  1. This is also important: Thus it appears to be 4 season-long loans, and up to 12 short-term as per my previous post. I also understand, that if a player is loaned from a club outside the rules set by the FA (i.e., from abroad), a loan agreement is considered, for all intents and purposes, as a permanent transfer and is not subject to the quotas above.
  2. From what I understand, a maximum of 2 loan players are allowed from teams in the same division with a total of 4 long-term loan players permitted in any one season. Short-term loans (28-93 days) are different:
  3. The key to this argument for me lies with Suarez's left leg: Once it passes Guzan's right hand, he makes no attempt to use it to land on - that's the natural running movement and would have kept him up. Suarez, rather, contracts the leg in such a way that he ensures he lands on his shin. I will admit that from the live camera angle, it appeared to be a penalty.

  15. Maybe Lambert himself will dust his boots down and rescue our midfield.

  17. I agree with this, players are too quick to get rid of the ball and are not giving 100% (I think confidence has gone, perhaps this stops them giving it all), it shows. This is where two or three players to take the game by the scruff of the neck is key. Agree with you here but, having a lack of confidence should not stop a player giving his all. This is where some members of the team need to share the responsibility of our failings. The second a player takes a salary he is being paid to do a job. He should therefore be somewhat robotic in his nature. I'd be very quickly disciplined if I stopped putting in the effort at work. As for the awful football, aside from the lack of individual quality, other teams have figured us out. All teams have been quick to close us down this season, particularly in our own half and that pressure has resulted in us 1) going back to Guzan to be hoofed up and lost or 2) directly making a pressure pass forward of which only ~ 50% go where intended (or if in the case of Nathan Baker, ~ 5%).
  18. It takes only a little effort to understand Lambert's predicament and your post is in line with my understanding. Clearly, none of us fans know the complete inside story. You mentioned that perhaps the transition was too quick - maybe so, but we should not look back and continue to improve the quality of our team. I posted earlier that Lambert has my support as manager and will continue to do so. He must be afforded the financial backing from the chairman - not to the same ridiculous levels as before (MON et al.), but enough so that we remain competitive in this league.
  19. Paul Lambert still has my support. I accept that may be an increasingly unpopular opinion, but it is one I make for two reasons. 1) When Lambert arrived at the club, we were in a complete mess - both on and off the pitch. We had a squad full of wasters and a wage bill that simply couldn't be supported. Confidence issues aside, we're now just a mess on the pitch, I've no idea what was discussed between Lerner and Lambert when he joined, but to this end, I am sure Lambert has succeeded in his brief. We've balanced the books and are still in the Premier League. 2) Up until now, the squad players that Lambert bought as replacements for our deadwood, constitute the majority of our first team. With injuries, this has been even more necessary. We're expecting these inexperienced players to be capable of playing good football and expecting our manager to be able to make that happen. It's like asking Gordon Ramsay to fill out his kitchen with Burger King cooks. It's been said before that the quality of the team dictates the way you can play. The other night, Baker hoofed a long ball to the opposing keepers arms and was rightly booed - but it wasn't Lambert who kicked it. A number of these squad players are far from Premier League standard (whether they ever will be is yet to be determined), but what do you do as a manager right now? We still have to field a team each week, The only thing you can do is encourage them and I do see that on the touchline. Yes we are playing really crap football and have been for what seems like an eternity, but we should understand that we will continue to do so until such time where the bulk of our first team are made up of quality players. We can only attain that with investment (Lerner). While I don't agree with some of the tactical plays Lambert makes (but hey, judging from my FM2014, I'm no tactician), I think he should have our support. He looks dejected at times. Some people have taken to personal insults and that is uncalled for. Whether you think such insults are deserved or not, they should have no place in the public medium. I say we should judge him as our manager after affording him to the time and money to build a proper first team. We may then see good football again.
