It's like playing in the SPL!

I don't usually criticise other teams away support because I appreciate the time and expense that those who do go sacrifice......however, I've just found out that Blues only took the 2,900 allocation for the League Cup SF at West Ham, when they were entitled to over 5,000. What's more there are still 500 left! This is a semi final for crying out loud! We could have sold double the tickets we did for Blackburn last season. I know Blackburn is easier to get to than London for a midweek game, but it's a semi final! Why hasn't there been more uptake from the noses? I also note West Ham have already sold their allocation of 3,800 (would have thought they could have more?) for the return leg.

I'm sure those young players who were brought through and played regularly such as Gabby and A Young (as they were at the time) were more than happy with MON. He also showed faith when spending big money on Delph. The players who are happy he is gone are those who weren't playing. It seems to me that people are forgetting all of the good MON did just because he isn't here now. To say he wasn't good at motivating his players flies in the face of pretty much everything he achieved in his 4 years at the club.

The trouble for me is my first 'Villa Season' was 89-90 (a good one at that!) and I wouldn't feel right wearing a shirt from a time I wasn't even born (anything pre '84). If they re-release the 1994 black, green and red striped away kit I'll be in there like a shot! :winkold: I'll buy this season's shirt when it's reduced in the summer.
