  1. General, I know all the fans want Randy to come out and tell us what is going on and his plan going forward but I respect that telling the world what our strategy is probably doesn;t make good business sense. I think I can see what the club is trying which is to focus on developing our own talent and add the odd gem such as a Darren Bent. The days of spending £5m on an Sidwell or £10m on a Curtis Davies who contribute nothing means we should look at other ways of skinning the cat. IF we save our money for bigger purchases such as Bent to add to our young players then I think that is a far better strategy anyway - key is if we do add when the time is right. I think AM needs to review what we have and we need to give the youngsters a chance to become first team players, we will never do this if we feel compelled to have to play someone we bought for big money even if they don't add to much. If we also end up with 5-6 homegrown players in teh teaqm not only will they naturally be more loyal to Villa than ones we have bought in (potentially avoiding a Downing type turncost situation) but alos it makes the club more attractive to parents who need to decide which club to send their youngsters to. SO I think I see the method in the madness. What I would say is that I think it would not do any harm if Randy did come out and reaffirm his love, commitment to Villa and that he is still fully behind getting us to the top. I personally don't mind us trying a different method to the MON days but we do need to let the fans know that it is going to be a slow process
  2. General Krulak, Firstly where are you? Hiding by any chance? I actually will be surprised if you ever post again given the complete **** up your friend Randy and Faulkner have overseen this summer, I doubt you will have the brass neck to come on and try and defend it. After all it is indefensible. You don't care about the fans, you are blatantly treating us with contempt, Randy is shutting his investment down and McLeish is part of a strategy to sell any of our valuable assets and for you to cut and run. Why else would you employ such an inept manager as McLeish? You are deluded if you think our disdain is purely based on his association with blues, it is taking them down twice (indefensible) and the dire football played along the way. Finally you talk about the ethos and traditions of. Our great club. At this point I am compelled to remind you of the club motto "Prepared" I cannot think of a word more inappropriate to use to describe you and the rest of the current custodian of our club.
  3. I reckon Moyes may well emerge as fav over the weekend and agree the ancelotti stuff could be a smokescreen to keep things hush
  4. I backed him at 10/11 with Paddy Power at lunchtime and he is now 8/13 with them (not because of the money I put on I add)
  5. Question with Lambert is whether he could handle managing mulit-millionaire footballers who sulk if not in the team as opposed to the more grounded level of player he has been managing so far. That is the only question about his suitability as his record is outstanding so far.
  6. Wasn't there a worry that Jack Grealish and Jordan Graham were both going to be poached or did they sign contracts?
  7. General K I am raging at what I am watching and the team selected tonight. GH has decided to chuck a chance of winning the Fa cup away by picking the weakest team he could have if the first team available. Single handledly he has probably lost support of fans and expect fans to be equally apathetic when season ticke sales come around.

  9. The day Aston Villa do not take the Fa Cup seriously is a day the club loses heritage and reputation as a big club. Utter **** disgrace and shows how out of touch the club is with it's fanbase as if you knew what this cup means to us you would know never to disrespect this competition. Our first home quarter final draw since 1960 as a prize and the Liverpool fan treats it like a pre season friendly. You can have my season ticket back.

  11. General, just read an article on our latest financial figures and it is frightening to see how much money Randy is having to put in just to keep us going. Is Randy able to see a pont where he doesn't need to keep doing this or are we gong to have to cut back drastically and reduce the number of players and the wage bill? I am not a financial expert but it would seem to me that we are in a perilous situation should anything happen that meant Randy couldn't support us any longer. Finally please pass on my gratitude to the man who has now spent over £200m on our club
  12. Hi General K, Not sure if you missed my question on page 9 (above) on possible group season tickets? On a different note. The crowd on Sat was disappointing in compariosn to previous family fun days and I wodnered if the club were factoring in that there are many pubs showing Villa games live on a Sat afternoon where people can go and spend the price of a ticket getting drunk as a lord whilst watching the game. I think that we could be losing a lot of support due to this factor. On the same note, does Randy still believe we can average more than 40k a game again like we did a few seasons ago? I personally think if we get it right on the pitch and we see some silverware then we still ahve the potential to have crowds worthy of increasing capacity.
  13. Hi General K I imagine the club are currently looking at season ticket schemes for next year. Could you look at having more group based discounts? I sit with a number of friends and family and I am sure this is mirrored across many supporters. It would be good if you could put together a scheme where the more in your group is relative to the greater discoutn you can achieve. Whilst it would potentially give existing supporters access to a better pricign scheme, it may also entice other people in to buying a season ticket for friends/family. Also it would need to be flexible as we sit in two rows as we can;t get all the seats together. Also well done on the PA system in the Holte End, it is far better now than earleir in the season. Oh and a big well done to all concerned - GH, PF, Randy etc for a fantastic transfer window. New hungry players coming in and a net reduction on the wage bill I gather.
  14. Hi General K, For one of the family fun days has the club ever thought about opening the turnstiles early and having the entertainment on the pitch? GEt fans in early buying food etc. Or could we have a youth team or reserve game on before the first team play? I assume this has been thought of and we can't do it? I think our attendnaces are linked to our results. If we go on a winning run then the crowds will come back I am sure. I hope Randy is understanding of the trends and that in 18 months time once the economy improves (here's hoping) that we cna get back to averaging the 40K we were a few years ago. If we continue with the likes of transfers of recent weeks and cna keep our best players like Ash, then I think we are in for exciting times and will surpass what we did under MON.
  15. Because football is a business is exactly why he will worry about his wellbeing. The last thing anyone wants is him to be out for longer. None of us know how Delph is doing other than what we hear - we'll have to just trust the manager/staff's experience and Delph's own feeling. How has he suddenly become one of our "best players"? The guy has played a handful of PL games and had mixed reviews at best. I'm looking forward to having him back, but I can't understand why people are pining so much hope on him for this season. I don't think he has had mixed reviews at best at all, aside from one game where he was taken off at half time as he was ill, he has been the best player on the pitch in most games he has played. He is widely touted as one of the most talented youngsters in the country and I think he will be brilliant for us.
  16. If Randy is prepared to risk losing him on a free then I am delighted we will get to keep him in our team for the next 18 months. One thign about Ash is he isn't the type to sulk and will just get on with it and as our best player i want to keep him. Also it gives us 18 months to get him to change his mind.
  17. 7 goals in 9 first team starts. I think he will be our first player to get 20 league goals since Withe
  18. I agree with you. I have read all the hype about him but after a breakout 1st Europa League campaign he hasnt really produced in games he has ahd since(granted he didnt play a lot) He is 19 yrs old FFS! Also as you say he hasn;t played!! I am willing to bet that you will be pleasantly surprised at how well he does now he is going to get some match time.
  19. Hi General Will yourself and Randy be at the game on Sunday? If so I hope to see you in the Holte SUite either before or after our victory! Well done to the Browns. I hope it is the turning point for them and I am sure will do wonders for the belief of the team
  20. General, I wanted to pass on my thanks to the club for Saturday. My nephew was lucky enough to have been selected as a mascot due to his JV life membership as a season ticket holder and enjoyed a fantastic day cluminating with him walking out on the pitch holding Stewart Downing's hand before kick off. For a 7-year old this was a dream come true that he will remember for the rest of his life. Thank you to all the people at the club who organise this experience and what a fantastic idea to include this prize for young season ticket holders. Shame about the game but I look forward to GH bringing a fresh approach and ideas to the team and to us improving as the season progresses. Any chance of Randy getting Ashley Young and Gabby signed up on new long term deals and giving everyone a whole lift?
  21. I got paid out by Paddypower earlier in the week
  22. Fair play to Phil Thompson. Spoke passionately about GH and Villa as a club. Almost like listening to one of us talking our own club up. Shame he isn't coming after the way he spoke about us and the obvious passion he has for GH

  25. I'd love Houllier. Has managed at the top level for years, would be an extremely safe pair of hands and coupled with a younger coach would be a great appointment. Won't happen though as he won't come cheap and I think that is the main credential.
