So you reckon Sarri would recall him ?Tammy is a proper no 9 so should back up Morata nicely since Giroud supposedly injured & Morata is not performing. Just don’t think any of the top 4-5 teams play with no 9 regularly anymore . Also , if report is true they just signed a US striker Pulisic, which is another false 9 in the Pedro mold. So Tammy should be with us till end of season.

Think we are safe as Tammy’s not Sarri kind of player , if you see his playing style in Napoli. He favors nimble false 9 type like Pedro/Hazard etc , even their first choice No.9 type like Giroud / Morata hardly features.

If DS can convince & convert Kodjia into a false nine , similar to Liv’s Mane he can be a great player. He has technical ability but is mindset is too selfish to pass/ creat chances for teammates. I watched lots of premiership games all these false nine will try to beat their men , drawn defenders / creat space in order pass to teammates in better open position.The only thing on Kodgia mind is beat his men & shoot. Even the last assist when he lay off for Hourihane is out of circumstances is due he almost loss the ball ..

That’s the price we pay for not emphasising on technical/ creative abilities when signing midfielders ... previous regime simply stock pile on old work horse like Whelsn/Jedinak / Thor etc .. even Mcggin is not the fully creative type .

Yes beside Grealish, O Hare seemed the only central midfielder with composure / that can keep possession/ circulate ball intelligently.

For Hogan to be effective , we need creative & sharp midfielders who reads games well / quick release/slide weighted ball thru .. all our midfielders are accumulated by Bruce , the Whelans / Jedinak/ Hourihane etc don’t have such skill set, maybe only Grealish or even O Hare. Would like to see them given games & see what happens ..am sure DS knows what Hogan game strength is as he got him scoring regularly previously.

Agreed. they played a similar style / level as premier league team ., movement / passing is very fluid ... their players don’t dwell on the ball too long / always release the ball to teammate in better position etc...Hope DS will sort us out !

If our defensive players Whelan/ Elmo etc players are this leggy tonight after resting 6 days , can’t imagine this coming festive congested features ... oh dear

None of our players have the close ball / vision for a thru pass / Our so call skill players are basically wingers who need big space to run & operate .. it’s too easy to defense against

I think so too. Don’t need to be big if you have close ball control/ sharp turn to get away / drifting into spaces to receive pass etc. .. these are attribute in the modern game in congested midfield.. even in defense duties , I notice on more on occasion now , defense midfielder do not go in full tackle to win ball , they just tap/ push it to break attackers momentum & than circulate the loose ball quickly & turn defense into within seconds... ... we will struggle in our push if we don’t have a creative guy in middle as Mcggin is more work rate / long shooting than creating. In Stoke game we really struggle without a creative player in the middle

The playoff is best we can hope for, judging from this performance . Nothing happened in the middle & we were lucky to get penalty & Kodjia goals..
