  1. Tells it like it is, yes. Knows how to operate on a budget, yes. Walrus, most definetly. The man to bring us forward? No not for me. He is the sort of a manager that can get the best out of very average players and hard workers. I know he didn't have long at Newcastle but he didn't seem to be able to manage the egos of bigger players or meet the expectation. If we were 17th in the league last season I would probably say yes. I really just don't want to see the Alladyce brand of football being showcased at VP.
  2. I don't. We are not in the sort of mess that requires Big Sam. No thank you.
  3. Its not about giving up or following a rich club. But your attitude just shapes you up for major dissapointment after major dissapointment. I want the champions league title as much as the next man but I doubt it will happen in my lifetime. Unless you live forever Tom, don't rule it out.
  4. Great to see how much the goal meant to him. Some nice touches not sure at the minute whether he will make it with us or not but his energy was excellent with a better striker up top he might have done even better.
  5. I suppose the only benefit with the squad picked is quite a few of them are aware of each others qualities from the reserve side. Big Mac seems to be a man of his word and is giving everyone a chance so nobody can have any complaints with that.
  6. I know its early days but just shows the benefit of having a full pre-season and he is obviously now comfortable in his surroundings.
  7. Its nice that he's got his chance but we need somebody in soon to get to work on the likes of ashley who may be thinking it is time to move on. And to make the decisions on who we sign and sell in the minimal time that is left of the window. Shame it didnt happen a couple of weeks ago then it would have been fine for Mac to have his chance.
  8. We know Sven is willing to come but maybe just maybe that was because there was a pile of cash and sheiks around
  9. Shame McClaren and Hughes have taken jobs up recently think they would have been decent shouts. Jol would be a positive move but I think nobody will be coming in soon until all is revealed.
  10. I think we'll be waiting for 1/9 to take it. Or maybe some players faces will be added to cover others up
  11. It seems to be a case of keep Milner and get no one else in or sell Milner and buy two or three players. So thats the choice I would prefer the sell Milner buy two or three new players option, that is as long as the players we bring in are not deadwood. Milner wants out, cash in, get a striker, midfielder and a right back. I think most would agree with that but there are not many around that will improve us but not be wanted by clubs above us.
  12. Well I can't see us signing a striker otherwise. Unless we sell all of our transfer listed players
  13. Well I agree with your post if not necessarily you.
  14. I wouldn't describe our squad players as deadwood. They are squad players (overpaid I agree) but they are there as backup to our first team. They come in and do a job and if we replace them they will be replaced by players of similar quality because many players are not happy just to come along and warm a bench. Unless of course MON decides that he wants to make more use of our younger players to booster the squad so then maybe the money raised will actually be spent on first teamers (players who will improve us)
  15. I think it needs to be sorted sooner rather than later. At the minute we need an improving Milner or the money. Neither is no good to us.
  16. Yeah agree with this. Strength was one of Yorke's best qualities. He could well be as important to us in the next year or so as Yorke was. But I don't think he will ever be our top scorer unless our strikers go on a serious goal drought your he is played off Heskey for much of next season. Agree with most- would like to see him in the 'free role' and give him the chance to get himself into more positions to score.
  17. Why? What does it really achieve? He has been honest to his manager and said he wants to move but he has not come out and said it himself. We are going to double our money and have had a good season out of him. But yeah go ahead and boo him I'm sure he'll change his mind.
  18. No for him, no for us, no for all.
  19. No way we'll i'm sure they'll have to mix it up a bit. Its a bit gutting that neither Villa nor Villa are playing.
  20. if he pulled this off i would be shocked :!: Especially if he did it all in a day
  21. I'm sorry but I HATE this argument. What your saying there would be perfectly reasonable argument for 99% of people. Milner is a multi-millionaire several times over, so has financially secured his and his family's future for years and years. We've supposedly offered him a deal to make him the highest paid player in our history so he'd be earning 65-70k a week at a guess. There's only one word I'd use to describe jimmy and that's greedy. So maybe just maybe its not just about money.
