Not much… I’ve paid less and less attention to other teams and even leagues over the years… Just focussed on Villa mainly.

Think there will be a mix of the type of signings and fees we pay… a few free transfers, low cost buys or even loans will help pad the squad out with some extra quality and worthwhile options… and we’ll spend much more on a few key additions/upgrades. Our lack of depth and the drop off when reserves came in was exposed. We weren’t great in ECL and need a better squad for CL. We have to sharpen up defensively most of all. Fully trust Unai and Monchi. I think plenty of players who are not up to standard will be moved on, including youngsters. Sure we mean business.

Unai can elevate most players but… I don’t know if he’s good in possession and can pass the ball well… any player coming in has to be really technically gifted. Is he much of an improvement on Dendoncker? Last thing we need is another version of him… it’s one thing having height and strength but we need mobility and composure on the ball… we are a passing team.

Just go on the Barkley thread, very active. Not sure Ndidi is what we need or good enough, even as a backup.

Several valid reports on Barkley (surprised you haven’t seen any), including Telegraph article. Nothing on Ndidi… unless someone on a podcast hearing “whispers” means anything…

These are utterly amazing… I’ve seen nothing better. You’ve completely covered it and there are so many brilliant, high quality options here. It’s an utter travesty that we’re not going to get anything like this or approaching this standard… I think it proves that a gold, detailed lion is the best possible and best looking option. Club have really cheaped out and opted or settled for shit basically… it’s a real shame, there are many people out there (such as yourself) that could come up with an array of brilliant designs that would all work and vastly improve on anything we have or have ever had… there clearly hasn’t even been any proper or thought out form of consultation or even expert/professional advice (imagine how many of these kinds of people we have in the fanbase that can all lend their knowledge and expertise) and guidance… it’s just the laziest possible and least amount of effort, just not good enough. Weak and cheap. FFS man we are stuck with what’s been forced on us now. Imagine a proper, classy badge reveal alongside the high quality adidas stuff we will be getting… no such luck. Plus… it’s the 150th anniversary too

Stick with the light or pale blue we’ve had on previous badges and shirts mate… the shade you keep using is truly spoiling all of your wonderful designs. Something more subtle and less saturated - I would honestly like to see them all again with the proper kind of blue. Cheers Don’t bother with shitty yellow though Gold all the way

Other than the blue… I’d go so far as to say that these are the best designs we’ve ever seen… But none of them are ever happening so… let’s avoid the pain You’ve covered every angle… if only they could have been submitted to the club for consideration and some sort of brainpower used…

All your stuff is top notch but mate… use the right shade of blue please more sky blue than neon or overly vibrant. Not too saturated and more on the pale side.

It’s VERY early days, transfer aren’t necessarily completed in order or preference of priority or need… plus the window hasn’t officially opened and it’s a good time to agree and pick up any frees or low cost deals. There really is no basis or need to feel pessimistic, worried, anxious or negative. Let’s see what happens and try to enjoy it. Look what we have achieved… Nothing to suggest we won’t spend on a quality DM or any other player, long way to go and we will just have to wait see how things pan out. Trust in Monchi and Unai… It’s going to be very busy imo. I expect some ruthlessness with players not up to standard or not reliable enough being shifted asap and proper upgrades being brought in. We are taking a big step up now to CL and need the squad for it, no passengers.

Just listened to the 1874 podcast and heard something interesting from Dan Bardell: “One of the kits has kind of got a nod to a player that’s playing at the club already imo from what I’ve heard and seen” Emi? Similar to an Argentina shirt? Jacob Tanswell: ”in terms of revenue, it’s a respectable increase like I say, it’s not the huge type of money that some of the(?) things have been briefing”
