  1. Spurs have probably had more money than us for most of the premiership era but we've still managed to finish above them in over 70% of those seasons. In short they make their money from: a) Expensive tickets Sponsorship c) TV money d) Recent years boosted with decent League cup/Uefa cup runs Would I swap more money for 2 league titles and no European cup? No chance!
  2. I think the tiny tots have beaten us about 2 times in 2 decades at Villa Park. Can't say I'll be losing any sleep over it!
  3. joey55: As far as I am aware he started 13 league games last season which your telling me was a good season for him. Just a flavour of some of his great performances: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7551168.stm "Sanli Tuncay, Jeremie Aliadiere and Alves were forever causing the Spurs backline - and Michael Dawson in particular - problems" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7601910.stm "After Barry had fed Young on the half-way line, he dragged Dawson in then rounded the Spurs defender before shooting weakly at the centre of goal" "Dawson, who let Young pass far too easily" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7665101.stm "There was still time for more drama in the 11 minutes of injury time as Dawson was given a straight red card for a foot-up challenge on Sidibe" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7788416.stm "The pressure eventually told when Bednar shrugged off his marker Dawson to get on the end of Cech's raking long ball and score from 10 yards out" That's just 4 of the first 8 games he started in the league! I just hope Dawson plays, I really do!
  4. Sorry, don't agree with that either. If Man United win 37 games in a row and lose the 38th does that mean they're no good?! :winkold: Back to the point over a 90 minute football match Young will be all over Corluka. He's so slow and clumsy I expect him to have a field day!
  5. Dawson is shocking, please play him! One of the most over-rated players in the league!
  6. So Hanky as I said the last 2 times he has played 90 minutes (that'll be a whole game) against Corluka he's took him to pieces! First off while playing Man City - he helped us in a 4-2 victory claiming an assist. When he played against Corluka in White Hart Lane he tore him to pieces scoring in the process. A little quote to sum it up: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/1692561/Tottenham-1-Aston-Villa-2.html "Corluka was awful and you have to hope for Tottenham's sake it was a one-off. The Croat was pulled out of position, exposed for pace by Ashley Young" Well done at clutching at straws though
  7. I think Ashley Young could be the key player. He has had the better of Corluka the 2 times he played 90 minutes against him last season...
  8. That is what worries me - let's hope MON doesn't have any problems getting the players up for this one.
  9. They've been outplayed in 3 of their last 5 games. Ok they beat a lacking in confidence Wigan side but let's put it into perspective it's only Spurs!
  10. At least we've won more top flight league titles than Huddersfield Town. Always a silver lining!
  11. There is no more annoying set of fans than Spurs in my view! We just cannot lose but a win would just be superb!
  12. We look like we're gift wrapping 3 points for Burnley at the moment! Good tactics Martin!
  13. Shocking performance at present! Our central midfield gets a nose bleed when they pass the half way line! Sort the tactics out Martin! Sidwell off and not Heskey on would be a good start!
  14. Reporting on radio Sidwell was at fault for the goal! Seems to be a regular occurance! All we need now is O'Neill to give his other favourite Emile Heskey some playing time! Out of his depth!
  15. How many games do we need to see Sidwell and Petrov in a 4-4-2 to see it doesn't work?!
  16. General, please can I congratulate the club on the ticket deals for today. Really makes a difference and the club clearly got it right for this one
  17. Could you change the team? Yes Should we change the team? No way! Will we change the team? Probably!
  18. There's been some shockers but Heskey is dire. He doesn't even seem to shoot!
  19. Hi General hope you are doing well.. Next time you bump into Martin please do me a big favour and pass him this! 20. Although I think we need to bring him on gradually at least he can improve. Heskey is rubbish and always will be!
  21. Did Heskey have one shot on target (or even off target) against Rapid Vienna? As soon as I see his name in the starting line up my confidence in O'Neill drops further!
  22. 4-0 to Liverpool with Gerrard scoring 2, Kuyt bagging 1 and Johnson 1. O'Neill will come and say we were unlucky and we are almost there and with a "wee" bit of luck our fortunes could change. Also he will state our players are getting fitter! Afterwards he will confirm he has persuaded Titus Bramble to join us and he will make him captain and Emile Heskey vice captain! Have faith!
  23. The bottom line is we have not strengthened the team when we have needed to in 2 transfer windows in a row. No motivational speech is going to cover that disturbing fact or our 2 wins in about our last 18 matches. I'll always support the Villa, but I'm a fan of action rather than words. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. The going has got tough and we haven't reacted fast enough and done little about it! Again though, I appreciate all your doing to relay messages of how ALL fans feel.
