Think this is a pretty good shout. It won't happen though. I really hope we don't go down the familiar, dispiriting route of sending on Davis with 10 minutes to go, as it means we are losing and will go on to lose. It never works, so a new idea is long overdue.

I think the pattern of the season is pretty established now and it was odds on tonight would be frustrating. I would hate to see this same approach in such games continue for the rest of the season. As much as I like Keinan Davis, this bringing him on with 10 minutes to go chasing a game simply has to stop now. Louie Barry for 10 minutes. Konsa up front. ANYTHING to show we are actively working on new ideas for a longstanding problem.

Micah Richards, Alan Shearer, Jermaine Jenas all regularly and enthusiastically praise Villa to the hilt (Holte). It's opinions like this that really make me wonder if people actually truly believe the opinions they espouse on platforms such as this, or simply type and chuck about names that come to mind as they do so.

I'm going to put this back out there because it really is quite astonishing. We have now kept more clean sheets at this stage of a season than ever before in our entire history. Incredible what is happening here under Dean Smith.

Sorry if this has already been said, but it'll be really interesting to see how Barkley responds to being dropped for a youth player. I think we can (almost) guarantee he won't throw a strop when being subbed again.
