  1. this seems to be doing the rounds. Think the no big jump in death rates thing is pretty obvious given that there have only been 1200 or so deaths associated with this in a month or more, a good chunk of which may well have died anyway given the ages/existing health conditions. In other news Kate Mcann is trending on twitter after telling people to stay indoors to protect our weaker ones. As you can imagine the reactions to that are rather amusing if a little on the dark side.
  2. another 260 deaths in the uk. Takes the total over 1000 (1019) Just under 7000 tests done yesterday, 35% of them positivie. Seems that these are still pretty much only people being hospitalised (& celebs/politicians i guess) so who knows how many are not in the numbers that have just died at home & are not being included in the deaths. May aswell just use random number generators for everything really.
  3. Spain keeps going up. 832 deaths & 8000 new cases in past 24 hours,
  4. Could have at least put the music before it
  5. Nearly 1000 dead in italy today, Doesn't look like their lockdown has had much/any effect to the deaths. 1,919 combined dead in Italy, Spain & the UK in 24 hours. The small numbers are quickly starting to become big numbers now
  6. halfway through, today has not been a productive working from home day...
  7. at least they are getting some sort of idea of numbers rather than the complete guesswork over here. They have done more than half a million tests so far compared to our 100000 or so. If you are testing more people you are going to record more cases. the 11,658 number of cases in the uk is completely meaningless
  8. If ever there is a time to be locked in your house i guess this is probably the best time of year to do it, Not too hot, not too cold so don't need central heating or fans to try and stay at a comfortable temp. Bit of sunshine & generally warm enough to sit in the garden if you have one. Would be far less fun doing this in the middle of summer/winter
  9. Still the same really, Feel ok for the most part but still out of breath easy & struggle a bit at night, same for you?
  10. up 103 today to 578. If the 2 weeks behind italy thing was correct we should have passed 1000 today so looks like it is progressing more slowly over here
  11. That would be Michelle Dockery, Better known for being in Downton Abbey (Mary Crawley) although she was in that stupid Liam Neeson Non Stop film a few years back too
  12. a shitload, half a million or more worldwide. If it was something new like corona the lockdowns would be far worse than this as there would be 10,000 dying every day rather than 20,000 total in 3 months, a good chunk of which would have probably died anyway given the average age is around 80 This year in the states : With flu season still winding down, at least 144 children younger than 18 have died, a toll topped only by the 2009 H1N1 pandemic since health authorities began tracking flu data in 2004. So far this season, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recorded 36 million flu cases in the U.S., with 370,000 hospitalizations and 22,000 deaths. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2020-03-20/coronavirus-pandemic-overshadows-a-deadly-flu-season This is actually down a good chunk on the past couple of years 18/19 in the states 35,000 flu deaths 17/18 in the states 61,000 flu deaths
  13. Are you any better/worse in general than yesterday? mine definitely seems worse in the evenings so could just be a thing i guess, seem to start out ok in the morning but gradually get worse through the day. Thankfully it is much better than it was but still isn't right 7 days now after the worst of it last wednesday.
  14. Brmingham players on more than 6k per week are only taking 50% of their wages from next month to keep the non playing staff employed & paid. Payment is just being defered & the other 50% will be paid back later in the year in 4 installments if/when football resumes.
  15. Had some blue ones like that when i was in Madrid 20 odd years ago basically just soleless moccasins. Most of the floors were tiled so great for sliding about in
  16. For those concerned about MOT, looks like you don't have to worry for a bit
  17. That video has nothing on the guy with one arm eating a frog .......... You have been warned, the link below has a video of a guy "eating" a live frog, it is not pleasant. https://twitter.com/Kenny_UK_/status/1242597873142968320
  18. He does a lot of stuff for talksport whenever italian football is discussed but Always seemed a decent enough sensible bloke. One of those like Tim vickery for south american sport/life, & guillem balague (spain), Todd Macklin (Canada/us) that seem to pop up on every radio/tv show whenever someone from a certain place is needed
  19. Good luck chap, Honestly if you are struggling to form sentences without gasping for breath just get yourself to hospital. I know it goes against all the advice but don't wait for an ambulance, you'll be waiting hours. just get someone to drive you there & run in and tell them that you are in the car & need to be seen now. I know respiritatory issues are not going to help but the one slight thing you have in your favour here is you already know what is good/bad/very bad for you as far as breathing goes rather than getting completely freaked out at the first signs of shortness of breath so if it is starting to get towards the very bad end then start making plans to shift yourself asap
  20. Seems like they are paying people for the hours worked in march, then staff to be furloughed as the business is closed, next payment will be the 80% promised by the government next month. Seems pretty much the same as every other business that has been forced to close. Sure the guys a cock but don't really see an awful lot wrong here, If people want to get another job in the meantime to try and earn more money rather than being furloughed then feel free to do so and if you want to come back when we are open you will be first in line.
  21. the only difference between yesterday & today is a few more shops are closed, & most of them were closing last night anyway
  22. Maybe this guy is actually a genius https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-8143727/High-temperatures-humidity-significantly-slow-spread-coronavirus.html As the weather grew warmer and more humid in 100 Chinese cities researchers at Beihang University and Tsinghua University found that the transmission rate of COVID-19 fell. 'High temperature and high relative humidity significantly reduce the transmission of COVID-1, the study authors wrote.
  23. surprising amount of things that can currently stay open, Evans cycles are staying open despite having a huge online business & seems that they are perfectly entitled to, In fact so important are they that they make the list twice. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/874732/230320_-_Revised_guidance_note_-_finalVF.pdf Supermarkets and other food shops, health shops, pharmaciesincluding non-dispensing pharmacies, petrol stations, bicycle shops, home and hardware shops, laundrettes and dry cleaners, bicycle shops, garages, car rentals, pet shops, corner shops, newsagents, post offices, and banks Nearly every job on there is minimum wage, with plenty of zero hour contracts thrown in. Who would have thought that the little people are the most important Think boris must have one of these posters on his wall with his exercise/bicycle obsession
  24. keep hawksbee & jacobs. Enjoy their show but that's all i listen to on there now
