  1. Sell him to who? He is on massive wages and has been football wise in the doldrums for last few years. I dont think theyd be clubs ceuing up for him. We sent him on loan at Newcastle last Jan and dont think he ever played a game for them whilst we we're still paying his wages.
  2. Cuellar = played well - noticeably passed the ball on the ground when in possesion (unlike Collins) , defensively played very well. Him and Dunne played well. Dunne was exceptional and Cuellar complimented him pretty well. Clark = needlessly gave away cheap soft penalty - was very naive to put his arm around Walcott who had already beaten him . Walcott wasn't going to score from where he was and Clark should not have made such a silly decision to put his arm around him . It was a soft penalty but it still was a penalty - Either lack of playing regularly or just naivity made Clark made make that basic bad error. He played otherwise pretty well. Ireland = played reasonably well , didn't get on the end of one great cross by think Albrigton , went off injured just before half time. Not much else to say. Bannan (who came on for him) made more of an impact.
  3. Undeniably a LOT better tho. I expected nothing but a good beating tonight . We played some alright stuff for once which made a change. We actually passed the ball a bit and had some possession. I can accept losing like this rather than the likes of the truly woeful debacles we turned out against Spurs , Liverpool , Man U .
  4. It was a pen tho. Clark was naive there - he shouldn't have put his arm out Walcott had already gone past him and wasn't going to score himself from where he was.
  5. Hah. Same here. Tho Arsenal had so many corners against us you sort of knew one would go in eventually. It was Gabby who lost Benayoun.
  6. Good performance. Annoying to concede from a corner again -im sure McLeish will have them work on that in training ...... It was Gabby's fault on that corner. On the whole tho it was much better stuff.
  7. Yeah that'd be great.....another 45 minutes without a goal. We have created chances tho. We've played pretty well especially given our recent woeful performances.
  8. Id rather see us win myself. Or least put in decent performance for once. I can't stand McLeish and think he is terrible appointment but would rather see him turn it around somehow rather than us get hammered etc
  9. I do rmber ppl saying there would be no way we would sell Downing after selling Ashley Young because there would be too much of a backlash. I rmber ppl saying there would be no way we would appoint McLeish because he was crap and there'd be too much of a backlash. I would not rule out anything under this board.
  10. If we somehow magically pull off an upset tonight it would kick start our season and change the whole mood of the club. i'm just hoping for a decent performance and a good game for once. It's been an utter chore watching these crimes against football that McLeish has inflicted upon us this season and especially of late.
  11. Agreed jacketspuds. Another irritating thing was if we are cutting back etc -the McLeish appointment wasn't even a cheap appointment. We actually spent lot of money getting the clown to the club in first place and hes one of the best paid (in top 7) managers in whole league .
  12. I'm pretty sure he said it would take a big offer for him to leave - which we received. Or shall we also blame McLeish for Downing handing in a transfer request? He specifically said Downing was "not going anywhere" unless there was an offer of £50 million. He was sold few days later. £20 million for Downing was good and i blame the board but McLeish again was made to look incompetent with that silly comment . The board admitedly undermined him there.
  13. After the Man U game :- http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~2541068,00.html
  14. McLeish says utter crap like we play like Holland. He actually thinks we were good against Man U at times. He said Downing was "not going anywhere" - few days later sold. He says sorting out defending set plays is priority and will sort it out in training .Same problems happens next game time after time . Frankly the bloke whether he realises it or not routinely talks bullshit. So much so its not worth listening to anything he says. he is bullshit man.
  15. Agreed. With Mantis. I was originally under the impression McLeish was fairly straight up and honest bloke when joined us but he actually talks utter crap and lies.
  16. The Tottenham team selection alone was one of the worst managerial displays i have ever seen. Man U , Liverpool - utter dire - as we have been all season. Only a big upset in next few coming games and has road to damascus conversion would change my mind over this curmudgeon frankly almost fraudulent manager . A manager who'd make Gary Megson blush he is so negative. He also talks utter crap and lies - which does not help.
  17. "Their owners know nothing about football - nothing at all" - Graham Taylor sounds familiar...
  18. So Bolton win this - they will have won as many games as we have.
  19. Norwich game is only game i can think of this season were we came from behind . 'Good at bouncing back' is yet another lie. He talks crap , really is not worth listening to - best to ignore .
  20. "we have been good at bouncing back" Er...when? Hes really not worth even listening to. Talks complete crap.
  21. Well i hope we cause an upset and win a game for once But i do hear what you are saying - some of the scorelines have papered over some truly awful performances.
  22. I actually don't think Lambert is overated. What he has done has been unbelievable at Norwich and in the way he has done it. I agree with markavfc40 in i think he genuinely might become a top manager. There is something bit special about him. And for the record i never rated Owen Coyle as much . But it shouldn't go unnoticed just how his Bolton side have been decimated by injuries (Stuart Holden, Young-Lee) players loans coming to end (Sturridge) , and players being sold (Elmander) and age catching up with Kevin Davis. He has a lot of genuine excuses for them being in the rut that they currently are.
  23. I actually agree Sam Allardyce would've been much better. He is undeniably a class above McLeish certainly. He would make us hard to beat and is less negative and actually knows how to win games ugly. Often gets overlooked he can sign a player or two as well -ie- Anelka , Okocha , Djorkaeff etc whilst at Bolton. Don't get me wrong i think he has sides often playing garbage football but he gets an end product in terms of results - something that McLeish is utterly hopeless at.
