  1. Completely agree. Gareth Barry gave us more appearances/goals/assists and loyalty than Jack has - and look at how he was treated on his return to VP. Also Barry didn't pedal us with the "my club" rhetoric nearly as much either. For all of Jack's so-called 'loyalty' he's now pushed for moves to Tottenham, United and City in 3 of the last 4 summers... I want him to stay (obviously), but if he does go I won't hold him in any great affection - just another good player who's won nothing here. I'll wish him an injury free career (hopefully) rotting on Man City's bench scrabbling for minutes. Sadly, I think that's unlikely and I bet he'll take the league by storm.

Yep, is mad isn’t it. Especially when you think Targett is probably only behind Shaw + Chilwell (you can make an argument for Cresswell being third choice LB for England - but he played most of last season as LCB in a back 3 and I think Targett edges it anyway). But Cash is behind: Walker Trippier Reece James Alexander-Arnold Wan-Bissaka And, as you said, is competing with Lamptey / Max Aarons / James Justin for 6th/7th place. Most of that list is younger than him too. It’s really unlucky as I don’t think there is much between Targett and Cash at all.
  4. Are we allowed to post streams in here? As I have a nice link
  5. They need a centre back desperately, but I thought Hugo was one of their best players last season.
  6. Mount was poor for the goal too, slow to react. Was shite all game mind, so fitting.
  7. Won us the game against Germany. Rewarded by getting completely dropped vs. Ukraine and double subbed vs. Denmark. How Mount stayed on for 98 minutes I’ll never know, he was awful.
  8. I actually think he tries to do too much when he first comes on. When he settles into the game and starts playing like he does for Villa, he’s class.
  9. Kane is England’s captain, penalty taker and best player. He was never coming off. I’m also really surprised people think he played badly, but hey ho. If you’re going to 5 at the back, it’s Grealish or Foden coming off. Nothing else makes sense. Foden had played even less than Jack. I’d have kept Jack on - but can’t argue with Southgate. The Danes barely had a sniff in ET.
  10. He’s been booked once all tournament. Not sure he’s a red card risk - but do agree he’s going to struggle against that Italian midfield. Jorginho/Veratti are so comfortable on the ball and can both beat the press with quick passing easily. Will be a big test for Mount/Phillips and Rice and where the game is won/lost. The Italy back four can be exposed in my opinion. Their full backs are poor (with Emerson starting now) and their centre halves are slow. I’m not too concerned by Immobile/Chiesa either - don’t think either are particularly special. Insigne is a good player but I wonder if Southgate will go 3-4-3 to double-up on him with Walker/Trippier.
  11. Their triple sub at 1-1 was a bit strange. I do feel like they lost all their momentum at that point and England bossed the game from there on. With 6 subs allowed, you shouldn’t really be playing with 10 men due to an injury.
  12. You’re right, apologies! Just watched it back. Mount fouls Dolberg and then from that free kick Shaw is penalised for grappling with Christensen. Both soft - but the ref was pretty consistent giving them all game to Kane/Sterling too. Do you think VAR overturns the pen in the PL?
  13. It was Shaw but it wasn’t a shirt pull. His arm connected with Dolberg’s face when he was jostling for the ball. The ref was giving them all game tbf. Yes a bit soft and Dolberg milked it - but not surprised it was given.
  14. I remember Vestegaard crumpling into a heap at the slightest contact to his face from Sterling too. Let’s not pretend Denmark are some footballing purity and above the antics. England deserved to win (as expected). Denmark just don’t have the strength in depth England have. They’ve done well to get this far, fair play to them. Their subs were always significant downgrades (Jensen on for Delaney, Norgaard on for Dalberg, etc) and England just looked fresher. England’s depth has allowed them to rotate more throughout the tournament. We still had two subs we could use - just didn’t need to.
  15. It was a soft penalty and I’d hate to see it given the other way - but England were battering them at that point. The last 10 of full time and the first 15 minutes of ET were a siege. A goal was coming regardless imo.
  16. “I hate the booing of national anthems. England fans are shit.” Just two independent sentences then?
  17. I was at the Spain / Italy game. They both booed each other’s national anthems… Not an ‘English’ thing and as if people get in a tizz over it, who cares
  18. Sterling has missed more penalties than he’s scored in his career.
  19. Football is a game of opinions, so not saying you are wrong…. But I really think this is a utterly bizarre take on the game . I thought Kane was fantastic on the ball all game. Won numerous free kicks, great through ball to Saka for his assist and an even better pass to Sterling to a 1:1 too.
  20. You were trying to pick at England. You said they only scored from an og and a penalty - like that somehow detracts from their performance when they dominated all game. My point was that they outplayed Denmark, who cares how England scored their goals. England xG of 3.18 vs. 0.27 for Denmark. Obviously I wish he started Grealish instead of Saka (and that he didn’t humiliate him by bringing him off). The result justifies his decision. I doubt Jack sees any time in the final as I think Foden has now usurped him tbh.
  21. Lol England were by the far the better team - who cares how they scored their goals. Denmark scored a free kick from 30 yards and what. Yea, bad man management. Jack looks like an idiot. But end of the day Southgate doesn’t care - results justify the means.
  22. Was hoping he'd go Grealish/Foden, but expected as much. Looking more and more like Grealish only started his one game due to Mount's isolation. Would've expected his performance off the bench against Germany to have earnt him a start ahead of Sancho/Saka - but apparently not. Can't argue with the results so far though.
  23. I think all three of your CBs are good players tbh (Vestegaard too) but I agree, not an obvious improvement on Maguire/Stones - but not necessarily worse either. This tournament is the first time I've seen Maehle play, but he has looked a good player. It was a great assist vs. the Czechs. All the best for Wednesday and I hope you play well (but not too well).
  24. I know the game isn't played on paper - but how many of the Danish players do you think would get into the English XI? Possibly Kasper instead of Pickford, but there's not much in it. I can't think of too many others. Bellingham kept Delaney out of the Dortmund team last year and can barely get off the bench for England. I think the Danes have done fantastically well to get this far - especially after what happened to Eriksen - but if Southgate loses this it's a shocking result for us.
