  1. Moretto is legit (assuming that's a genuine quote from him).
  2. Isn't it a fact that he had a groin injury? Not sure someone is a "bedwetter" for not having the insider knowledge that he'd fully recovered and was in training today
  3. Spanish reporter on twitter I've not heard of before has said there's talk Marcos Alonso has an offer from Villa as he's not been registered by Barca this season.

    Keinan Davis

Feels like a bit of a shocker to not have capatalised on the peak of his value last summer.
  5. Marseille fans seemed to think the opposite. He got on quite well for them last season and put up a lot of great numbers offensively and has a lot of good qualities, just there's obviously a lot of his game that needs smoothing out.
  6. Think Tavares could be a really fun signing, especially if he comes in to just compete with Moreno rather than relied upon to start every game. He has heaps of ability and would suit that marauding full back role perfectly, he just has a lot to iron out in his game which there's no better man than Emery to help him out with.
  7. Forgive my ignorance but will there still be a chance it ends up on TNT anyway despite BBC Scotland having said they're showing it?
  8. I think it's a bit disappointing as it appears to be the case that he was rated and wanted to be part of the squad this season, as opposed to cases like Ramsey and Archer where it seems like Emery doesn't fancy them too much. Can't really argue if he wants to leave and they can get a decent fee for him though.
  9. Bailey not even looking up for McGinn is this season's Mings not looking Gerrard in the eye.
  10. That is how it goes here alright As it goes Moretto seems to be one of the good ones so I'd believe him more than most.
  11. Aston Villa and Sevilla are still negotiating for Marcos Acuña but to this day Villa are not close to what Víctor Orta is asking for. The player already has everything agreed with Aston Villa
  12. I think he's a good player but a style of one that has very suddenly become a bit outdated in modern football at the top level. He's quite a traditional full back and has good quality in terms of his delivery, set-pieces etc but is a bit physically lacking in terms of pace and general size/strength, and doesn't suit either the pseudo-winger role that a Moreno would play nor the more withdrawn one on the other side. Even despite the money I can see why they'd be looking for a better fit, but he's a good player.
  13. He's the kind of a player where, despite his talents, if he signed for another PL team I'd think he was just one of those players that wouldn't be a success and struggle to settle to the league. However he's signing for Villa so he's going to be brilliant.
  14. People are too eager to be seen to be right when it comes to this stuff and get on the high horse to write it off straight away, be it the Buendia stuff and Grealish injuries previously that ended up being true or the heaps of incorrect claims. It only serves to add to the circus. Can only see what happens and hope all is fine.
  15. Don't think we can really say that with any certainty. I mean if you go off their respective careers prior to either joining Villa, Acuna is/was the more widely-rated and decorated player. Cups in Portugal, Europa League winner while playing in Spain, plus the World Cup, Copa America etc. If he signs and then plays well then it's not some guarantee that Moreno walks back in.
  16. Probably reading people tracking his flight online thinking "is it too late to get out of this".
  17. Akpom to Ajax has been confirmed. Obviously the reports and likely reality is that Archer will prefer a Premier League move, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Boro make even more of a push for him too.
  18. I like the versatility of it in terms of he suits playing the offensive left back role like Moreno has, but equally he could probably do a good job of playing the wide midfielder role in front of the wide CB. For example in pre-season when Konsa/Chambers played as the more defensive full back tucking into CB, Philogene did a good job of playing in front and holding the width in attack and essentially becoming a wing back in defence. Acuna could do that on the other flank in front of Torres were that to be tried again.
  19. Good few reliable people saying this now. Safe to say the interest is more than there regardless if folk think it makes sense or not.
  20. Found this an interesting one. This guy - who is a good follow for what it's worth - only really posts about tactical stuff and doesn't get involved in any kind of speculation outside of the odd time he might hear something. Not sure if he's just reiterating that he got Zaniolo right or he's hinting at Acuna/Montiel also.
  21. Feel like in much the same way that Mings and Konsa suited each other as a partnership, he and Torres are the best for one another out of the other CBs at the club. Fitness permitting would be interesting to see how they worked alongside one another.
  22. Kudus was linked to Brighton previously, West Ham now apparently in for him too. Could do with getting in on that.
  23. Matteo Moretto - an actually reliable guy out of Spain - has linked us to Marcos Acuna.
  24. Without sounding miserable, for all of his undoubted ability he's the kind of player that if he signed for another PL side I'd assume he'd fail to find his feet in the league and end up being a bit of a dud signing because he just has some of the hallmarks of one. However if he can click then he has a lot of the attributes you'd want in a forward player, and we really, really need one right now. Hopefully it gets sorted ASAP.
