I happen to follow his club quite closely. He is happy, but he is just not good enough to play in that club. You might think he should be good enough to be a super star for Chinese league, truth is, he is very poor after a few injuries since last season and he is not good enough for the club he plays for at the moment. I seriously doubt he will do better in English leagues.

In addition to the tickets, imo what is really great about Dr is he managed to bring back the passion and the feeling of belonging of the fans, which all end up with great support on and off the pitch. Twitter is magical.

Totally agreed. That is probably why RDM got a 2 year contract. He has to secure a play-off place to be on a safer side at the end of this season. If a few more signings (especially a 'world-class' number 9) are completed before deadline, I would say top 2 is the bottom line from the owner's perspective. That said, I may have totally underestimated the competitiveness in this league.

I gotta say RDM must be having a mixed feeling now Good, in a way that the owner gives him whatever he wants in his squad. a lot of pressure too - he has to deliver, at least taking the club to the play-offs. Otherwise, I personally will think this season is a fail.

A few posters asked why Tony said this. Let me explain this - Drogba had links with a Chinese football club (Shanghai Shenhua) a few years ago and he played for the club alongside Anelka. He didnt get paid (you may remember from my post about Chinese football, that owner is an idiot) and sued the club on FIFA court. Xia simply meant to point out Drogba's bad experience a few years ago with a Chinese club and a Chinese owner. That's all.
