  1. It would open up the area below the expressway from the Aston Inn to the Aston Tavern with a route from Aston Station to a new fantasy ground. Spurs are the obvious example, given they are to build residential towers, a hotel and extreme sports hub, college and offices in an area smaller than the hypothetical area I highlighted. Add in an imax and the small concert venue it would turn a run down suburban area into a thriving rejuvenated part of Birmingham which Brummies would want to visit outside of Villa games.
  2. The amount of apartments, hotel beds, offices, retail, recreational and community facilities which could be built within the highlighted area would be a massive catalyst for regeneration and could also get government levelling up funding towards the wider area. It would add value to the remaining houses.
  3. You mean CPO the land which some find unfavourable for some reason.
  4. Reducing the amount of vehicular traffic is paramount to any move. Just posted it to show that’s the only site currently listed openly by the council which would be big enough.
  5. Often see posts relating to land sales from the broke ass council. You can search all the properties for sale / let currently from the council and they’ve currently 42 listed with only one being a suitable size is , Peddimore Lane, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, B76 9AA. Worth noting not that far from the belfry & Bodymoor Heath and motorways but not near a train station. Not sure what other property they own which would be suitable size and location.
  6. And ? He’s part of history now being part of a potentially invincible team, he’s only 22 and can easily see him staying there for another season and then he’ll have his pick no doubt of the top tier elite teams. He also isn’t what we need right now IMO based on other more pressing positions. I can see us going for Sergi Roberto whose contract is a most up bit think they’ve got a year option. Versatile, vastly experienced, cheap and we have Kosta, Konsa, Cash & KHH so why spend £40mill on another one ?
  7. Why would frimpong leave Leverkusen for us at this point in his career ?
  8. CPO’s should only ever be used for the greater good and to serve more people than they harm and though unfortunate for those involved they will be compensated accordingly. I’ve no issue with that. But only to facilitate a ground move if the area surrounding the stadium benefits locals just as much as fans. I don’t think it’s necessarily appropriate though to use them just to expand the Witton without.
  9. Apparently our sleeve sponsor is worth £2mill to Man Utd’s & Citehs £20mill … Surely we’ll be able to triple it at least this summer.
  10. There looks to be plenty of land around the BBC development which is ripe as they aren’t taking over all of it. Back to VP if they were to stay they’d have to CPO the area to build anything worthwhile around the stadium and expand the Witton. If we do stay I can see them buying up Majestics and the Holte Hotel and turning them into soft hospitality areas bars / restaurants.
  11. Posted before but the goal post supports are ripe for something like this Or trinity lounge tower blazoned with coke red graphic video screen. Coca Cola Villa Park
  12. I think given the way we do things out of the limelight if they were working on something they’d be NDA’s galore in place to restrict any leaks. I’d also expect if they were thinking of building a new stadium then someone like Manica, BIG, or Populous would be used and we would see definitive designs of the finished proposal and not some speculative pie in the sky, “I don’t know if we’re going to go with the spaceship look, but I think it gives you a strong idea of what our intent is.” BS rendering ala SHA.
  13. Seems the most plausible explanation based on the vacuum of info since.
  14. Interesting timing of the new appointment from someone from Orascom whose background is in large infrastructure projects. Why wait for the Atairos deal ratification as he could’ve been appointed any time over the past 5 years unless they are now looking to lean on his knowledge & expertise. Doesn’t prove a move away is anymore likely but it does raise the question why now IMO.
  15. Wow and there I was trying to defend you earlier … Have you seen spurs fixtures compared to ours - they play two London derbies in Arsenal then Chelsea followed with Liverpool and next then is Burnley, Citeh & finally sheff utd. We have Bournemouth, Chelsea, Brighton then plop and finally palace. Which of the two would you rather have ? We’ve just beaten Arsenal for the second time this season and you hope we’ll get two more wins this season … ok
  16. A chunk of those games were under the fraud that is Gerrard so probs would’ve beaten it already if it wasn’t for those dark days
  17. Let’s not be too harsh on @CVByrne we are all Villa fans at the end of the day. I mean he spouts negativity and seems to care more about being proven right and Villa to fail but hopefully now he’ll see the light and just enjoys the ride.
  18. It’s a 15 min walk or shuttle bus 4mins traffic dependent … but get the point
  19. I think what happened with the Buckingham Group at Fulham & Plop is fresh in contractors mind and has a scared a lot of firms and that should subside in time. I trust the board to have done the math and looked at the business case from all angles and will do what’s best when the appropriate time is right for the club.
  20. But it wouldn’t be their money used to build the stadium it would be the clubs via loans & bonds and it would increase the value of their asset. You’re right though about it not making initial sense right now. Maybe in a year or two who 20 no one knows…
  21. So you would rather a stand further back from the pitch akin to the Olympic stadium / murrayfield just cause the Holte was built way past the touchline ? It would be an awful View from the last row of the top tier.
