within our club someone must have either asked for the info or was offered it and, more importantly, accepted and used the information to gain an advantage. Pretty sure Palace could have beaten us without a "dossier" but it's irrelevant. The match was not played fairly as Palace had a clear advantage.
  7. It also helps having a "12th man" in every game. I am of course talking about the refs as opposed to the **** annoying fans.
  8. And they know how to influence a ref. Something that we struggle to do.
  9. Or Hull. Personally I think 36 points will be enough.
  10. By the sounds of it it's either Villa or nobody. Maybe if we went down Lerner would cut his losses and sell us on the cheap. Allowing new owners to buy our way back into the Premier League.
  11. And do you really gain that much of an advantage? Teams should be prepared for all scenarios anyway. yeah but it's easier to prepare for one scenario.
  12. It's gaining an unfair advantage. We didn't see their teamsheet before the normal time. Otherwise why have the times for submitting teams. What's more worrying is the detailed player breakdown, which really could only come from within our club. This is different to Sunderland playing someone in error and then owning up to it.
  13. Presided over some of the worst results in our history, broken several unwanted records and had his team playing some of the worst football I have seen at Villa Park. Paul Lambert, take a bow son! And he's not finished yet. He could also oversee our first relegation from the Premier League.
  14. Well for two clubs to make the same accusation against one other club is more than a little suspect. It will be interesting to see what the FA do, if anything. However, we can not rely on this to keep us up. Not that anyone is just yet.
  15. Doubt it. Would imagine Palace's knowledge of our formation and lineup 3 hours before kickoff (or maybe earlier) had something to do with it. More likely I suppose. My money is on that bonkers coach at Chelsea.
  16. If Cardiff are trying to get the match replayed, so should we...... Let's hope not. Knowing our luck Cardiff would win and we would lose again. If Palace are guilty the results should be void and the match awarded to us/Cardiff. If a club was caught doing that on matchday and the game was called off there is no way it would be replayed.
  17. Doubt it. Would imagine Palace's knowledge of our formation and lineup 3 hours before kickoff (or maybe earlier) had something to do with it.
  18. It is relatively old news but it certainly is interesting. Would be great if we benefitted from this though.
  19. If we do go down I expect a Bullseye-esque "let's take a look at what you could've won" style announcement.
  20. this. Lerner could have increased his asking price by the small amount it would have cost to get a decent player inon loan. Farcical.
  21. It would be great if the takeover happened this week. Yes there is still the risk of us going down but it would give the place a huge lift. I wonder what the plan is from Lerner if we do go down. Sign semi pro's on 500 quid a week?
  22. there is. The mustard is the one i use. I'd post a link but i'm on my phone, which is crap.
  23. It's weird how I've gone from thinking we were practically safe to thinking that we are in the shit, just because Sunderland fluked a win at Chelsea.
  24. We had an on fire Benteke at this point last season. No idea where our goals are going to come from. He missed the last game and got sent off in the 2nd to last game but we were safe by then. His goals kept us up. Someone needs to score to help us now. We can't play for 4 0-0's.
  25. It would only be disappointing if it meant we lost the chance of a takeover. Lerner has **** up this club.
