I'm confident that we wont go down, having looked at our games, the point difference and the games the other teams have left.
It is however depressing and totally unacceptable that we are even talking about relegation at this time of the season. Absolutely pathetic how this club is run and how terrible we've been all season. This season is slowly killing my enthusiasm for football and another season with McLeish will be unbearable to watch.
There is not a chance in hell that McLeish will play anything other than the most defensive set up possible and forbid our players to go over their halfway line. United will score inside the first ten minutes and the game will be over. Have faith anyone?
VILLA: Given, Hutton, Collins, Baker, Lichaj, Herd, Ireland, Bannan, Warnock, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
Subs: Guzan, N’Zogbia, Cuellar, Johnson, Carruthers, Gardner, Heskey
Weimann in for Heskey and Cuellar on the bench (surely not fully fit then?!)
It's not just the sitting back bit it's the complete lack of ball retention that bugs me. We really can't seem to string more than three passes together before we decide to hoof it or do something stupid.
I'm happy with a point but I can't stand hearing shit like this. We were playing Liverpool who have been absolutely shit for a couple of months at least. Yes, I know that we have a lot of injuries but don't try to make it out that this was some brilliant performance and point.
Yes it was a good point but we were very lucky. Thanks to the teams around us losing it looks like we are going to be safe this season.
And no Suarez did not cost Liverpool more than the side we put out today!!!
Liverpool bought Suarez for 22.8 million pounds.
Given 3.5m
Hutton 3m
Heskey 3.5m
Ireland 8m (17m + Ireland = 25m pounds for James Milner)
James Collins 5m
Warnock 6-8m
That equals 29-31m pounds. Just to have the facts right.
Normally I wouldn't miss a Villa game but I can't be bothered today, I know what McLeish will serve up. Gonna play some badminton instead, guaranteed to be much more fun.
Papiss Cisse is unbelievable!
Swansea have had about 70% possession but they're not doing anything with it and everything they do is too slow. Newcastle show exactly how you should defend against Swansea; Let Caulker and Williams have the bulk of the possession and allow them to go up the pitch with the ball while closing down the midfield three.
Swansea need to drastically change their game plan if they want anything from this game.
It would take a month for Agbonlahor to work out 'McLeish Out' let alone any anagram of it. He isn't the brightest button in the box and now he's been made Captain!!
Gabby has thought for the past months that McLeish has come out of the closet. It's been awkward.
