  1. Anyone know roughly how many fans Blackburn took to Villa? Was it another mini bus job?!
  2. I have to echo the thoughts of the above poster. We've made some great improvments but the catering side (non corporate) still has some serious work to be done. Lack of stock, lack of staff and probably not the most effective payment systems. Cheers though and a happy new year :winkold:
  3. You'd probably be safe having a pint in the Rover's pubs. They've only sold 11k tickets!
  4. Huge game and one if we lose could have a massive impact on morale. I'd happily take a point now! The key for me is two things: a) Nullify Gerrard by playing 3 in central midfield like we did at Anfield Expose the loss of Mascherano by running at their central defence. Can only see Liverpool winning but I would love to be wrong! Come on Villa!
  5. Just got back from the Emirates! Thought we battled well to start with but the first goal was the turning point. Fair play to Arsenal they deserved the points today and I think a 4-5-1 (like last season when we won) might have given us a bit more control of the game. Onwards and upwards hopefully and 75% of the top four is still something to smile about!
  6. Or Spurs get in the top two of one of the main 2 competitions. After all they haven't managed that for over 45 years!!!
  7. Good result and very pleased to see the clean sheet. With Downing in midfield it feels like we have a real attacking threat which is great to see. Well done for O'Neill for rewarding the vast majority of those who impressed away at Pompey.
  8. It's weird how Lennon has never made the PFA team of the season once, or twice! Tottenham Hotspur 2 league titles and no European Cup. That's the main 2 competitions! Almost 50 years spent out of the top flight as well! Bless the tiny tots!
  9. I wonder if COYS discuss Spurs 2 league titles and no European Cup and their almost half a century spent out of the top flight!
  10. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-512441/The-egos-landed-Spurs-Trotters-turn-rotters.html Says it all for me!
  11. Good result. Suddenly with a central midfielder who can run with the ball look forward rather than backwards we look a team! Hoping Young steps it up a gear now after that decent performance. Heskey should now start in front of John Carew. If you score you should keep your place! Great away following from Villa - took the stand over!
  12. Already outperformed Spurs in 2 out of the 4 competitions! The 2 league title tiny tots were obviously too busy believing their own hype after getting a draw!
  13. O'Neill was pretty clueless with his tactics second half. He really needed to do something to change the game. Worrying signs.
  14. With Ekotto handballing it at one end and Thierry Dawson using his arm to score it is clear that Spurs have got lucky again.
  15. Spurs have probably had more money than us for most of the premiership era but we've still managed to finish above them in over 70% of those seasons. In short they make their money from: a) Expensive tickets Sponsorship c) TV money d) Recent years boosted with decent League cup/Uefa cup runs Would I swap more money for 2 league titles and no European cup? No chance!
  16. I think the tiny tots have beaten us about 2 times in 2 decades at Villa Park. Can't say I'll be losing any sleep over it!
  17. joey55: As far as I am aware he started 13 league games last season which your telling me was a good season for him. Just a flavour of some of his great performances: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7551168.stm "Sanli Tuncay, Jeremie Aliadiere and Alves were forever causing the Spurs backline - and Michael Dawson in particular - problems" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7601910.stm "After Barry had fed Young on the half-way line, he dragged Dawson in then rounded the Spurs defender before shooting weakly at the centre of goal" "Dawson, who let Young pass far too easily" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7665101.stm "There was still time for more drama in the 11 minutes of injury time as Dawson was given a straight red card for a foot-up challenge on Sidibe" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7788416.stm "The pressure eventually told when Bednar shrugged off his marker Dawson to get on the end of Cech's raking long ball and score from 10 yards out" That's just 4 of the first 8 games he started in the league! I just hope Dawson plays, I really do!
  18. Sorry, don't agree with that either. If Man United win 37 games in a row and lose the 38th does that mean they're no good?! :winkold: Back to the point over a 90 minute football match Young will be all over Corluka. He's so slow and clumsy I expect him to have a field day!
  19. Dawson is shocking, please play him! One of the most over-rated players in the league!
  20. So Hanky as I said the last 2 times he has played 90 minutes (that'll be a whole game) against Corluka he's took him to pieces! First off while playing Man City - he helped us in a 4-2 victory claiming an assist. When he played against Corluka in White Hart Lane he tore him to pieces scoring in the process. A little quote to sum it up: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/1692561/Tottenham-1-Aston-Villa-2.html "Corluka was awful and you have to hope for Tottenham's sake it was a one-off. The Croat was pulled out of position, exposed for pace by Ashley Young" Well done at clutching at straws though
  21. I think Ashley Young could be the key player. He has had the better of Corluka the 2 times he played 90 minutes against him last season...
  22. That is what worries me - let's hope MON doesn't have any problems getting the players up for this one.
  23. They've been outplayed in 3 of their last 5 games. Ok they beat a lacking in confidence Wigan side but let's put it into perspective it's only Spurs!
