  1. Swapping one gombeen centre-right governing party for another really, FG are the mirror image of FF. I am hoping against hope FG and Lab prove to be incompatible when it comes to coalition talks and FG offer FF a bone to support them in power. Then at last we can have a proper left-right divide with Lab, SF, the Indo's and the ULA ripping these jokers apart.
  2. Hopefully he'll find form at Newcastle and Villa can take some of their Andy Carroll money and let Ged invest it as he sees fit, SI too much of a potential liability for me to ever be fully trusted as a regulat 1st teamer for the Villa.
  3. Call me old fashioned but surely, irrespective of which division did what, if a bank collapses in a manner such as the Irish ones did, then the idea of bonuses being paid out to anyone is a complete nonsense. However, seeing as fingers Fingleton hasn't paid his bonus back like he said he would, then i'd probably be a bit peeved if i were an AIB employee due a bonus.
  4. Let us spare a thought for those less fortunate then us - the staff of AIB. Looks like they won't be getting their 2008 bonuses afterall. http://tinyurl.com/283ufo9 Poor lambs
  5. **** off you pool loving word removed.
  6. There goes 12.5% of my weekly income, i guess i don't have to eat, turn on the heating or leave the house on the day before payday. Even more ridiculous is that new entrants into the public service will be paid less for the same job as those already in there, what a joke. Thanks FF you words removed, London here i come.
  7. Cowen addressing the nation any moment now, could this be it?
  8. In full agreement with ya MV, i also have various friends & relatives in the public sector and they take the absolute piss when it comes to their wages and conditions. Unsurprisingly they were all FF and bought into the whole property is a safe bet schtick. The brass neck and sense of entitlement on this lot is a sight to behold. Now the public sector parasites will fight tooth and nail to keep the Croke Park agreement, hoping the burden instead will be borne by the old, low paid (non unionised) and people on welfare. As much as the IMF will hurt us all, whe they sack the 1000s of overpaid and underworked public servants i'll smirk (until i emigrate). There'll be a special place in hell next to the politicians, bankers & developers for those Trade Unions who's greed knows no bounds. Social partnership is a joke.
  9. Gormley pulls the plug, or at least indicates he will do after the budget is passed. As an Irish politics junkie i love a general election, however this time its personal. I have a big stick waiting for any FF politician who dares come to my door.
  10. Ozzy only needed to learn one thing, cut Corpo tax and the big fish will launder their profits in your jurisdiction. Although i've argued that a readjustment of our corpo tax rate is needed to help pay off the bank debts, it'd be in the range of a 1-2% increase lest we scare off the Googles, Microsofts & Pfizers of this world. Sarko and the lads would almost certainly want to see it doubled. That's not going to happen as it'll collapse pretty much the last sector of the Irish economy which is making serious cash for the DoF. The French & Germans have been moaning about Irelands corpo tax for years, if fat bitch Merkel insists on including the proposal as part of a bail out of Ireland then it'll end in tears. It would be further proof, if proof were needed, that the whole EU/EMU project is run in the interests of the 2 big players. It would be at that point that i'd imagine Ireland pulling out of the Euro & EU would become a distinct possibility.
  11. If Ireland is to take the EU & the Euro down, then so be it. The Germans pushed the Euro and low interest rates on Ireland, now they want us to take all the pain, they are as liable for the financial collapse as our incompetent government are. Merkel can go **** herself.
  12. Off with Pats head too MV, that clearing in the woods is on nearly half a million a year. What a **** joke.
  13. Does this ring true to our Western neighbours? That joker Kelly is probably right, but sadly like many of the talking heads that make up the Irish commentariat who cheered on the excesses of the past decade, suddenly everyone is wise after the event. They can all **** off. Off with their heads.
  14. BOF have you ever had a wank on an airplane?

It's true, we are the dogs bollocks. Although it's not all gravy down Leeside, loads of junkies have started appearing around Cork in the past few years, i strongly suspect our Jackeen cousins have pushed them onto the train at Heuston or summat. The thick Dub scobe accents & unique tracksuit regalia of old Dublin Ga shirts on 'em when they ask for a fag or money on the street only confirms my suspicions.

Your advice is about 5 years out of date. There's a distinct lack of 'Céad Míle Fáilte' these days in Galway. It's gone quite cynical and the pubs & clubs have bouncers stricter than anything you'll see in Dublin. As for the junkies in Dublin, that's precisely why I kept our visitor on the South side of the Liffey  Why I was up west just this past August for my holyers and i beg to differ with a lack of cead mile failte, maybe they just don't like the cut of your gib BOF eh? :winkold: Failing that everyone should bring their tourist dollars and come to West Cork, best of the lot of 'em in my unbiased opinion.

To be fair, Temple Bar is full of puking boozed up tourists comprimising lager louts & Hens/Stags as well as the locals. And the rest of the City Centre is awash with junky scum all over the place. So predictable and accurate as i am, it's best not let the tourists know. Not my cup of team anyway. Galway is the Irish city where the real craic can be had minus the above mentioned shenanigans, go there instead!.

  19. I also heard on Irish radio that he both his parents are from the ol' sod, i reckon they are more reliable then wiki? come play for Ireland CC, y'know it makes sense.
  20. Do not ask about streams in the match thread
  21. my feelings too mate. Must I now think he's OK because he plays for Villa? Nah suppose not, of course i'll support him in the c&b but really i'm sceptical of any man with such occasionally gaudy, ostentatious tastes & tabloid lifestyle. But then who am i to judge? i am but a simple man too poor for such indulgences, even if i was on 75k a week my rooms would be brown instead of pink.
  22. Urge to call Stephen Ireland a clearing in the woods...rising...must resist, he plays for Villa now.
  23. Like what? :? chop her head off Louis XVI style?
