I cannot believe More people have voted 'One season wonder' :shock: . Before anyone else considers this option may I point out that winning 2 player of the year awards and finishing top scorer in two separate seasons means you cannot be a one season wonder. Simple really.

Specualtion on the Leeds boards about Bakke being considered by DOL. Also, just read that Seth Johnson was blocked from making his 60th appearance for Leeds because they will have to pay Derby 250k. Apparantly they want him off the wage bill along with Bakke. Worthwhile squad players or not?

Lancs is right and, even some of the top clubs strikers are not doing that well. Drogba (24m pounds worth of player in the best team in England) has score a whopping 4 more goals than JPA in the League this year (granted Angel has played 7 more games). That is hardly setting the world on fire is it. Reyes who perhaps isn't an out and out striker but plays upfront for Arsenal has only score 8 and Van Persie only has 4 (Van Persie in less games). These are top quality forwards at top quality clubs who are not scoring at anywhere near the rate they should be. It happens. JPA will be back to his best and firing next year I am confident of that.

Seriously Allstar Downing just isn't that good. Decent left footed players are always at a premium (especially English ones) and he has been hyped up because of this. If he played right side he would be nowhere near that squad.

He certainly has the skill. His lack of pace and Athleticism would hinder him in international football imo. He may well be worth a place in the squad but no the 1st XI. He is however better than Stuart 'The Hype' Downing who, in the games I have seen recently (including against us when he did not get a kick against UDLC) looks to have been found out and, ends up cutting in on his weaker right foot everytime he has the ball.

For those that voted '1 season wonder' what about his 1st full season under Gregory?.

I don't rate Kezman tbh. Lacks pace and never seems sure of his touch. If you can't score goals in that Chelsea team what hope is there?.

I voted yes. I don't think he is the 'bestest' but, I do think he is a very good player who would improve the current squad. I admit I would be dissapointed if he were to be the only forward we signed but I would be happy to see him in a Villa shirt.

I'm not swayed yet. As the saying goes.... in the shirt on the pitch. I am finding it hard to supress the excitement that is starting to swell now Bruce and Dol have commented on the situation. But then I remember Ellis is still there and calm is restored. If this cash falls through our club could be up the proverbial creek without a paddle imo.
