he was poor tonight, until something happened and he was greatly improved. he scored a scruffy but legal goal then made himself available, timed his run and had a decent first touch for his goal. it seemed to just click and had been a long time coming in the game, but just when he looked like he could pop another goal or 2 in, he was taken off? seems odd to do that really, he gets up to speed and then gets taken off. as i said earlier in the thread, i dont care if a striker does **** all, all game as long as when the chances come, they put them away. he did that tday so good on him.

well we were good in some places and horrid in other places. i have to apologise for some of my slightly colourful language, it was a nail biting last 8 minutes. a.young played well and was back to attacking instead of falling over, albrighton did some great stuff but then forgot he is not messi and instead of pass it on having ran 40 yards he tried too many times to go it alone. fonz did not look good, until something clicked, his movement was then sharper and in 15 minutes, he scored 2 goals and was involved in some good build up play then was taken off? albrigton started sorting out his decision making and got taken off? dunne is either injured or has something bothering him, the defence needs a leader and at the moment it is not him. dunne was great last year but his standards for what ever reasons, have not come up to last years. we missed the drive of NRC and despite me really liking the look of young clark, we looked light weight in the middle against a team who play the ball rather than the player. against a more physical team i fear we could get ripped a new arse hole just like newcastle did to us.

i thought he was terrible yesterday. missed 2 reasonably easy headers, was clean through at least 2 times ( well played bannan) and both time he checked back and generally he looked disinterested. i was under the impression he was reasonably speedy? im sure some on here said he was meant to be faster than gabby? i am probably wrong but he looked slower than carew half the time. he is young and so hopefully will get far better, we need a proper goal scorer, i dont give a shit if he swans around most of the game doing **** all as long as when the ball comes to him, he puts the bugger in the back of the net. i know he scored a good amount for the reserves and the youth team so the talent must be there. im hoping for a far better performance against blackpool, other wise i expect albrighton to start upfront, he looks hungrier, more skillful, better shot, better positioning more direct.

fitness? it is because the style of play has changed, he has been at the club with his coaches for less than 3 months, the fitness will be no different. we sat deap and hit on the counter previously. dunn? he has been a LOT worse this season, it is either due to an injury or to some personal issues maybe? what ever it is, it is effecting his game and we look weaker with him in the team. he did one great tackle at the end of the game. needs dropping. ireland needs dropping. downing on one side, albrighton on the other heskey and young up front NRC and petrov in the middle collins and cuellar at the back unless we have better players who can come in such as gabby then this is what i think we should go with. obviously with only 1 left back in warnock and beye being the only fit senior right back they wold go into the full back positions.

money, travel, time i have no money, it would cost £60 fuel round trip from devon to brum £10 for the ticket = minimum of £70 i have to be at work at 7am and the mrs didnt get back from work until 5pm leaving me to look after our son. i have not been at all this season and unless we draw a team like torquay or exeter in a cup then i wont be seeing them at all this year apart from on dodgy chinese websites.

we cant play with albrighton if he wont cross the ball in, we cant play with downing if he is continually crap i didnt even know steven ireland was playing until the 40th minute when there was a close up of him. if we do have albrighton who i like and is an exciting young talent, than he must be told to get the ball into the box early rather than burst forwards and leave himself a 1 on 1 and then leisurly play the ball back losing any impetus we may have had. get it in the box for god sake. downing got a great goal the other day but boy, i would rather we were solid in the middle and as a team worked, we will get far better performances and results rather than the odd good goal. we cant play with albrighton downing and young all at the same time unless we are chasing a game in the last 10 minutes because no can tackle and it leave the whole team exposed. luke young is my man of the match for his last gasp delaney esq blocks, tackles charges up field and generally keeping ball unlike collins who seems to think he can produce a hollywood pass every time the ball is at his feet rather than push the ball to a player who can do something with it. 1st half the team gets a 7 seconds half the team gets a 3.
