  1. Thanks for reply. I realised this too, but i really want to have a club badge on it to show I am a proud villa fan (although only supporting villa for a few months)...
  2. Thanks a lot for your help, guys. I have a wall in my home office that hangs all scarfs - this means I prefer to have a club badge vertically (along the long side of the scarf) near the end of it. It will be great to have words 'Aston Villa FC' on it too, but less important than the badge. (great to have both) It is for presentation after all. This means a lot of designs are not suitable for my particular need - especially for those traditional ones - what a pity....
  3. Merry Christmas, VT! I wonder if anyone can help me on this. I plan to buy myself a Christmas gift (wife not keen on football...) - a scarf - to add to my collection of football club scarfs I have at home. Of course Villa will replace AC Milan to take the captain position of my scarf first XI.. I went to AVFC online shop, google, Amazon, quite a few designs. To my surprise there are only 1-2 designs available at official online shop.. I want to have the most popular design, perhaps as traditional as possible, but definitely having the club logo and the words for example 'Aston Villa FC' on it. Is this good? or this? Thanks!
  4. Yeah. Newcastle may drop even more points before Xmas. But I would rather Brighton loses. Tomorrow 3pm, an away loss vs Cardiff City. And we win. 10 points gap - very nice indeed.
  5. Looking back the last 5 seasons, Only Leicester managed to have more than 93 points in 13-14, and they won the league. I would guess 90-95 points will be enough for auto promotion this season, which means we need 65-70 points in the last 28 games, meaning 20 wins at least. Very hard indeed, if not impossible. To hit the play-off zone, only 75 points are needed - 50 points in the next 28 games, 13-14 wins will do. If we can keep up the current form, this is not hard at all. To be honest, I won't even be too surprised if we indeed have 20 wins in 28 games in this league. One thing I learned from watching approx. 20 games this season in Championship (not a lot I know...) is - most clubs are very very average, as long as we are doing ok, we will get to top 3-4 easily.
  6. I agree. I am happy with 9 wins and 1 loss.
  7. Interesting read. Don't think this deal has been completed, but if it goes through, it may damage the popularity of Premier League in China (in terms of TV/internet broadcasting) as PPTV runs a very badly-received pay-to-watch type of membership. Hopefully CCTV (which is like BBC in UK) still gets 1 game per match day so it is basically free to watch. Interestingly, PPTV is owned by Suning (as pointed out in the article), who has spent billions of euros recently in football (including completing the ownership transfer of Inter Milan). Suning has a real ambition in European football due to need of market extension. There was rumour that Suning will also come to English football - but that may not happen in near future.
  8. ' We were asking him about how much money Villa would spend in the next transfer window and things like that.' Xia: hmm.. 2b, decided.
  9. we are the better side. We should be the better side in the league table too.
  10. ''Xia looks at his pocket, having a mixed feeling now.... ''
  11. Although it might truly become the edge of the UK, soon. Sorry, can't help.
  12. Villakram, i think you are right in the sense of in British culture, people do not call themselves Dr. even if they have doctorate degree and work as a faculty in university. However this is very 'British'. In America (where Tony got his PhD from), PhD graduate will normally have a Dr. title in front of their names. Even Assistant Professor (equivalent to Lecturer in Britain) will be called Prof. X, rather than Mr. X or Dr. X. 'those who have a desperate desire to self-promote' is simply not true, and it is due to culture difference.
  13. Very good man management. I can only assume Jack will train even harder to pay back to the manager on the pitch.
  14. Well... I disagree. I think he was out of his position in that particular play, which leads to your conclusion of 'Even if he had Usain Bolt's pace he was never going to make any difference there'. And that play was us 4 defs vs Reading 3 attackers. I didn't expect him to be Bolt, but I would expect him to at least sprint back for defending a possible 2nd chance, or at least reorganizing the defensive line for Reading's pushing forward. He showed little intention of that in that particular play, hence my post on ' I don't think it is because he cannot run physically.', which i really meant either he hasn't had best fitness, or he lose his strong physicality/mentality (which is why I like him as a player). I have to say my post was based on that particular play, so let me clarify I didn't mean his performance is poor throughout the game. In fact from what I heard, his performance has been better than what he showed in previous games. But I would expect much more than that, as he is one of the players I like most in the current team (I was 'hoping' Villa could get Jedinak well before the rumour came out...). It was probably a few 'inappropriate' wordings in my post that made you think I hate Jedinak, I really don't (expect on the day when we play against each other Jan 2015 of course). PS: I still remember when I lived in Australia a long time ago, the best player I liked most was him.
  15. Not impressed by Jedinak's performance at all. The penalty we conceded showed how poor he is now. One simple pass from Reading's defender sees no protection whatsoever in front of our back four. He was walking back slowly, then we conceded a penalty. I don't think it is because he cannot run physically. If you don't fight like a maddog as a defensive mid, and if you are nowhere near Andrea Pirlo, don't even play the game.
  16. To be honest, if what you said was true, we all must have visited a therapist for many times in the last couple of months....
