  1. Agreed mate, if he had already had 4 or 5 more cameos he would have been much happier and maybe there wouldn’t have been an issue
  2. Got to add drinkwater, sylla and baston too
  3. Without sounding negative the main thing that I am a bit gutted about is that after we signed ings, a here and now signing, I really thought we would go for it and get that upgrade that we are crying out for in midfield, I think we are just one player short there, an upgrade on Nakamba. I still think we have improved this year and have one of the best front lines we have had for a while with ings, Watkins, buendia, Bailey, traore and elghazi and our defence and midfield is the same as last year minus Barkley but hopefully JJ and sanson will be a big upgrade there. I am hoping that with the money that has come in that if we are in a good place by January then we will add 1 or 2 top signings that really help push us on for the last bit of the season. At the start of jan last season West Ham were mid table and then went on a good run, then added lingard and got Europe, no reason we can’t do something similar this season. Keep the faith guys! UTV
  4. I agree mate, the only issue being that it took them a couple of seasons to make him consistent and develop him. Time is not something us villa fans like to give, look at luiz everyone was raving about him after lockdown and worried Man City would want him back then his form dropped and a number of fans had written him off. An even more drastic example is sanson, played a handful of games and got injured now there are a few that are not convinced by him and want him to be replaced, we should give him a chance and see what he can do imo. I think our best bet is to get an experienced dm that can come in and do a job, replacing Nakamba in the squad, whilst letting us further develop luiz and some of the youth players
  5. I think we all would mate. I would swap AEG, trez, Wes and hourihane to have damsgaard, it’s not quite that easy though unfortunately
  6. I think we will only get another attacking player if el ghazi leaves. We have Bailey, Watkins and traore out. That would make a big difference to our starting 11 and match day squad.
  7. Ramsey brilliant today. Great performances from mings, young, Mcginn and cash too. Buendia looked better than last week and hopefully can really kick on. Special mention to Luiz solid today and really helped us tick, always showing for the ball and often the out ball from the cb’s. I can’t wait to see us with Watkins, Bailey, traore and sanson back
  8. That’s what happens when you play him in his position, great performance
  9. He was in the training clips on Thursday or Friday mate he was back on the grass, he wasn’t in any of the clips with the ball though
  10. Different players develop better in different ways. I think chukwuemeka will benefit more this year by being in and around the squad (like Ramsey was last season), Ramsey too if we don’t sign anyone else. That’s said I absolutely agree that we shouldn’t not sign players because of X or Y youth player, if they are good enough they will make it.
  11. I think we need to scrap the 4231 and go back to 433, at least until we have suitable players to play it. Luiz is back now and played his best football in a 433 for us also Sanson was in the training vid on Thursday or Friday so hopefully he is not too far away from returning. Mcginn needs to play as an 8, let him put challenges in higher up the pitch, cut off passing lanes and make late runs. Ramsey and chuk should also get more minutes in this system. I would be looking to start with 2 of Bailey, buendia and traore and one of ings or Watkins. This will give us more balance in the team and also added threat from the bench. I would love us to get in a top dm to give the midfield a real balance and let the new 6 and luiz compete for the starting place. I like Nakamba and el ghazi but it is probably time for them to leave as I think we are at a point where we are progressing past their skills.
  12. Tbf it’s not as bad as Abrahams, Billings or Samson
  13. I’m actually more excited about JPB than Chuk. I think both will be great players but JPB looks ready now
  14. Agreed mate. I think he (or a player like him) would give our midfield the balance that we need
  15. Every time I watched Fulham last season Anguissa was the stand out player. The way he breaks up play and drives forward is what we need
  16. I think JPB will get game time as well, not looked out of place in the first team in preseason
  17. Take different approaches for different games mate. If we are playing a team we expect to create a lot against ings finishing would be a perfect approach. Both should get plenty of game time and hopefully we have at least 1 good cup run. We can also finally have a real attacking option on the bench when chasing a game
  18. Now is the time to invest for me. We should spend a good portion of the 100 million now and look to finish as high as possible and look to overtake a few teams above. If we hold out until next season what is to stop others wanting to leave? Let’s take advantage of the fact that we are about to get 100 million and there are clubs across Europe that need money.
  19. If we keep Jack and get Bailey and JWP, Dean really will have lived up to his comments about wanting more creativity this window. We should definitely be able to break the teams down that just sat back against us and went for a smash and grab. It was brilliant watching us do well against the “big” teams last season but we also dropped points in games that were there for the taking and fortunately it looks like we are trying to address this.
  20. I wouldn’t be disappointed if we got him but I would prefer Bailey in all honesty. He is a real joy to watch, he would need to improve his work rate though, could genuinely take us to another level
