Comparing this season with MON's first season is so utterly stupid on so many levels i wouldn't know where to begin.

Alan Curbishley , George Burley , Steve Bruce , even under Redknapp who wasn't Bents biggest fan Bent scored goals. He has played and scored goals for far less fashionable sides than ourself in topflight for 10 years nearly now. The suggestion that we should sell Bent - a poacher who weve been crying out for for over a decade- because of our managers utter incompetence is ridiculous and farcical.

Agree that he probably couldn't believe his luck and would be happy to job with next to no funds and oversee a regression. The point i was making tho hiring him as manager was not cheap in any way. It cost a lot of money and hes on very good wages. Which makes the hiring of him even more ridiculous .

McLeish is in the top 7 best paid managers in the Prem league. Hes on best part of £3 milllion a year. We also paid Blues a very generous ammount of compensation for the 'privilege' of his services. He actually wasn't a cheap option.

Gate money is not the be all and end all anymore . Main revenue of all clubs is from TV money and other bullshit. Attendances would have to take a dramatic drop to have any bearing on this bad McLeish experiment. If season ticket renewals dramatically drop in summer well then even Lerner will have to admit to his mistake. But casual fans not buying tickets for games is not significant anymore.

Have to wonder how long this farce will continue... 3 years of this?? Have to wonder at longterm damage McLeish will do ..unless he magically changes his ways overnight.

The ship in it is called Prometheus apparently. But more significantly there looks like there will be similarities (in a metaphorical sense) in its plot to the original Prometheus greek myth.

Agree but a draw against Stoke is never a bad result. But yeh this what now we should best expect these days - overexcitement of not being beaten by Stoke under this curmudgeon manager. Stoke afterall are now a better club than us now. We are well regressing and devolving as a club in general under McLeish - so its no wonder why the club is trying to big up how great that woeful 0-0 diabolical antifootball match was but still a point it was.

The thing is McLeish can't even convincingly park the bus. Gary Megson can park a bus . Its bit of a myth that McLeish can.

Normally i would believe the club but given the alarming ammount of bullshit McLeish casually talks and the club in general has been guilty of in the past year it is indeed impossible to know what to believe .

I think from now on i might try to avoid reading more about possible plot etc until it comes out.

Alex McLeish's Prem teams have scored 127 goals and Darren Bent has scored 64 goals. That Bent stat is way waaaaay way off! According to wikipedia he has scored 168 goals in 338 appearances since 2001.

Mick gets a lot of stick by some of their fans as well. And yet Mick McCarthy is well above McLeish on every level as a manager.

We cannot, under any circumstances decide the future of our manager based on one player. Mcliesh, Mourinho or Brian Clough - Darren Bent will not care about AVFC like you and I do. Its his job. He will up and leave at the drop of a hat at the very sniff of more money. Get over it. Their tossers. Do not worship them. Who is talking of 'worship'?? Its very simple - i rate Bent as a professional footballer. I don't 'worship' him. I don't rate McLeish as a professional football manager. I don't 'worship' him or hate him. This football club though for pretty much the last decade has needed a striker of Bents prolific goal scoring ability. Bent has his faults for sure - but his goal scoring record really does speak for itself . He scores goals and has done for nearly 10 years in the Premiership and with far less fashionable clubs than ourselves.

We've been waiting a longtime for McLeish to have this imaginary road to damascus conversion. He hasn't had one and won't. His sides have always been utter shite anttifootball and we will be no different as this season has shown so far. Crimes against football . McLeish guilty.

unfortunately Mantis i honestly think we are stuck with this manager even if got relegated (which no - i don't think even McLeish can achieve yet). The club made such a ridiculous and unneccesary rod for its own back in appointing him in first place i think he will be stubbornly backed even if results went really awful. In the meantime we've ended up with some fans thinking Bent is crap etc and should sell him ! Madness. The level of McLeishs incompetence is pretty staggering all the same.
