    Exciting stuff. Come on Villa. Difficult to expect too much against the current champions, best team in the league and, I would suggest, champions elect. However, they’re missing a couple of key players and we’ve improved our squad. I hope we can do ourselves proud. Looking forward to this one. UTV

    Not our greatest performance and we really need to keep the pressure on and not let Fulham back in. Ollie is desperate to score - trying too hard I think, needs to relax. Really hoping we see Traore sooner rather than later

    Emi was great and so nice to have a confident keeper back in goal. I thought the back four were solid enough, although due to the red card they probably didn’t really get tested. Going forward we lacked ideas and their formation blunted anything we tried - possibly compounded by the red card. I was screaming at the TV for Dean to make a sub after about 75 minutes - AEG for Trez, break up the game and bring some fresh legs on against tired ones. Having said all that, it’s our first game of the season, it’s 3 points and a clean sheet. Can’t really ask for anymore!! Onwards and upwards. UTV

    First game back against a team who have nothing to lose and fair play to Burton, they took it to us early and got their reward. For me, despite being a goal behind for most of the first half, there only looked like one team in it. We looked ok, rusty yes, but always on top. If that was us against Liverpool or Man City, the statement would have been something along the lines of “they didn’t get out of second gear”. I think that was the perfect first game for us, competitive but one that should blow the cobwebs off and give us some confidence. oh, and hopefully that was Taylor’s last competitive game!
