  1. With Dollar the Dog as CEO? TT was talking about Bob Rich my friend. The fact lawyers are still in town has to be a positive whoever they are looking at.
  2. Surely just had a look around? Fact the lawyers remain is good. IF he is looking at Villa Folski, it does indeed. The fact the lawyers are still here proves to be a positive whoever they are looking at. I am thinking it has to be looking through the books or getting paperwork sorted to get a deal in place. Cannot see why M and S (not the shop) are still in town if Bob was not interested in something.
  3. Agreed Silkh, it is all specualtion at the moment and it is difficult to say who's in for who. But bit strange the firm he is rumoured to use for his dealings has also lands in town. Mate I am like you, I'll believe it when I see it
  4. What could that possibly mean! If McLaughlin and Stern are still here then that has to be a positive in my view If Bob wasn't happy (if it is Villa he is looking at) the lawyers would be flying back too. Instead to me, its a case of they are looking over the books and trying to sort something out. Thats my view but lets see. Believe it when you see it gang.
  5. The thing is guys you have to look at the situation from the outside in. Lerner has put the club up for sale. The chairman will not spend anymore if he doesn't have to on new players, contracts or deals of any sort. Sacking Lambert & Faulkner would of meant another hit on Lerner's wallet. For me, these pair will go when the new owner/s comes in. For starters, Lambert has one year left on his deal so its not going to be a massive hit on the wallet to whoever comes in. As for Faulkner, he is a good business man, but certainly whoever comes in will want to bring in their own people. The fact Albrighton was offered a deal & refused seems to point at the fact Villa offered him something either the same or less than what he is currently on. I'll be honest he will be missed but I certainly wouldn't offer him the money Leicester are rumoured to have put on the table for him (around 35k pw). The fact the club are also letting Del Boy & Gardner go as well doesn't surprise me. What does is the fact we are not offering contracts to those who were rumoured to be picking up new deals this summer (Delph, Vlaar, Gabby but a few) this to me is a clear indication that Lerner isn't prepared to throw money into the wages pot & more than likely there'll be a sign on fee as well. How the hell are we going to sign Lescott according to Nursey I do not know. The other factor is when Tom Ross quizzed him about the takeover Lambert commented to the fact he knows what is going on & commented about if something happens in a week or 2 he then quickly backed tracked & added 3 weeks, a month, 6 months, how ever long it takes to sell a football club. You only have to listen to the interview to hear the bloke is gutted, he knows he's on borrow time at Villa and he has been while and totally screwed over by Lerner. The interesting point for me will be if Faulkner goes off to the world cup with the FA. The other factor is Bob Rich. TheTrees did an excellent job yet again reporting that not only was McLaughlin and Stern in town but Robert Rich has come to BHX too and his plane is on the ramp meaning it's not moving anytime soon. Even if Bob was coming over to look around with Faulkner & Co, you wouldn't bring in Lawyers to look around the place. If anything you'd bring them in to look at the books or something to that effect. Even then, you could easily send them over electronic copies via PDF. It is slightly worrying times yes, but it is not business as usual in my mind behind the scenes at VP & I am pretty confident something will happen or even come out before the WC starts. Keep calm & carry on gang. Still another 5 weeks to go at least (according to Bryan Swanson).
  6. Did anyone else listen to the interview Tom Ross did for GoalZone. Lambert sounded really down beat. But what are your thoughts?
  7. Can't see Pete standing outside BMH all day and nothing to happening in my opinion
  8. I might be a bit late, but this... It was a 'clever' if not predictable statement that basically keeps everyone curious enough to part with their cash in the summer and commit their support to AVFC via season tickets in the summer. Kind of like, 'yeah, it's been a teensy bit tough going again this year, but we've got BIG plans in the summer... Just watch y'all...' I fell for it last summer, especially with the flurry of exciting signings we made so early in the summer window. But, will I fall for it again? I have asked myself the same question. I even went as far to put it out on twitter. A hand full of fans said they'd keep their tickets no matter what. The rest, well they were a lot more sceptical about the whole thing.
  9. You just have to look at the way we are doing things to see something is not right with the club. As for the whole Red Bull, Cortese thing. Its a believe it when you see it. For me, Collymore's tweet has sparked the whole Red Bull buying us debate off again. I would of normally (these days) brushed off any speculation linking us with other buyers. But, why would Stan risk his reputation & be hounded by our fans, if there wasn't something in it. Many say he used the tweet to get more people to call through to his show or whatever. I do not believe that's the case. Stan loves this club like any ex-pro. You only have to look at the videos of him screaming when we got a late winner against Chelsea or when we beat Man City this season. Stan surely wouldn't be stupid enough to publish that tweet if something wasn't in it. But what is the betting Doogan called him about it.
  10. Funny thing is that Sky Italia have broke the news that Villa put in a €10m + 2m bonus bid to Inter Milan for him. Inter considered & rejected offer. They then went onto say a €15m bid could be more than enough to seal the deal. Before you start guys, I know my links in the past have sometimes being wrong so I apologies for that. But, why would Sky Italia say one thing & Pete get told another SUPPOSEDLY by Villa?
  11. I've just read the report & if it is true then the move must be still on. You don't get a fancy jet owned by Lerner just to have talks with a club. Just doesn't add up - plus you would leave your agent there either. It would be interesting to find out if Ole's wife has gone back or is planning to go back with him or not.
  12. After what I've been sent & heard this morning I am convinced his off by next Friday. I am no ITK & I hate it when peeps pass me duff info. I've even had texts off guys who aint ITKs! I'm just saying the chats I've had with peeps & the stuff which has been emailed me or texted to me I wouldn't be surprised if it will be McLeishOutSunday
  13. A big thank you should go to Dr Ian McGuinness for helping Stan diagnose his problem - he is a hero & maybe a life saver
  14. I'm pleading to fans going to game to Take A Scarf For Pets please spread the word Get Well Soon Stan
  15. I ask all Aston Villa & Chelsea fans (over Twitter) going to tomorrows game to Take A Scarf For Pets please RT & spread the word Get Well Soon Stan
  16. 10,000 fans don't stop coming to Villa Park for no reason. Fans are not considering renewing due to the current financial climate. McLeish was the wrong choice from the start. We have 4 big MUST WIN games coming up. But, if he loses or draws at 2 of these. He has to go. But saying that, he needs to go now if I'm honest. Things have not been this bad in a long time. Worst home record since '87 under Taylor! Need I say more?
  17. Mat Kendrick posted on his twitter "McLeish optimistic avfc will be in a strong enough financial position to invest in quality players this summer. See today's Sunday Mercury." Eck: "It could be we end up paying massive wages for someone who comes in the summer as long as it fits into that whole (wagebill) package".
  18. To be honest with you guys, I was very spectacle to the news that the Q.I.A was looking at buying Aston Villa. But as DodgyKnees has said, I am a firm believer that Randy will not be in charge of Villa come next season. The idea that people think that we are cutting the wage bill to its bare bones to then rebuild the squad again by spending millions is a bit OTT. Randy this season, I don't think has put any of his own cash into Villa. I'm in the thinking, that the bonus & TV revenue went onto buy Given, CNZ, Hutton, Stevens & Jenas. The point that we only signed Keane on a £500k deal points to the fact Randy was unwilling to splash his cash. The other point being is the North Stand. Plans where in place to rebuild the stand & then have it fall into line with St James'. People inside of Villa have said its been shelved due to the financial climate. Villa have also contacted season ticket holders asking to do a survey. Over the years I have had my ticket I have never been asked to do one. Cutting the long story short, it was a call to see if I was renewing next season. When asked if I wouldn't renew if we got a low league place again points to me, that Randy just wants to club to survive in the league. My response to the customer services rep was "if Alex is still there I won't be". Alex at the end of the day is a short term fix. The press are very much focused on him & the team. This allows the board to act like Ninjas & play it low key. The fact as well that I have had at least 4 people tell me Randy is ready to sell says he is doing things right. Not on the field but Randy does love Villa & he won't screw us over by having any jack jones walk in. Whether its the Q.I.A or anyone else. Many are getting itchy feet over Randy & the board with the direction the club is going. Being a ticket holder our home attendances have been poor. 10,000 people don't stop coming for a reason. If I'm being honest, the public have had some awesome deals to get fans back in. Which does make you wonder this season at least why bother having a season ticket. Also don't you find it weird that villa posted that Randy had been here over the last few weeks to talk to Alex. But, in a interview recently Alex said he hadn't seen Randy since after Christmas? Also why did Villa post about Randy ON THE DAY that the prince was supposedly going to Bodymoor Heath? I would love to be a fly on the wall to see Villa's end of season figures. I bet they are alarming!
  19. I hope this is true: http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/welcome-to-the-midlands-who-remembers-media-mate?commentId=6365595%3AComment%3A206835&xg_source=activity You know what it’s a small World, people say it all the time but is really is. I had the honour of attending some close friends wedding this weekend and who should appear at the at the reception? MM (not to be confused with MysteryMan), the man who worked at SkySportsNews, the man who’s scatter gun approach to rumour flinging made him popular and despised in equal measure. His life is going swimmingly, from dancing with Davina to recently being selected to host a pilot for a potential prime time terrestrial TV game show, so soon he could be a house hold name, but for now he shall remain as the one and only MM. So after some severe ribbing about his hair cut and his new pose to hide the fact he’s got a big chin, I tapped MM up for some of the media rumours around football… (remember these are journalistic or mystery tip-offs received by SkySportsNews, you must understand that they receive hundreds if not thousands of “tip-offs” everyday from people claiming to be in the know but are not able to quantify their information, but some of them are very, very good for a bit of rumour mongering. As much as people like to think SSN will put out any story on a whim, you must understand that every time they say “Sky Sports News understands…” that rumour has been through many, many pairs of hands and is only released to the news desk when the bosses are happy there is enough suggestive evidence.) MM promised he would get in touch and get back to me, so this morning I check my e-mails and true to his word MM has forwarded an e-mail. For obvious reasons I can’t show you the screen shot of the e-mail because it contains the information of both parties, however I will copy and paste the text. Interesting reading…. Hey Matt, as requested – Randy Lerner has contacted officials of Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani, you remember him right! Rumours have been that the Qatari’s are looking at other Premier League clubs after being frustrated by a lack of movement at MU. This has prompted several chairman to contact the Sheikh’s offices with the aim of raising interest in their club. Kenwright at Everton seem to have been rebuffed for reasons unknown. However the latest club to make contact is Aston Villa, the source believes Lerner would be looking for £130-150m for the club, and the Qatari’s are interested. The source (the same one who gave me Venkys) went on to say that several key factors play in to the hands of Aston Villa which makes them far more desirable than say Everton or Blackburn. Watch this space is all i can say, it would seem the horse has bolted and soon there will be another big player in the Premier League money stakes. Hope that helps, catch up soon mate
  20. Got that one wrong! Now moved into a longer term parking position, so maybe staying for he Spurs game.... Think the rumours of him wanting to sell the club are true kidda?
  21. Dude where have you heard this? If this is true, something is going down. For me, Randy needs to sell us & I agree from the previous post. The scare of us nearly going down has shown Randy he hasn't got the funds to compete anymore. I for one would welcome new owners & would like to thank Randy for what he has done. But, this is prob why Alex has been asked to balance the wages & get rid of the deadwood. Looks good to new buyers
  22. I totally agree - IF we need a new manager it has to be Moyes - give the guy some cash he will bring in some class players The way this is going on at Villa I really can't see GH coming back in a management role. If Villa know he is fit enough to come back they would of told the fans and players by now. Setting a mid-June target was the right thing to do but for me I would of said the end of the season Yeah, I do understand what a major problem GH has had cause my gaffer had a similar thing - But my dad knew after a couple of weeks he had to retire from the fire service. As much as GH was doing a cracking job at Villa it also shows how rubbish GM is and how little the players think of him. It wouldn't surprise me if PF & RL are already looking to try and get someone else in before the next window. Plus it wouldn't surprise me if they say or do something at the end of the Liverpool game either
  23. I'm just sick of some fans moaning about Villa and the board etc on the SSN website - so I thought I'd put this up (hope it gets published) "GH is the best man for the job - not only can he improve our young players but he can also bring in new transfers with his excellent scouting team and with talk of big phil coming on board its a BONUS. We would of never got Klinsmann unless we was in the CL and I'd rather have GH over Sven or curbs! Some fans want to wake up and smell the coffee! MON walked out, deal with it! Under MON we wouldn't be playing some great football at home and the likes of Luke would have been long gone. This season so far, he has looked awesome with Albrighton and he is like a new signing for us. GH is our boss and will bring the best out of Villa and if you 'so called fans' can't deal with it then go support the Baggies! They love a good moan!"
  24. I'm hearing a few things if they are true or not I dunno. * Villa refused permission to speak to Moyes * Rumours up north are saying Newcastle are after Heskey. * Loan bid for Keane rejected * Loan bid for Patrick Van Aanholt As I said this could be ITK but this is what I have been told
