  1. Glad we got/have him (would we really have managed to get out of the Championship otherwise?) and I badly want him to continue to be a success here. My fave manager since Gregory tbh, so good to have that affinity with the club. Both manager & captain
  2. Here’s an example of him putting those calves to use : https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=510137473097683&_rdr The lad has it all really, he just needs able assistance.
  3. I think he has to slow down when the players around him are comparatively so poor and lack ideas, invention & belief. No one making decent runs either or they just lose the balls so often and so easily. Get better players around him & he will be even more effective and decisive and our general game & tempo will speed up too.
  4. A very unfortunate surname, must feel abused whenever he’s called out!

    Ezri Konsa

So Ezri just tweaked his arse rather than his hamstring that’s a relief. Should be fine for Monday. I chuckled when he grabbed the physio’s cheek (without hesitation) to show him where the niggle was in the game. He really is looking the part now and getting better & better, I’m enjoying this Mings & Konsa partnership and can only see them improving.
  6. We want to be more than just “out of danger” or hovering above the relegation zone. Can’t see Jack being convinced to stay by that notion and he himself said we’re targeting 12th or higher this season. So we need good signings and luck with injuries & form. No one is going to be happy with another relegation scrap and I can’t see Jack sticking around or Dean continuing if that ends up being the case, we simply have to (significantly) kick on this year, hopefully we’re going to have a good season but tbh I’m concerned about squad depth and lack of options atm. We should be in a much better place by the close of the transfer window and I wouldn’t rule out any deadline day signings either. I don’t think it matters what we are saying to the press & they have no clue either. We will conduct our business privately and sensibly and hopefully shock & surprise quite a few... It actually helps our case to give off the impression that we are restricted or lack funds when, in actuality, we are loaded and have the capability (taking FFP into account) to spend big on at least one more player... hopefully we won’t be struggling with overly inflated fees then either.
  7. Just what we need, we need players pushing each other in all positions ideally. You only get in the side if you’re performing.
  8. Striker - Watkins RW - Traore I’m sure we’re working on bringing in a LW (Rashica/Sarr, maybe settle for Benrahma if unsuccessful with those two) and a CM (Barkley/RLC). Once that’s sorted, defence is the next area of concern (think the wingers will fill in at CF if/when Watkins is unavailable). We’ll likely wait til Jan to sort that though, flipping FFP. An injury to Mings, Konsa or both is a real concern and Targett needs genuine competition.
  9. Been thinking the same... a statement signing? Guarantee of further spending & improvement in coming years but, as Jack stated in a recent interview, we are aiming for 12th or higher this season so need a certain calibre of player... there will be little to no tolerance for another relegation scrap this season.
  10. The Buendia boat has sailed now sadly, now that we’ve brought in Traore for RW and our spending appears limited to 1-2 players in more pressing positions.
  11. Don’t worry, we’re no longer run by these clowns: Or managed by this one:
  12. Yeah I think we would be wise to continue to utilise loans & bring in 1 or 2, we have such a weak squad. Offloading players frees up wages so we should be able to do it, I really don’t want us to be in a situation where we lose a key player for an extended time and don’t have a decent replacement so struggle badly again.
  13. Agreed, the first XI is the priority. The best strategy is to sign superior quality so some of our first teamers are relegated to the bench, but we are limited (mainly by FFP). I just can’t forget the fact that we barely survived last season (so we cannot compare ourselves to top half teams) and the squad was shown up to be crap basically. If not for Jack we would have gone down, and I dread to think where we would end up without him should he sustain a prolonged injury. I remain positive & optimistic though and the quality of signings should ensure we can be competitive and have more of an attacking threat, have to score more goals and rely less on Jack to create & score. Hopefully we have solidified and sorted the defence out for the long term, I like the Mings & Konsa partnership and it should continue to develop & improve.
