I love this type of post ruling out certain players due to nothing more than an opinion or a reference to wages. Neither you nor I or anyone else for that matter outside the club know dick all about who the club might be interested in or what wages they would accept, or whether they would want to be a part of AVFC. However, if you reference recent signings then anything reasonable is possible. For instance, Ndicka is coming to the end of his contract. He has already played with Kamara and most players abroad wouldn’t dismiss the idea of playing in the Premiership for a well known player/manager and an improving team with ambitious owners who have deep pockets. Concerning Soyuncu he has certainly lost his way a bit but I’m not sure you’re correct in saying he isn’t good enough. Few would have refused the chance to sign him previously?

Yup Gomez would be a perfect replacement for a long term injured CB. He would be joining Carlos on the treatment table after one game! Mings is also susceptible to injury so Villa definitely need a quality 1st team replacement for Carlos.

Only positive is the transfer window is still open. Two quality mids needed plus a striker!

If he does sign for Villa Digne will be rested more throughout the season hopefully meaning less injuries. Very decent loan signing.

See my above post while Soucek was constantly mentioned by pundits as being a very good player in season 20-21. Last season he’s apparently had a major fall out with the manager which can happen. Statistics can be very misleading as there are so many variables to each stat. We’ve all seen how moneyball systems can fall flat on it’s face! I tend to judge players with my eyes and Soucek is the type of powerful physical midfield player Villa have been lacking.

Why so? We’re talking about a player who played a role in getting West Ham to exactly where Villa want to be over the last two seasons with 6th and 7th place finishes. Where did Villa finish in the same period?

Too soft for the Premiership and will be moved on if a suitable offer comes in. Would rather have Souchek. Might be available and would give Villa a better presence in midfield. Only 27 and can score goals too. Offer Spam Ings and 10m?

I wish there wasn’t any transfer windows. I’d much rather go back to the way it was when clubs could sign players throughout the season.

I hope this is reliable. Not sure what Luiz’s value is but anything around 15m-20m and Villa should move him on. Prowse, Zinchenco, or Gallagher are much more effective players.

I would like to see Archer given a fair chance in pre-season to prove he’s good enough as 3rd choice striker rather than sending him on loan again.

Yup stated exactly this a while ago to a Villa mate. Much better player than Luiz or McGinn and would give Villa a touch of class in midfield. As for Hojbjerg would sign him in a heartbeat but can’t see Spuds selling and if they do you’re dealing with Levy.

Or if they study the name. An Aston Martin and Villa anywhere you want if you sign.

Good. Vastly overrated player whom Utd would be glad to get rid of. Wouldn’t want any current Man U player.

It’s a decent fee for a player with one year left on his contract and won’t play for Villa again. The same again for Gaz and that’s probably near a hundred grand in wages saved that can be used elsewhere.

Gutted its looking like Villa have missed out on him. Very good player and at 25m a real bargain. I’d like to see Villa go for Gallagher now.

Luiz is a nothing player. Not particularly good at anything and I’m in no doubt if Villa are offered a reasonable amount of money, then Gerrard will sell him.
