  1. I'm a bit disappointed that we haven't been linked to (m)any players playing in the WC. Used to love just following a game just because there was a chance one of them might join us.
  2. Well if he's done that his plans will probably be ruined anyway
  3. With top players running off him he suddenly looks a good player and you can see why top players want him in their side.
  4. Goal! Well it would just be plain silly to buy a house when his club might accept a bid from Citeh. Its not all down to Milner, its of course down to whether a bid is accepted.
  5. It might, but our season could also go down the drain!yep,we could end up in a bloody mess alright.. As long as they don't on go bust and send us in the red
  6. Totally agree Woody these things take more than an hour to sort out. Its a positive thing that he was willing to come for a meeting and at least I'm sure everyone knows where they stand now.
  7. I think replacing top players, whatever money you have is easier said than done. Just look at replacing Ronaldo at Manure for instance.
  8. Villa every time. I'll watch England at the tournos but most the other time I honestly have no interest unless one of our lads are playing.
  9. Would have liked to seen us take a punt on him but that's a lot of money, replacement for Doyle I imagine
  10. Yeah, 9 goals in 34 games for Wolves is just what we need for our ambitions Key part of the above is 'for Wolves' sounds an improvement on Heskey to me
  11. Totally agree they are just puppets driven by agents you would not see anything like that on the BBC. Absolute joke
  12. Good business but don't think we are desperate for a keeper would rather take Bellamy off their hands
  13. He looks a big lad and won their player of the year so think there's a decent chance we could be in for him. Big Sam said he's not quite there just yet but maybe worth a punt before he costs us a bit more next season.
  14. Yeah I'm afraid once the big one or two clubs calling its rare you see a player turn it down. We could do an awful lot with £25-30 million, unfortunately we won't get another James Milner with that but we'll replace him and move on. Obviously the one worry it players prices will start to go up once clubs know how much we have to spend so some sort of swap deal could be best for us. Not that they happen too often mind.
  15. Pretty strong statement from Villa. Glad they have come out and confirmed their postion. If they had said something along the lines of the offer was derisory I would be worried. Clearly it is up to James what he wants to do.
  16. Mascherano is the sort of 'little shit' that most good teams need. I'd take him but he'd have much better offers than us.
  17. Milner and Carrick should not be compared. Yes Carrick has been successful and at times has been a good player but he is not the same sort of player as Milner. He would do a job for us next to Milner. There is no way we can consider him a direct replacement for Milner just can't see Carrick scoring and creating anywhere near the same number of goals. Also there must be a reason why he is no longer good enough for Manure or their fans.
  18. I agree if he goes anywhere it will be to Old Trafford and I reckon it will be next summer.
  19. Spurs had a lot of "proven" players. Keane's Woodgates of this world. They took a gamble in blooding youngsters who were skilful, quick, agile and hungry (Bale, Huddlestone, Lennon, Crouch etc....) Where are they now ? We need to swap players who think they have made it (Carew , Heskey , and in MON's eyes - NRC) to players who want to make it. Milner is a perfect example of that. I would go Micah Richards , Daniel Sturridge, and if poss, but improbable, Huddlestone or more realistically Ireland Then we will have the hunger , and the ability to go forward Agree we need hungry players but just because they are young does not make them hungry. Sturridge went to Chelski knowing he was at least 3rd or 4th choice and hasn't really done anything of note. By all accounts he had the chance to come here so not sure why he would come here now. Huddlestone is definetly out of our reach- as you say look at where Spurs are now.
  20. Right there on par with an athletics track and a league 2 stadium- that's about right!
  21. Not for me thanks, hard workers alone won't improve us.
