  1. Well DaveAV1- Firstly I have always liked John. But yes Although Bruce is struggling to pull wins out at the moment, Steve actually has made villa a place where there was a good vibe, players were trying there hardest again, trying to better themselves all while heart was showing more regular again, morale was boosted under Steve and still is to a certain extent. Steve saying in the papers that we are once again a team that is tough to beat, in a way that can be agreed on, but it seems it's also a bit of a contradiction considering we can't beat teams. All Steve is really missing is a winning formula, he is struggling to find that and this is where John Terry I think comes in. I think John would and could keep alot of the good if not all of what Steve bought to villa and adapt and evolve on what Steve was trying to do, I think in terms of most players john has always had an insight to the game that other players take longer to see, not to mention the respect john brings as well as young players do well around him. John Terry's time at Villa changed alot of our players for the better, he came in and instantly looked like he had been commanding us for a decade, players took to him instantaneously and took what advice he had for them and used it, terry is certainly a positive that does bring the goods to a team. I think if Bruce goes, that it maybe in our best interest to try Terry as manager, I not only think he could handle it, but feel because of his time with us, it wouldn't take him all that long to settle in because of how our players. I also think that our players workrates would go up but that's just me. It all remains to be seen who will be appointed the position and whether they can get the job done. there is still room in the league at the moment and whoever comes in still has time to bring the game and take our team which has a highly skilled set of players, up a bunch of notches. I am curious also as to what type of football John Terry would install, curious more than any other new manager I guess. Mainly because Terry or Henry would be new to managing, experimentation would be opened again where as we can see with experience that experimentation is all but lost because they are set in there ways, We most likely need a manager with little to no experience at all to get this rite.
  2. We don't get that, a run of draws yes. I don't think the top of the table is going to be high on points this season, not like last anyway, so it may be very possible to pull a comeback off this season. After seeing bruce like this he does need to be gone, if he can't get us in the premier league, he certainly can't keep us in it let alone make a run for the title there. We need an ace of a new manager and finding that kind of guy is going to be tough. Come on owners Bruce needs to sort it or be gone cus I'm fed up and sick and tired of this crap now, I want the new guy installed asap so things can be underway, I'll even take Thierry Henry if I have too but would prefer JT..
  3. Yes it took a good while for us with all that possession to start actually in the second half to fire a shot off, it was like the whole midfield was in stasis and took some miracle to move again. Surely the owners want some exciting football, I would rather Bruce actually take some risks here and try new things he hasn't before. He seems to be relying on a childs formation play book at the moment. I think Kodjia should start and at halftime bring Abraham on fresh. With Abraham though our midfield need to shoot way more, we need a shooting team, its like alot of our playwrs are scared to shoot, abraham seems good at picking up rebounds, cant score off any if our troops dont bloody shoot.
  4. It's clear he is happy for the time that draws are coming in, till somehow he stumbles upon a winning formula.
  5. Bruce out Borat in, cus I would take even Borat at the moment.
  6. Have a feeling Bruce is here to stay unless he starts drifting us towards relegation, then i can see chanting turning to pitch invasions. Maybe that's what's needed, pitch invasions to get the owners ears.
  7. Think bruce is going for a record here, as many draws as possible this season. Is one think you can at least guarentee that booky slips coming in for draws, mite make a fair bit.
  8. At the moment I feel Bruce is football's David Cameron, certainly screws it up in the end.
  9. Need some shock and awe football, whoever the manager is, don't like defensive football that much anymore, so whoever comes in needs to deliver the SHOCK AND AWE at fast pace.
  10. Andrea Stramaccioni as the media is now suggesting anyone? I'm not sure how I feel about an Italian coming in and giving it ago, he does have some experience, but it seems it is short experience 1-2 years at most at each position, he is still young though. In charge of under 17s for Roma, 19s for inter then put in charge of inter themselves but could not win them the league, other teams such as Panathanaikos, sparta praha. As said above couldn't do it for inter, but that doesn't mean he can't give us promotion now does it?? Everyone's thoughts please??
  11. If bruce goes im happy JT having a bash, but its a big job for him and it would take the season fitting a plan in. I do believe terry would be able to keep what bruce has set in place since his time at villa ie the feel good factor, respect, loyalty, wanting to work as a team, maybe he can build on what Steve has failed to set in motion. So long as Terry could bring some passionate, fast paced, flowing football, while doing his best to not compromise our back line, yeah id say I would be happy. Would much rather have Terry than thierri..
  12. Martin just walks away, so no Thank you, he's like a grown up acting like a child that runs off an leaves his club's if he can't get his own way.
  13. Sounds like stop the rock song does it not??
  14. That is about rite, couldn't of said it better myself really. If bruce wants to keep this job he is going to have to pull some blinders out now, get our players performing and bring results in at most. I too see he has made it tough for teams to beat us again, but the couple of losses, all the draws just isn't enough now Steve, we need wins with that or your job is gone. I understand all those that want him gone, and to some extent I do too, but I feel he still could hold a winning ticket up his sleeves and has some cards left to play, I have to believe that because if I don't we all know it's season over for promotion. All I can say is while he is our manager is come on Brucey bring us a bonus and get the job done.
  15. Great, amazing goal, deserves to be contender for goal of the month..
  16. Wouldn't it still be called Brexit? we will start to get confused of which Brexit everyone is talking about soon.
  17. I'll simply say Bruce it's time to be on your way given this should of been a win, it's not working, you tried but nothing you do is happening. We do need someone new, I just hope who gets bought in as replacement does a grand job, but wouldn't surprise me if we do end up with a string of bad results getting a new manager. We can't win either way this season is a bust I'm afraid unless we get someone who is a magical manager.
  18. Really do from seeing the article I have just seen that we can get some of loss back down. Partly why I think there has been a culling of staff, not just too make villa more efficient, but to bring down wages more. I just hope we don't pick up a points fine, but we mite if the loss doesnt come down. The difference between is and blues is from all the changes and work going on it looks like aston villa are trying to sort these problems out, where blues look like they are not even bothered, they are really pushing it I'd say..
  19. Imagine if Bruce pulls this season off and did take us back to the premier league, he would be laughing and there would be a hell of alot of people eating there words, swallowing it like they were eating rusted nails. Were all saying go, yet the question is who takes over, is there anyone out there at this present time who could honestly do a better job. I am all for replacing bruce so long as the rite guy comes in and I think that's the problem, all the best guys for the job are took.
  20. Dave's are king lol Would be most confusing having a whole team of Dave's to comment on.
  21. That's the problem with FFP isn't it, A team like ours last season is different financially to a team like ours this season and that should be taken into consideration by UEFA. As of last season we were struggling financially yet the info didn't come out till after the playoffs, our owner Xia was being quiet about things which didn't help the situation. Then this season we have had a major boost where we have two owners that could if they wanted to, buy us the world, het cant. The way FFP is, we are stuck in a zone now, which means that no one can come in and do a man city and spend a few hundred mill. I still think FFP needs refining still, I don't think it is there yet, it certainly does need to protect teams, yet the gloves should be taken off if owners like our come in and should be given free reign to splash the cash and compete
  22. Not If it puts us in FFP punishment, look at blues now facing up to a 21 point punishment because of there last signing. I find it funny how they laughed like crazy when we were in trouble, bet they are not finding that funny now are they now it's all hit them.
  23. Sometimes I ask myself the question of who is more hated out of bruce or xia especially on villatalk, wonder what the % would be on that poll, have a feeling a 50/50 would pop up lol.
  24. I think you are rite about the get promoted at any cost part, but to say he would of put the club up for sale just to make profit no one knows that answer. The only thing that suggests he wouldn't of done and sell villa for profit on promotion, is how much tony tried to keep the club at the time we was about to go extinct. Yes maybe he was holding out for the rite deal to get his money back but I do think he wanted to be owner all the way and selling was a very last resort. I do think Tony thought about it alot, money was his game and as I said back in some posts his gamble nearly paid off, but his gamble also nearly cost us the world. To as I said I do not hate the man, but I do not like him either for what happened under his ownership. I think any person who plays with there assets like tony did, deserves to lose them in the end, you have to play it safe always, gambling loses you everything in the end. Tony certainly had a backup plan for if he lost the promotion gamble, in a way he was smart, his back up plan was N.S.W.E. Tony knew if he gambled to get us back up, if he failed, he could guarentee one thing, that his gamble wouldnt cost him anything down the line, he would have most or all his money back he paid for villa and extra because of what he spent on players, bills, staff and so on. I do wonder what total Tony has managed to get back out of Nas+Wes, I bet he's had over a couple hundred million, what do you guys think on what he has managed to claw back total???
