  1. With a lag-fix installed the SGS gets around 2300 and slightly higher with the OC kernels.
  2. Guzan Cuellar Collins Clark Young Young Reo-Coker Petrov Downing Heskey Carew Would be my pick
  3. I've extracted this from a later Galaxy S ROM http://rapidshare.com/files/419824906/Swype.apk . If yours is expired then you've got nothing to lose by giving it a try but there very well may be other stuff it needs and it may check build.prop or something. For the Galaxy S? Rumour has it that it's the 23rd September. Samsung have said it will definitely be September so they've not got long left either way. I'm hoping the latest leak from about 3 days ago (JPH) is being re-cut because if they ship this version they'll get slated. Worryingly this build is registered in the Market so either this is the release candidate or there will be a newer JPH.
  4. Yes I did, did you? Anyone can apply and they'll get notified. So what happens when you register? If you don't already have an account you can't upgrade. Previously TheDon posted the apk packages on here so anyone could download. I was hoping someone could be similarly helpful. When you said your version has expired I assumed you'd already signed up for the old beta, and they let you download a new version if you had an old beta on that page.
  5. No idea sorry mate. I'm sure they put later versions in every firmware as the one I'm using now (JPH) is much better than the one on JM1 but more laggy. New Beta? http://beta.swype.com/
  6. Ah. In that case I want my **** money back.
  7. Your tax money is being spent on this visit, you do realize that right? £12m. Is it really that much if it cheers up a few fanatics, stops them committing suicide, raping/murdering someone or not slip into depression that costs the NHS £12m in treating for the rest of their life? Personally I'm agnostic. Science tells me there has to be some ID of some sort or the universe isn't as we know it so I'll wait for some evidence either way. Great that the Pope is visiting, it's not adversely affected me yet so I've no complaints. The comments cause me no practical ills i.e. I won't go to a job interview in 10 years time and they won't give me a job because if I'm not Catholic I'm a Nazi. It's his views as the head of the Catholic Church and he's entitled to them. "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" Shit I'm liberal these days. Or apathetic. Not sure which.
  8. here Very funny! I was hoping someone could give me some practical advice rather than me trawling through loads of google searches! This is the most pertinent bit: As long as you raised the issue within 7 working days after you received the goods (and the service commenced) then you have the right to a full refund including P+P. Look at directgov for more info.
  9. Put all of the above with as many names and dates on as you know and send it to O2 customer services manager. I'm pretty sure all of this would fall under the distance selling regulations first and foremost and protects the consumer first of all so mention in the letter that you intend to return the device under the distance selling regulations for a full refund + any incurred costs and then go with T-Mobile.
  10. Settings > Locale and Text > Input Method then choose Swype if that's what you want.
  11. My thoughts on this: I said about 6 months ago that if Nokia didn't either just try to get themselves with as much of a say as possible in Android or make a really good go of Meego that they're dead and buried. They've kept with trying to flog the dead horse that is Symbian and not really made any great strides with Meego so they've completely lost the smartphone market. I understand Nokia are still massive globally but the momentum away from them is even bigger. People get Nokia phones because they're cheap and simple or because that's what they know. Unfortunately for them, what people know is now how an iPhone or Android phone works, the slick touchscreen interface with popular viral apps. The only thing Nokia will have to rely on is their patents which should at least keep them afloat for years to come and allow them to survive to be able to innovate the next major thing in mobile, if they are able to. RIM is a slightly different one. They have the corporate mobile exchange market all sewn up at the moment. But they've reason to be worried about cloud mail. Corporate gmail is being used more and more so their usp of push mail with native exchange support is not the draw it used to be. Once the techies start showing off their next-gen smartphones to the execs with activesync / cloud mail and far better mail client / calendar / contacts sharing and sync etc. RIM will really have a job on their hands. Added to this the fact that Blackberry's really are incredibly crap means there's only one thing RIM can do now - use Android and put their exchange support on top. They would get all the stuff Android provides such as tethering, best web browsing experience, apps, hardware drivers plus their proprietary stuff and corporate image. The result would be a mobile exec's wet dream and mean they wouldn't have to carry the 2 phones anymore - the BB for work email and the smartphone as the useful, nice to use phone. If they don't do it now they'll fade into obscurity within 18 months and have nothing to fall back on like Nokia do. If they take it on right now and release a really good Android based corporate BB within 6 months they'll save it and remain relevant.
  12. Reo-Coker at fault for that one.
  13. Houllier has got to be excited having this to work with.
  14. Sit back, soak it up, break swiftly.
  15. Fook that deserved a goal.
  16. Woulda been a harsh penalty that.
  17. Sorry guys, Johnson is a superb player. Everyone knew this before we bought DJ and everyone knew we were getting the wrong winger at the time. I honestly believe we would have tried for Johnson but Boro had other stuff lined up for him when we were enquiring. Ash is excellent but doesn't do it for England and spends too much time on the deck, plus he's lost a bit of confidence required to skin defenders.
  18. Got to be: Friedel Cuellar Collins Dunne Warnock Petrov Reo-Coker Downing Albrighton Young Agbonlahor Friedel isn't great for collecting high-balls but he's still better than Guzan so keep him in. Although because of this he needs as much protection as possible against the long Delap throws and Etherington corners so Cuellar has to be at right-back to put 3 big men in the centre for set-pieces. Petrov is great at breaking up play in front of the back four. I'd say he's one of the best in the world at sitting deep and choosing the right moment to intercept and then playing himself out of trouble or drawing the foul. Reo-Coker for the energy. He's pretty good positionally too so will drop in when Petrov goes forward. Albrighton is currently very dangerous as a right-winger and if we can keep his confidence going and he keeps trying to take players on, his centres will be very effective. Ashley Young needs to try and get at the full back as much as possible, pull him out of position and make space for Gabby. Downing is a difficult one, I think he's too lightweight for the centre but he can get at the full back too and make space for Ashley Young to move inside and with Stan and NRC behind he should be able to attack without getting caught out too often. I think this game needs to be a park-the-bus type of affair and just sit very deep, keeping well organised. Stoke play deep anyway and will not leave any space around the back so we need to try and coax them out so we can hit them on the break. With Ireland as the free agent we should be able to get some decent breaks on the go. The key to all of this is the back 5. If they keep organised and put their bodies on the line when it counts we'll win, if they don't we'll lose.
  19. I'm just impressed you find the need to swype 'really bad person'.
  20. From my perspective I find Apple hardware to be pretty good. I really don't like the company though because they don't like me My blog, must update it
  21. yep even the original milestone is still a great phone and unlocked too so you can run CM on it
  22. Apparently it's the HTC Vanguard., not sure if it will see the light of day over here though.
  23. Yes. I positively refuse to buy anything Motorola now because they think they're Apple: They think they know better than you what you want to do with the phone. Great. I'm not an Android system developer, but I do want control over MY phone and I want to be able to use all the available software on there. When are these companies going to realise we own the devices, we don't rent them. If you want a QWERTY, get a G2 HTC phones are the best out there.
  24. It's not realistic though. Not with the squad and resources we have. I think the club has been undersold to him. Our squad is at least as good as Everton's and would you say 7th-12th is realistic for them?
