  1. SE are only just starting with Android and are discovering how to make it perform. HTC are old masters and manage to make Android even better with their tweaks.
  2. The 2.1 os isn't that much of an advantage. Sony will be releasing 2.1 or 2.2 for the X10 soon enough. X10 is the bst phone because it has 8.1 mp camera and has the biggest screen, also looks nicer too, only drawback is software which will be fixed soon. Other than that it's the best out there imo, thats why I picked it over HTC. I've had a good go with both. The HTC has the better feel and build quality because well, it's HTC. The X10 is let down by the lack of the trackball, 3 home screens and slightly unattractive default theme. My brother is considering selling his to get a Desire but is holding off due to the imminent ability to root it and install a community rom. After coming from an iPhone he loves Android but hates SE's implementation of it.
  3. The Desire is a much better phone than the X10 because of Android 2.1 and HTC Sense. Once SE get the 2.1 or even 2.2 update out to the X10 it should be fairly similar. I've had tethering on my G1 for over a year, didn't realise 2.1+ didn't have it anyway. My phone becomes a wifi router and I just connect my netbook to it over wireless. Use it on hols and it's great. There's nothing that's a load better than a rooted G1 coming out for a long time though so I'll stick with that until something HTC with a QWERTY and maybe Froyo comes out. Or get a cheap Nexus 1(!).
  4. Why not just root your Hero? I've been running a community ROM on my dream ever since I had it. Now got 2.1 and as soon as it's viable 2.2 will be available.
  5. First I've ever heard of someone actually liking a Blackberry.
  6. What? An impartial pollster skewing the results? Oh, you mean like this That really is terrible. And this is http://www.newstatesman.com/media/2010/05/murdoch-clegg-cameron-paper
  7. Still got my old G1 and I'm keeping it for a while cos I want the qwerty and I don't want a 2yr contract. The Desires are really nice, the HTC incredible looks nice too. The new iPhones should be very nice if you can run Android on them, it's already on the original iPhone: http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/21/android-ported-to-iphone/
  8. I just posted this on the Blues 606 board: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A67128942?s_fromedit=1&s_type=10&s_sport=football
  9. Can we all just agree to get along and vote for the party with the best policies: Lib Dem I think you'll find.
  10. To be fair a lot of people currently backing the Libs are doing so because of the TV debate you only need to look at the boost in the polls to know that. Yes, which is a bad thing in itself. However if it gets more people actually interested and comparing policy then it will be a means to an end.
  11. Tone posted this link a few pages ago Laura. Quite good, and quite quick to do! Policies I took this, apparently I favour the policies of the Liberal Democrats. a girl with her head screwed on, and with a good moral compass. good stuff. Join the club As do most people. It's quite amazing how Labour and Tory supporters keep banging on about 'Lib Dem policies won't stand up to scrutiny' to make it sound like people are only supporting Lib Dem due to the TV debate. That's a bit insulting TBH and it seems that once most people look at each manifesto and compare then it's quite apparently that Labour and Tory policies are either media-reactionary and are trying to play to what they think will be popular or misguided. Lib Dem policies seem (at least to me) to be actually considered and made with common sense, even if they may not be popular.
  12. I thought we were superb. May not be a popular viewpoint but it's what I saw.
  13. I'm guessing you knew that they meant to use your vote in your constituency to vote for change nationally. Well yes I do, but it specifically says vote for change in Bromsgrove: Aha, another Bromsgrovian. Conservative apparently have a 10,000 majority here so Sajid Javid will probably get in but I hope Phil Ling pulls it out the bag.
  14. Always been Lib Dem and continue to be. Just hope everyone who would vote Lib Dem will do so irrespective of tactical voting because then it would be a landslide.
  15. 1. He was our best player against Chelsea and played against Everton. 2. He drifts in central but being in a central two, he'd get picked up by a marker if he was centrally. Petrov on the right was good!??!?!!? hahahahahahahahahahaha, he was shit and he's a good central midfielder. Milner in the Rooney role? What as the main striker getting on the end of any attack? He's a midfield player not an out 'n' out goalscorer? Alright mate, calm down. It wasn't that funny. 1. He has been superb this season yes but he hasn't overlapped as much recently meaning we've been a bit toothless on the left. 2. Petrov on the right was good. When he first came he wasn't great and got dropped by MON for a few games then came back playing excellently. Again I wouldn't expect Petrov to be a winger, more a right-sided midfielder as he was for a long time with NRC in the centre with Barry. Milner has played up front before and has been outstanding there. Just because he plays in midfield doesn't mean he can't do a job somewhere else. And I'd like to see his attacking prowess dropping off the front man.
  16. Eh/ 1. is Warnock out? 2. Petrov on the right, Downing central? 1. Nope but he looks knackered. A fresher player is a better player. 2. Downing more or less plays central each match anyway. Petrov played on the right for the first season and a half and did well there. My reasoning for this lineup: I'd like to give Guzan some game time and a don't think that right now Friedel is a better keeper. Beye is great going forward and has a lot more quality on ball than Cuellar. Plus he has a point to prove. Davies is a superb ball playing defender and can start attacks really well, same for Collins. If Davies is injured then Carlos can go there as being on the wing has improved his close control. Young at left-back is almost as good as Warnock, but Warnock hasn't overlapped very well lately. Petrov and Downing I've explained. Maybe leave Stan out for Albrighton. Delph where he can get a bit of space to run at the defence due to them putting 2 or 3 on Ashley Young. Milner up front dropping deep playing the Rooney role. He's the best striker of the ball at club and would cause havoc around the box. Gabby just cos he's ace. Essentially we can play with just the one winger, like we did when MON first came and we were much better at holding it in midfield.
  17. I really would love to see: Guzan Beye Davies Collins Young Petrov Downing Delph Young Milner Gabby And just instruct them to get the goal difference up. Anyone who shows they want it gets to keep their place.
  18. And many others, including me, think this Stan tires after 60 minutes thing is a load of rubbish. He tires no more than almost any other player on the pitch, it's just that players will tire more towards the end of the match and will be easier to pass through.
  19. Because then it gives credence to a rumour that doesn't deserve it.
  20. Pretty good I'd say. And there's a good reason for that.
  21. I think your name should be jogalong. You're a quite obviously just a rival fan on the wind-up.
  22. I would play: Friedel Beye Collins Davies Young Sidwell Albrighton Young Downing Agbonlahor Carew It may look a bit silly but I'm trying to think of players who look knackered and rest them, but it's most of them. Also I do think there's method in my madness..
  23. * This is why I think Ashley Young is one of the best players in the world. What the ****? Surely you're not being serious? Absolutely serious. Although Martin O'Neill agrees with me and what does he know?
  24. This. I think people are really trying to overcomplicate things. The only problem last night was that everyone looked fatigued. The concentration was affected so wrong decisions everywhere, no-one really had any guile (apart from Ashley Young*), and no-one trusted themselves enough with the ball to do something clever so just got rid of it at the first opportunity hence hoofball in the 2nd half when tiring more. It should help at Chelsea where there won't be the crowd expectation to perform so they will be able to loosen up a bit and not panic so much. * This is why I think Ashley Young is one of the best players in the world. His work-rate is phenomenal, he tracks back and helps out, sprints up the pitch on breaks and still has the engine to be able to craft his way around a full-back. When everyone else is flagging, he's still going. Karate-kid limping aside he never gets injured and I'm always amazed at the natural athleticism. Milner has a great engine but is still behind Ashley Young.
