  1. Swapped some midfielders where they have better depth that anyone in the league. If they don't hammer watford the players should be ashamed of themselves. Let's see if they're in Holiday (save myself for CL) mode or not
  2. McGinn should have come off but we don't have any midfielders to bring on for him. El Ghazi seems to have forgotten how to play football. Luiz, Elmo, Trez our best players. Konsa had been great until his brain fart attempted clearance. A disaster waiting to happen from the second we went ahead and then sat back. So predictable, yet so disappointing. The players are not good enough for the Premier League at the moment
  3. Bunch of bottle jobs. Can't handle the pressure. At least we'll win some games next season
  4. Change of opinion from the last game. Players at fault for this match entirely. Nothing Smith can do about a dodgy VAR call, us wasting our chances, and Mings seemingly having forgotten how to defend. I'll still be angry with him if we are still 2-0 down and he makes no changes before 60 minutes, but the fact is our whole squad is not good enough.
  5. I fully appreciate that they were always more likely to win, and that the subs they brought on would change the game. I even expected it to be honest, but changing nothing when they bring on 3 World class players is suicide. Its a defeatist approach. Wasted opportunity in my eyes. Still, we looked a lot better so if we carry that on for the remainder of the season we may get more luck. Players looked a lot fitter so hopefully a sign of improvement
  6. Jota was not the sub to make, before or after the goal. Nakamba to give us more cover defensively against their new front line, and Sama to make something of the chances that fell to others whod wasted them. Sadly since the changes were made after we went behind, nakamba then offers little to us and our chances dried up as we no longer had Liverpool needing to find a goal. Its all about doing the right thing at the right time. Smith didn't react to what Liverpool did. It was a criminal waste of a position we had fought extremely hard to be in.
  7. Well in the last 4 games we've seen that not making them definitely doesn't
  8. But why not make any changes. His tactics (and Liverpool being off the boil) got us into the position, but it was clear we had nothing in us. Liverpool bring on 3 pairs of fresh offensive legs. Smith does nothing. We concede
  9. Sama on for Davis now. McGinn had a great game and looks solid still, but hes one poorly timed innocuous tackle away from being sent off. Would swap him for nakamba too. Stop waiting Smith!
  10. Another chance wasted. This corner should have been a throw in. Terrible defending
  11. bringing off 3 players who I dont recall having touched the ball, is not a good sign. Bringing them off for 3 players that would walk into our team and be 3 of our best 4 players... even worse
  12. This now has every hallmark of a game where we're going to regret not taking our chances. Liverpool are gifting things to us and we're doing nothing with it. Can't blame the manager for that. Might be time to bring on Sama.
  13. This game looking like it could go either way. Subs going to decide it. Possibly does go to show that our 4 games in 10 days totally screwed our fitness for those games. Maybe helping us in this one now.
  14. I thought we were going to score. Forgot that feeling
  15. I was thinking McGinn is having a great game, but maybe it's all relative given how poor he was the last few matches. Conor would in no way be a good option to bring on until we are already behind. He'll expose us horrifically.
  16. McGinn having a great game. El Ghazi been pretty good too. Davis has done some decent supporting work as a defensive minded striker, that has eased some pressure on us, but he's definitely not looking like scoring. All in all, a much better first half than I was fearing. Worryingly Liverpool have Firmino and others on the bench that could expose us this half (as well as Salah and Mané on the pitch who don’t even look like they've started playing yet). Let's hope we can hang on, Liverpool stay demotivated, and we keep getting chances on the break
  17. On the one hand we need Norwich to get something against Brighton, not to keep Brighton in reach, but to give Norwich something to play for in their other games against the bottom 6. On the other, you could say that the pressure on them dissipates once relegation is confirmed and they may play better when they're free of that pressure. If you look at it this way then its win:win (or clutching at straws, choose your metaphor)
  18. I said before, but the fact we played 4 games, when everyone around us played 2 is absolute madness. The point at which all the league is as unfit as they're going to be for the rest of the season, and we have more games than anyone else. Throw in the fact our squad is horrifically shallow (not much we could ever have done about that this season), and it does look like conspiracy theory time. Did the FA provide a reason for it or just ignore it like it wasn't a problem and was bizarrely outside their control? I know we have not been good enough all season, but it will have a material impact on how many points we gain and hence will directly contribute to us if we get relegated. Professional sport is all about marginal gains, that was a significant loss.
  19. Very likely to be true. Last night's Liverpool would have still comfortably beaten us. They really weren't that bad, except for Gomez not knowing how to defend. Sadly, we don't have the players to take advantage of one player having a bad game. And we'd have been 3-0 down by the time City got their first. The only hope I have is that klopp experiments given the result, and it goes horribly wrong for them. If he sticks with that team we'll be lucky to go in at half time 3-0 down. That or a minor miracle is happening
  20. Even more so if they are considered exceptional before joining.
  21. F*%$ing tempted fate there didn't I. West Ham
  22. The two posts above have explained why, using Sané as a benchmark, Grealish should in theory be worth more than that. City don't need Sané either, having played all season without him due to his ACL injury, that may mean he never performs at his previous level again, so their price is reflecting that too. Also may mean he is more likely to go there than waste his potential at United
