  2. I would imagine a sporting director will represent the sporting interests of the board (as opposed to the financial interests or commercial interest of other C-levels). Things like ensuring we have a coherent coaching structure from 5 yr old to youth team, hire youth coaches, physios, PT's, scouting networks Basically his job would be everything except run the the senior teams. ... and hire Tim Sherwoods replacement when and if that ever comes
  3. You would be surprised what an NDA and threat of being sued for multiple millions can do.
  4. As someone with significant experience dealing with UK Border Agency, this deal could be completed anytime between now and 2019.
  5. If you look at his linked in profile, he is an M&A lawyer... I doubt he would the person taking the screenshot, maybe just the lead legal contact for the deal. I'm with you, this proves nothing at all. If it is genuine and lets face it anyone can type information into a screen and take a photo. If you look at Baring Private Equity Asia website it does not look like a typical investment for them. I have pasted in a link below if anyone is interested. http://www.bpeasia.com/?page_id=6 If it is genuine how does this prove the deal is dead? If it is genuine and its Rodzoch Tomasz's PC he is in serious trouble. A confidentiality agreement will almost certainly been breached
  6. Bit rich for brummies to be taking the piss out of another culture's accent
  7. Looks like stubhub, ebay and gumtree have blacklisted the event, and I'm not touching craigslist (even with pictures). Anyone used other sites like ticketbis, kixfootballtickets, footballticketpad, footballtickettrade etc... Any experiences / recommendations?

Has anyone used any of these online second market sites before? (Kix, GoFootball etc) I'm tempted to shell out but not if it doesn't guarantee anything... might as well take my chances with a tout on the day

OptaJoe ✔ @OptaJoe Follow 11 - Only one team in top-flight history (Leicester 11 in 1977/78) have scored fewer goals after 25 games than Villa this term (12). Drought
  11. At Ajax, playing incredibly, incredibly poorly and has become somewhat of a joke-figure amongst their fans. Given the promise displayed at the birth of his career, it is both astounding and saddening to see what's become of him. Why is that? Partying too much, or just actually not very good?
  12. You said you were only bothered about the club being run properly, thats why you wanted Lerner out and nothing to do with just wanting someone to spend a shit loads on players? The club being run properly means having us competitive, not ensuring a billionaire is OK. We're a professional sports club. No one wants Lerner to bankrupt himself and no one wants the club to get itself in a financial mess. But for the past 18 months we've backed the manager with a pretty poor amount. You just can't get your head around the idea that there's something in between surviving on the cheap and spunking endless amounts of cash. I don't know why? I imagine its because if you acknowledges that you couldn't moan at other fans. If you just want to watch someone spunk a load of cash go and buy a league, there are plenty of choices for you. Just not here thanks I don't give 2 **** what Lerner (or any other owner of Villa) does with his money, as long as the club is run properly and sustainably.
  13. And its this attitude that makes you come across as a pathetic supporter of Lerner more concerned about the finances of a billionaire than the club you support. No one forced him to buy the club but he did and he has a responsibility to make us competitive. This is professional sport at the end of the day. The fact he has **** up should not mean that the club and the fans suffer. Why you're happy for us to suffer while a ridiculously wealthy man makes sure he keeps his money is beyond me. How do you pay your mortgage each month? Lerner **** up with MON and Houllier, and I'm glad he doesn't continue to **** up now... shows he can actually run a company.
  14. As is believing a club with an expected near 100m income vs 40-45m wage bill, and a regular 35k plus home attendance can't afford to buy anyone. In fact you'd have to be **** barmy to believe we can't. We CAN, we just have an owner that doesn't WANT to. Major difference to not being able to financially Randy doesn't give two shits about anything other than staying afloat in the PL and he's happy to take a gamble with that. Plain and simple. And it's us that suffer from his constant bad decisions. But please no more of this we can't afford it bullshit. Obviously never run a business (or even had a credit card by the sounds of it). Just because you can blow all your cash, doesn't mean you should.
  15. So says who? Edit: Is that your own tweet? ITK shocking really that we haven't even bothered to bid for either of them. Ince is off to Palace and Holtby to Fulham, would we honestly not be a more favourable club to come to then a relegation threatened club who have lost 16 games this season and Palace?? Why? Ince is overrated and a winger. Holtby I suspect you (as I have) have never seen beyond the few average minutes he got at Spurs and so have no idea if he's worth 70k pw.
  16. Can you lot STFU about Bent, Carew, Young, Mcleish, Houllier etc? [/pink] This is a TRANSFER SPECULATION thread.
  17. That is some shit hot defending, right there...
  18. To be fair, 2 years is a long time in the world. I could claim anything could happen in the next two years (a terrorist attack, a stock market correction, Arsenal winning the league) and it would be fairly likely to happen by coincidence and I would look like a Nostradamus.
  19. x2 I'd forgotten about those two. Thompson was shite but would occasionally score a screamer with his left foot. Curcic believed his hype from Bolton Also, Mustapha Hadji. Was player of the tournament at one African cup of nations if I remember and then did nothing ever again.
  20. I guess recents years of McLeish & co has lowered everyone's expectations of what counts as quality at this club. Personally, players like Milner, Ian Taylor or even George Boateng are an acceptable standard of a midfielder. Lets look at some similar style players from clubs at or near the 7th/8th position we should be aiming for. Steven Pienaar, Lucas Leivva, de Guzman, Adam Lallana. Would you put Delph anywhere near them? Even on "potential"? I wouldn't.
  21. Everyone keeps replyinh that he's our best player... but what exactly is he bringing to the team? Can't pass, can't shoot, he tackles well but picks up bookings like its going out of fashion, and then loses the ball anyway. What is it that you're all seeing?
  22. I answered that already mate. Because when you play "counter-attacking" football, you're trying to take advantage of the opposition being out of position. Holding onto the ball and/or drawing a foul gives them time to re-organise.
