I think this year and next years figures are combined for FFP? Having said that if we are in a very good position points wise when the January window comes round if I were them I would spend the minimum summer budget that would have been made available in summer 21 available because it should be easier to sign some quality and help this season. As for figures god knows what they are, we spent about half of what we did last season but the wage bill will most certainly be higher now and on top of that it’s about what the two owners are willing to put in. They have put in so much already they couldn’t make it back by selling us so it’s down to their motivation too.

Even if it is more you just make a judgement on what he is worth to us next July. You would hope if it reaches 40 or 50 like some here are saying that the club just moves on to a foreign player who is much younger, so you can at least have the option of recouping a lot of the money or more later down the line and probably on less per year than Ross too.

I’d be surprised if the club didn’t stick a option to purchase him into the deal. People saying he would cost 50m are way off the mark though, this is a player they need to get rid of and is significantly older than when they were going to spend 40 million on him. I’d pay 30 if this season goes well 35 at a push. People have to remember for a club to sell there has to be a buyer willing to pay the fee and his big wages. Because if his age you can’t sell him on for a big fee after a few years too, all this has to be factored in.

It was happening all game, I know they changed tactics but even when swapping roles they would stick to that role. honestly I think we would have rolled them if we did.

Delighted for the win obviously as everyone else is. I felt the team shape was all wrong though due to what three of the players were doing which everyone seems to be saying did well in the game. McGinn, Barclay and Trez. Barclay kept coming to deep, McGinn keep going forward too much and Trez didn’t seem to be trusted by his team mates to switch the play to him from the left hand side. Unpopular I know. When Traore came on the play switched much more which stretches the opposition. The midfield was muddled because McGinn’s primary role in a 4231 is to break up play, give a progressive pass and to fill in for the full back that has gone forward for the overload. Barclay should always be on of the options for that progressive pass, he doesn’t need to come back for the ball because the 6 that are back when the opposition aren’t countering should be enough to defend the ball, eventually winning for the front 4 with the two full backs overloading if they can get up in time. Hopefully that is fixed for Friday as whatever people think of Leeds they are one of those teams that are system orientated and it will get exploited.

I thought Iheanacho would have been a good buy but he would have been third choice of the three I put forward.
