Yeah the usual suspects from last season aren't going to get us anywhere. They had more of the ball than than we had in games last season and we had a period of dominance but what they are doing with the ball still isn't up to standard. Bacuna and Hutton in particular. Gardener was anonymous. Also worrying Gollini made a mistake and was shaky per season too. If we've signed a dud there we can say goodbye to any chance of promotion.

You havin' a laff m8? Those two are utter clowns of players who made a living off having one good game which MOTD highlighted (because they are English) in 2009. They shouldn't be anywhere near this club....best defence in the league based on faux reputation and not actual facts....see last season for the overwhelming evidence.

You are right it is a a lot of money for a Championship Club to pay a 29 year old striker. (we paid £7m for Benteke!) However from his youtube vid looks like he can create from nothing which is also what we need. Get him in.

Does anybody know anything about Sheffield Wednesday's team? Why is this a "tough opener" other than them being a "big club" and us being terminally crap? Do they have any decent players who will cause us problems? This is a journey to the unknown...we are playing teams that I would suggest most of us couldn't even name one of their players. Feels odd.

True, result are meaningless in friendlies. However we do get to see the limitations of the team which are obvious to see even for a blind man. We have an embedded losing culture (especially at home) ingrained over 5 years...this isn't going to change overnight. Lacking in every department.
