Whoa! Now we all know Jimmy is a lying bell end but he's not that bad.

They are struggling badly at the moment and he's carrying them. I've said several times now that he'd be absolutely perfect for us. He can play out wide but I think he's at his best playing on the shoulder of the defence. He thrives on balls through the middle and flicks over the top. He has electric pace and superb ball control. He'd work so well playing up front alongside a big striker who can hold the ball up for him. I'd be over the moon if we could sign him. I think they want £40 million, which is understandable considering their position.

Guarantee it's some pathetic loser Wolves fan with some weird obsession with us. Who even are they? Aren't their local rivals Shrewsbury?

I'd prefer Rashica and Weghorst. They'd be an absolutely amazing strike partnership. Get some good wingers too and we'd be laughing.

If we're talking about B's, why not go in for Belotti? There were rumours we were in for him in the summer.

Well seeing as we now need 2 strikers maybe we can try for one with Prem experience and then an exciting one from abroad.

Batshuayi might be a good option on loan but I think there are better strikers out there who we might be able to sign permanently instead. There's several in the Bundesliga I'd take.

20 years ago it was a career ending injury. Nowadays players do seem to come back much better but I think there is always a weakness there. It's common to lose a yard of pace, I think. Ben Mee should be banned for as long as Wesley is out injured.

I called for a red card before I knew Wesley was injured. I saw it before the first replay. It's a disgusting tackle.

Milot Rashica is the player we need. Sign him and a big striker for him to play off and he'll thrive.

No, not if he does it well. A good defender would be able to show him into the corner and keep him there until another player comes to help out, and maybe make the attacker run it out of play. Number one rule of defending is don't dive in. The fact that he got the ball is absolutely irrelevant. It is dangerous play, simple as that.

But he didn't need to win the ball. He should have showed him down the line. That's what you do when you can't win the ball safely. Wesley was running down the line, not in on goal. It wasn't a goal saving tackle and Mee had 2 or 3 other players around him who could have helped out if he'd shown Wesley into the corner. Defending isn't just about winning the ball. He knew full well that he was going to make contact with Wesley.

Ben Mee is clearly a scumbag who has a history of this. The tackle was horrific and VAR not even looking at it just sums them up. And people who say "he won the ball" know nothing about football. It was excessive force, which is a red card offence. A good defender would have stood him up and showed him down the line and tried to box him into the corner. That is the proper way to defend. Only a thug would lunge in recklessly like he did, with the full intent to "leave one on him". It's the kind of tackle that needs to be completely outlawed as it is career threatening. Poor Wes, I feel so bad for him.

Totally 100% agree. The 'Allardyce' model is what put us in such a mess in the first place. How are people even contemplating it again? It's honestly baffling.

Absolutely bang on and exactly what I was just trying to say in my previous post. Thanks for summing it up better than I did.

The long term vision is still the same as it was when the new owners came in and when Smith took over. To play good football, buy and develop young players and move us back up into the top half of the premier league. A year ago we were a million miles off that and Smith has done well to get this far so quickly. Rome wasn't built in a day. It will take time, even if we take a backwards step then so be it. In the modern game, a club has to have a vision and stick to it. All of the small clubs that have done well recently have had that. The ones who have been a bit more hasty haven't done so well. In the summer when we signed all these players and everyone on here was raving about what an amazing window it was. Now after we've had our first bad month or so of the season we all want him out and have forgotten about our vision. Up to and including the Man Utd game we had played well in all but 2 games. Since then we've lost 2 of our top 3 players to injury, our form was bound to dip. A short term solution in sacking a manager and replacing him with a fat old dinosaur is not a way to approach a long term project. What is the point in a club having a vision if they just sack it off at the first chance. You have a vision and project and you commit to it, even if you take a backwards step. You don't do the exact opposite of that and go for another dinosaur. They may as well have kept Bruce. If we do have to get rid of Smith then we HAVE to go for a manger that fits into our vision, not someone who is the polar opposite like Allardyce. What would our vision be then, bring in a load of old timers who can "do a job" on 5 year contracts and end up like we were when we went down. No thanks, I'd rather go down with Smith and start again.

And Allardyce would guarantee us not being relegated? I'd rather go down with Smith than stay up with Allardyce. At least we have a long term project and vision at the moment, Allardyce doesn't know the meaning of those words. He'd set us back even further. It would just be repeating old mistakes if we go anywhere near him.
