  1. Was about to say the same thing. And it's not like it is something good in "the western culture" to make a lot of losses or have your business go under either. You can always find some professor or analyst who makes his living on trying to explain how it works in other countries, it doesn't make it gospel. To me this saving face argument is rather ignorance, of course he doesn't want to lose face and make a lot of losses, no matter if he is English, Chinese or whatever.
  2. At times his attitude and professionalism has been poor and he has had some injuries. He hasn't produced that much for us yet and only time will tell how good he can be. But he is also the player with highest potential that I have seen in a Villa shirt. He really is an amazing player who does things others just can't do. His technique, his passing, his balance and the way he goes past players is unique. He isn't right now, but I beleive ha can be one of the best English midfielders ever. Though, if his attitude drops and he gets injuries etc, he can also be a new Ravel Morrison. The price of young players are often set according to their potential, and his price should be there after or not sold at all.
  3. I'm happy to hear something is going on and that Xia perhaps is on his way out, but I'm also a bit scared of who might come in...
  4. If he goes because he wants it himself and isn't forced out it's a bit easier to come to terms with it. It's still because of the missmanagement and failure to get promoted that he will leave though. I read some rumours about Terry having played a part in his decision, thanks for that John (if true).
  5. Dr Tony went to BMH in a taxi uber, brought us back a lot of debt, now we're going under.
  6. I'd love to have him back, but rather as CEO or owner...
  7. A true professional and leader, steps up when it counts and the preassure is on. Of all the money we have squandered and excessive wages we have been giving out, Jedi is one of few who is value for the money.
  8. Compared to Spurs at least Liverpool like to pay over the odds for players.
  9. How about the idea to put the club on the public stock market? Then we could all buy shares in the club. It could also facilitate for someone (like the supporters trust?) to set up a fund for buying shares that supporters could invest in. The supporters/the fund could potentially gain quite much influence, like a place at the board, even if we don't become majority owners. Didn't Doug Ellis put us on the stock market before Lerner bought the club?
  10. A bit strange that we haven't heard anything from Bruce, isn't it? Is he still on vacation? He usually likes to speak a lot.
  11. This appeals to me, I have always wanted to own us and I could afford that. Hope I have the support of all of you!
  12. You would make a good lawyer! I'm not sure how such assurances work, but it's hard to imagine that it's in a contract, more of a gentlemans agreement perhaps. And as the future of Bruce (and of the ownership) is somewhat up in the air, I guess such assurance wouldn't be much worth anyway. Regarding Hutton playing better at left back, I'm not so sure about that. I think he has surprised quite a few of us by adapting well at left back, and some of his movement seemed to benefit by it, but I wouldn't say he is better at left back than right back. For example in the semis he switched sides as he followed Adama and was as good in both positions. He has imo definitely improved over the last years, mainly by cutting out the wreckless tackles and by more safe passing, but that's regardless of position. I would imagine he prefers to play right back as that's what he has done all his life (except when McLeish and Bruce played him right wing :-S), so it's fully thinkable imo that he said he prefered to play right back while signing the contract, if that happened or if it was met with any kind of assurances would be interesting to know.
  13. But where did you find this info? (I'm not saying you are wrong)
  14. I'm not very familiar with the Supporters Trust, but I like the sound of it. I've looked at the home page but I didn't really get a grip of what it is. Anyone who could give me some more info, for example who runs it and what influence they have? Worth donating some money to?
  15. If you would be about to employ someone and fat man with a friendly face named Keith applies, say no.
  16. Perhaps not, he met the expectations of not contributing much at all ?
  17. Under the current circumstances I'm quite happy with this. He is loved by many of the fans and we are crying out for some positive news. It also sends a signal that it's not a complete fire sale going on. And if we are to rely more on our youngsters next season it's good to have an experienced player in the squad, especially one with so good attitude as Hutton. Would be interesting to know how much he reduced his salary.
  18. Only if you add a random anti-semitic insult to that line, or if you do a Mark Bosnich type of gesture while you say it ?
  19. If they have made a £15m take it or leave it bid I would like us to respond with a £10m take it or leave it bid for Dele Alli.
