  1. He's only been linked with a move back to Spain at present. I'd love him at Villa and wouldn't cost a bomb either. Not quite sure what the hell happened with him at Swansea!?
  2. We could always sign him for £20m and insert a clause in his contract where he can go to another team if they're willing to pay us a £10m buyout...
  3. Yeah my mate who is a Tesco fan said exactly the same, he even brought him a drink after the semi final in a rather a shady snooker club round my way lol he said a lot of them were sound and quite talkative tbf. I play for Tesco, tell him I said thanks.
  4. We should only sign him if he agrees to grow his viking beard out. We've waited long enough for the new Mellberg.
  5. Can't Villa Talk go head to head with this bid? We don't have enough to buy the club, neither do they, we've got a chance here guys. In all seriousness, if they need to lend money to actually purchase the club, how are they planning to fund transfers? Any deal that puts the club in debt just in order to be purchased is bat shit crazy. Lerner wouldn't go for that, even if he does want out. He's spent so long sorting out the finances, chucking the club back into the red for no good reason would be madness. If they have raised £75 million why don't they take-over a club where they could buy them for say £25 million and then build them up. None of it makes any sense, they would have to chuck £75 million of debt on to Villa to fund it and also want to get involved with Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon and a few other clubs at the same time? Nothing adds up at all.
  6. That turn for the last goal was immense, not even mentioning the strike. The next Tim Cahill in the making. Let's sign him. Youtube always seals the deal for me.

    set pieces

It was embarressing today, I could put in better corners and I haven't played football for about 10 years! When these players are 'earning' tens of thousands of pounds a week, the very least you should expect is to get a cross over head height. Sometimes a low drilled one can work but they were weak scuffs. It's a disgrace to be honest, it's becoming a bit of a trend at a lot of teams these days, not just Villa. Really strange, not to mention annoying.
  8. The effort and work-rate was there with him but he was still clumsy in the tackle and poor in possession, you can tell there's a player there but he wasn't showing much of it today. He was never hiding though which is a positive.

    My Holte End

As promised! Had a good day minus the hangover, freezing cold, poor game of football, result and getting out of Birmingham. Apart from that, woo hoo!
  10. Thanks for the advice. Just booked my two tickets now. L6 in the Holte End, can't wait!
  11. Thank you very much. Saves me having to buy in advance for both of us. Really looking forward to it. UTV!
  12. I haven't been for years but I'm in the Midlands this weekend so me and a friend (Liverpool fan) are wanting to go to this game. Can you buy tickets on the day?

    My Holte End

Living away from Birmingham I haven't really had the opportunity to see many games over the years, all but 1 have been from the Holte End though, the atmosphere in there has always been class, the other game was in the North Stand and not a patch on the Holte End though. Some really great memories. It's been years since I've been to a game live as I live and also support Wrexham so most of my weekends are following them. I'm sorry to slightly diverge from the topic but it's somewhat related and I can't make a new thread as a newbie. My querie is that because it's been so long since I've been to a game I have no idea of parking. I'm visiting an old friend in Coventry on Friday night and on my return to North Wales on Saturday I've decided to take advantage and take in Sherwood's first game from the wonderful Holte End. I'll be on my own so may look a bit of a weirdo but I don't care. Anyways, back to my question, I am wondering where the best place to park is, not too far away as I don't know the area at all as it's been so long, I don't mind paying a couple of quid but I don't want to be fleeced either. Just hoping some of you friendly folk could help me out on places you'd recommend and/or avoid please? Apologies again for going off on a bit of a tangent but I wasn't sure how else to get any informed answers. To make it more relevant I will upload pics from my return to the Holte End if that helps matters.

    Hi there

Supported Villa for 20 years now through some pretty good times under Brian Little to not so good of late... Looking forward to discussing all things Villa, especially with Sherwood just arriving, suspect it won't be boring! Thanks.
