a Eriksen/Bernardo Silva more intelligent & calm type would be better to slowing down / circulating ball / doing Rondo / better touches & ball control & making a opponent chasing round like a monkey tiring them out in the process. These will lessen pressure , as evidently today the ball keep coming back as players simply can’t engineer a outball & keep possession.

Someone commented earlier Smith wanted the players to play higher up & not defend deep , but our players were too tired to carry out ... I can’t understand as few Arsenal players played on Thursday Europa games & our guys had the whole week off.. just feel that not many of ours have a technical skill/ calm composure/ quick passing ability to hold / circulate the ball to a teammate & cut opponents momentum. These traits of a modern team but i can’t see any of our players do it. We either pump it long / or dwell on it too long & dispossessed.. hopefully Smith see these weakness & sign such type players in Jan window.

Jota is never a traditional winger , & will continue to struggle on the wing if there’s no same wavelength teammates supporting him , creating angles /making intelligent runs/ quick feet one touch passing that cuts thru defenses etc. Probably need teammates in the mound of Mount / Harry Wilson type of player which we unfortunately don’t have. Its a pity as Jota is suitable for the modern procession game most top teams are playing now.

Yes I agree. It’s much easier to get a skillful player to bulk up in gym, as compare to teaching a big guy to develop skill/ guile/ game intelligence etc

Playing against 10 men we should be playing procession football / stretching opponents & making use of our numerical advantage. Playing crosses into their box make no sense as it’s so easy to defend against.

Our style won’t win against a 10 men team , who pack their defense. We don’t have any skillful / creative player to open up defense
