  1. Let's just hope we don't go behind first in this one! Come on Villa a win here and we are in a strong position!
  2. We did do some decent passing moves to be fair with at least a 10 pass move leading up to our first goal!
  3. Went to the game today and here are my ratings! Friedel 8/10 solid performance Cuellar 6.5/10 good defensively, little threat the other way Dunne 8/10 Commanding performance Collins 7/10 Few mistakes Warnock 6/10 One shocking hospital ball could have lead to a goal! Young 8/10 Very impressive - really got forward and created problems Petrov 7/10 Tidy but not spectacular - CM is certainly a position we will need to improve on to get to the next level. Milner 8/10 Always lively and put in a real shift! Downing 6/10 Frustrating when on the right hand side and 100 times out of 100 comes back on his left foot - just so predictable! Carew 7/10 - good goal, poor penalty and otherwise acceptable performance Gabby 6.5/10 - not his best game but created a few chances and should have scored. He's certainly stronger than last season! Great to see the Delf coming on and scoring - hopefully a future Villa legend! Decent result on the whole and 3 points which is key. Well done Villa
  4. I'm expecting to see the same line up that started vs Everton. O'Neill's pet "Heskey" to come on and not score another likely outcome. Probably will be another draw.
  5. Positives: Didn't lose and came from behind twice More playing time for Del boy Negatives: Cuellar at right back Ashley Young marking Cahill Giving the ball away too easily Not freshening the team up The Big gap behind our centre midfield that gets exposed so easily Can't say I'm thrilled with yet another draw although Everton are a decent team. The midfield mix isn't working IMO.
  6. This is a must win game yet we just do the same thing time and time again! Change something!!!
  7. 1 home league win this year and that against Burnley. No chance of winning this one now.
  8. I can't wait to see Heskey coming in after about 75 minutes - guaranteed to secure us a champions league place!
  9. What a load of rubbish. It must be so easy to plot how to defend against Villa - they always do the same thing.
  10. Predictable line up and probably a predictable home performance against a top 8 team. 2-1 win for Everton but would love to see us get the 3 points but don't think we will
  11. Sounds like Spurs have just got a new sponsor...Viagra Their only chance of getting past a semi this season
  12. I think the tots (including their fans who were quiet) really underestimated Pompey. Although by the sound of it (like in our last 2 Wembley matches) the referee did them no favours. Just hoping we can beat Pompey next week as this result will give them a massive boost
  13. Gutted! Thought we did ok up to the first goal and then we ran out of ideas because we had to take the game to them. We seem to put the ball into an area in the box rather than aiming it to someone in particular which is frustrating! Poor tactics from MON. Chelsea had used 3 subs by the time we made our first. Would have loved to have seen Delph and Delf on the pitch at 1-0 with their energy but all we got was Heskey. Uninspiring and not going to change the game or get you a goal. First we got done over by Phil Dowd and now Howard Webb! Better teams don't need any help but they seem to get it. Joke! As for the Villa fans very good support and deserved better. Heard Chelsea's first song when they scored - plastics! UTV - we lost to a good team who hopefully will go on and win the cup!
  14. There was me thinking a certain Arsenal were in the football league at the time - must have been a different club to the London based one! Or maybe we've just won 6 more in total of the main 2 competitions than Tottenham and your argument has been sliced apart again Interesting that Tottenham, a smaller amateur club, (at the time) who have been regarded as one of the top teams in the country 1 time outside 1950 to 1963 were weaker than Arsenal even then! (the southern Arsenal that is - not the northern one)
  15. Cheers for going to the trouble SimplySpurfect - glad to see the message is getting clearer we've won more majors and bigger (400% more of the main 2) Now our superior history has been confirmed - what do you make of the future for Spurs?
  16. There was me thinking we'd actually won more of both the main competitions since Spurs were a professional club as well Someone get Spurs to update their website - it must be lying. As for professional football Spurs have made a solid 36th place http://www.rsssf.com/tablese/engprof-alltime.html Sorry mate you're on the wrong site to spread any Spurs propaganda. We've won more major trophies, won bigger and been superior for 86 out of your 128 years. As much as you try and defend your buddy really it is not going to change that overall (the key measure the real world looks at) we've trumped you big time
  17. Spurs have still won 2 league titles and no European Cup and spent about 4 in 10 of the top flight years as a non top flight side
  18. General, I'm in a similar position in that if it goes down to a lower booking history there is no way I will be able to get to the ground to pick up tickets (I live over 100 miles from the ground too!) Do you know what the club will be doing to ensure these fans can still get tickets?
  19. And then the true and complete facts about Spurs in the main 2 competitions: Tottenham: League: 2 winners and 4 runner ups (6) European Cup: 0 wins. Overall 86 out of 128 years to Villa in totality (not fudged ala Glaston)
  20. only 2 league titles.....ever Huddersfield Town have won more Nuff said Have Spurs really only won the league twice?!? That's crazy, how can they call themselves a "big club" if that is the case?? We all know it and most other fans know it! They were also runners up a whopping 4 times - I think the last one was back before England won the World Cup though To be fair to them they've spent 47 years as a non top flight team so maybe comparing the 2 main competitions isn't fair
  21. Fair play to Everton in recent weeks though as they play some decent stuff and always finish strongly. I won't be confident of finishing above them until it's mathematically impossible for them to finish above us after they caught us up and overtook us so late last season!
  22. I'd be surprised if he does start to be honest as he didn't against us or United. The only possible weakness I can see is their right back Ferreira. You'll notice Young set up the goal from that side when we played them and Nani also set the goal up from there. Overall though they are pretty awesome! If we give it our all then I for one will be proud of the players. We can beat them but I just don't think we will. No shame in that though!
