  1. I would love to know exactly what DS is doing with our players to bring there stamina/energy up because I don't think eating raisins and drinking monster energy drinks will do the trick. Yes you are rite about moving the ball round the back at times we came so close to giving it a way very badly. I guess our accuracy also has to be sharp, every player has to be able to pass fast and accurate all while under loads of pressure. Smith said that the way we will play a player has to get use to dragging two to three of the opposition with him. Our player with the ball should be making them run for the ball all while being out gunned and being able to navigate a pass securely through to one of our (what should be upto another two players), which is triangle football. Its not an easy thing to do it brings many skills into the game and teaches players many skills in how to deal with opponents on top of you all game. If our players have the energy which I should imagine is a priority then the rest will follow. One thing I really did notice with QPR is how many mistakes we were actually causing them to make, the pressure was brilliant and we took the ball of them alot. I would actually say apart from our blunder it was a game we deserved a point from if not all three..
  2. I too am confident the results will come under Smith, we for once really did destroy the opponent in possession, passing and finding space, we just lacked the finishing. All because of a blunder we lost that game, soon as the blunders stop that will be one problem sorted. I was loving the way we played but I too realise that our energy just isn't there to do it all game, I was thinking to myself I'm glad it's not me playing football like that all game, I would be dead after one game, it must be exhausting and to think brentford managed it but again they were built upto it like we will be, it will come in time. The brentford lad in the interview was rite, that I would love this type of football but again glad I'm not playing it,, it is a next level of fitness that is.
  3. Exactly how I feel, last season was like yeah we mite get up, failed. Now this season is bruce failed and got too start again but this time do it properly under Smith. I came to realise a while ago that until our players are taught a way to play and goofball is abolished at villa, then we won't be going anywhere out of this league back into the top flight. I realise the day of throwing money at a situation are now over and I am glad (football can return to what it is) it's just a shame villa have fallen so far behind in this, but we have the remedy to the poison now. Just look at Manchester United sitting mid table, fallen so far since money isn't doing the trick anymore like it did for them mid 90s and on, if the players are not playing, the tactics are not installed rite and the game plan isn't down then it isn't happening. As I said some days ago, teams that are still in the premier and how have been for like 15 years onwards are struggling to teams who have moved up from the championship. Yet the likes of man u have spent much more than these teams from our league, when I said villa were outdated I also mean other teams up in the top flight are too and there time will also come. Football is again changing back to what it once was and players worth will really show by how they play on regular occasions. We have all often said money has ruined our beautiful game, again look at how our team was used to cater to other team and we sold our talent for money (no more and I'm glad). Just look at how the championship clubs and below have fought the money issue problem, by updating the way they play, starting from scratch, tore up the rule book and basically devised new strategy of play that drive the most star filled money driven teams crazy because they can not cope. If anything I really to admire the team in this league and below in how they have had no choice but too change, I admire them for doing what was needed to show the money driven teams that they are still here and we will out play you.
  4. I don't agree, I think he has done much better. Smith is at least doing things with our team, training them to keep the ball, training to move the ball about faster and more accurately, train that side to side football we heard about and train that one touch football. Some people are absoloute impatient on here to think it's all going to be done in one season and so they will get on Smith's back and in turn give him one more headache to deal with instead of being fully supportive for as long as its going to take. There are many reasons why we got to where we are now, one being impatient and the other thinking we was going to run away with this league all because we came from the top. There is a reason we went down into the championship and it was because nothing was being taught anymore at villa. The club was a mess and players just didnt know what to do on the field. We got in a bunch of managers who either didnt know what they were doing, didnt care, couldnt get the job done or the best one, just went and spent money to solve the issue, which clearly didn't work. We are where we are through impatience and continueing on in and old way of football that was outdated, all while other teams were finding new ways in which to improve and play. We were like dinosaurs in the top flight who were throwing big money at expensive players who were a waste of time, all while other clubs created teams that bought in the best all while our best kept getting picked out from underneath us as we were a team catering to others and selling our talent. It was all only a matter of time before we ended up where we were, if we had of had Wes and Nas then we mite not of been here in this mess, but who knows. As it stands rite now we have no choice but to do things the way the club's of this league have been doing so for a very long time. We adapt or continue the slippery slope, money won't solve this alone we tried that remember. We have for the first time a manager along side him are more guys which are teaching our players new methods of playing. Its not only going to take time, its also the fact we are playing big time catch up in football because we are so outdated that if we kept bringing in the likes of bruce who dont do anything with players, we would end up being a low league side in the end. Something has to change and it should do under Smith, if he could do mid tables with Walsall and brentford when he had to skint and scrape for his money to get players in then, he should be able to do alot better with villa, he has the talent, has the youth, has the backing, has the coinage. There is no quick fix to all this that's going on and that's what you people need to open your eyes too, we all need to be patient, the results may not happen for abit, we mite end up mid table or wherever but that's that and we have to except it. Till our team clicks together, has that energy to go for 90 mins easy, can ware teams down and break them up, till we have some good finishers and players who will take a crack, a chance instead of taking it to far, then we are not ready for top flight football. We looked much better today than we did against norwich thats for certain. We have the January window to deal with and we will get an idea of who will leave us and who will join us. The day we can stop bringing in loans can't happen fast enough, as I said to someone in the qpr thread, we need to remember these are players that are trying to revive a career because for some reason or another they fell out of favour at there current club. The loan market is a tough market to get a decent playing team out of that goes out and wins matches, we really need to get out of it and fast. We need inform players now we have the money, we need those players that are fit, playing regular, players who want to play for villa and earn there stripes here. We can bring players here who are fast and as someone pointed out with the style of play we are playing, not greedy and can turn fast on players leaving them for dust, we do need high physicality players who are explosive who will leave their marks for dust, they will cost a fortune but they are out there.
  5. Was not talking about the games brentford lost, just about there energy to ours and how they could carry running a team down where ours can't at the moment.
  6. Apart from defence of say we would need a striker who can perform under pressure, kodjia can't when surrounded. It's obvious Tammy has troubles with first touch finishing as he's missed or messed up many chances. Our guys who get on the box alot of them just don't want to have a go and try and score, then they go and pass it in a tighter area that often leads to the ball being given away. We need our strikers to stop thinking on the ball to much, just deliver a shot quickly.
  7. Think our energy has gone now where as Smith's brentford team would still be going fast, smooth and keeping that ball, we are running out 65 mins or so. Unlucky grealish, think that was a deserved goal. QPR doing some fouling now, teams get annoyed when can't get the ball.
  8. That may happen down the road, if wee can run teams out of that energy they have then let lose with our energy when it's all built up that is, then we mite start winning games from behind.
  9. Yes Bolasie is a good player I think, I would certainly like to keep him at villa, I think he would suit Smith's style.
  10. That was so unlucky I just about jumped up, nice flick back from Grealish.
  11. Ref should of blown his whistle then, that challenge from behind wasn't nice.
  12. I really don't find that funny in the slightest. It is Halloween tonight isn't it, I will do A Michel Myers.
  13. I think it's ok having one as selfish which Is the striker ie Tammy but the rest I agree with you a team needs to pass all the time till it's time not to and have a crack. We do have a few selfish players who need to stop or be gone if this style is to properly succeed.
  14. Elmo again with that cross, should of gone in the air, kicked and went along the floor. I would take Elmo off to be honest.
  15. omg Elmo why oh why what was that, now that build up was lovely then Elmo spoons it.
  16. I think it could also be a much worse score than it is, nyland has made a few very good saves in my eyes.
  17. This is the position we was put in due to FFP though. I mean imagine if we hadnt of got that hanging over us, we wouldnt have alot of loanees and it's these loanees that get put on the bench for one reason or another. By there clubs they have fallen out of favour for one reason or another, whether its being unable to score, being not fit enough, being idiots, injury and so on and this is what we have picked up and hopefully that can stop at some point, so we can buy who we need from who is on form and playing well.
  18. That would be lovely to see, really would, only way that's happening is if our energy keeps flowing and we can break them down. QPR however are keeping as many back and breaking with almost the entire team, they may decide to keep more back and be happy for a one goal lead.
  19. kodjia is going to get in trouble, hes a rite one he is.
  20. I agree the football looks alot better, faster, more possesion for a few games is looking ace.
  21. All season our defence as been our let down, it does need sorting and I agree with others it should be the first thing Smith sorts out. The other thing is to bring in players who can suit Smiths playstyle more because we have some not comfortable with it and possibly just wont get it.
  22. Keeper couldn't do nothing their, chesters fault.
  23. The only problem is the fact that our players have not the energy levels to run like this for 90 minutes. When the energy levels change and we can do that for 90mins then it will be brilliant to see and will wear teams out all while we are still comfortably going.
  24. Yes considering loads slated him for having a go and hitting the wall against Norwich lol.
