Obviously still quite raw, with plenty of sloppiness and mistakes, im sure emphasised with 2nd string players. But how refreshing is it to see us actually have a shape and the players know where each other should be.

Won’t be watching a game, know it won’t make a difference and they won’t care in the slightest but it what it is. Won’t be telling people to turn it off if I visit and they are watching it but I won’t be putting it on myself or going to venues with the purpose to watch it etc. At least with Southgate in charge I know I won’t be missing much.

Some players may surprise us today, I’ve firmly subscribed to the camp we couldn’t really judge anyone under Gerrard’s “management”. Combination of Emery giving people a shot, who knows what he’s seen in training, and resting players for a game in 3 days time.
