  1. Bolton stay down, they're a bigger club than SHA.
  2. Go back a decade and Swansea/Southampton were what Brighton were in the premier league.
  3. Watch them just give it to Pep. Or Ange. No seriously I think Emery will win if we get top 4 + win a trophy which is very possible. Not like we even spent that much in the summer either compared to other clubs and we've had 5-6 serious injuries to key players ourselves and just got on with it rather than crying about it every five minutes like Ten Hag has.
  4. Just telling all the world his release clause! Is Pino still seen as a prospect or has he stagnated in recent times? Think there's a few we could possibly pick up on loan. Unai had Chukuweze at Villareal, he moved to AC Milan but has been warming the bench all season so that could be a loan I think. Bryan Zaragoza at Bayern Munich another.
  5. McGinn used to score about three a season for us. If we'd put him in the market in summer 2022 I bet we'd still have been asking for 30m +. Gallagher is still pretty young so I believe some of the weaker parts of his game could be refined under a manager as good as Emery.
  6. What needs to be remembered is Spurs have played in the CL 7-8 times in the last 15 years so it's simply not the big thing for them it will be for us in qualifying. I think most are just happy they're playing decent football again after the bore years of Mourinho/Conte/Nuno. Looking at their forums and they certainly don't want "Woolwich" "Goons" "The Flith" winning the league so will be arms crossed and muted response when likes of Son and Johnson are running towards goal in that game for sure.
  7. 2014 was the same. Would've gone down if they'd lost but came back from 2-0 down at Bolton in 90th minute. Even then Doncaster would've stayed up matching that result but they lost 1-0 at already promoted Leicester....10 years on Blackburn are at Leicester... 2017 they had to win at Bristol City and did. If they draw they would've been relegated as Blackburn (under Mowbray) won their final match. The other seasons I think they were safe on the final day even if they had terrible form in the run ins. As said above they can't really survive with a draw this time unless Plymouth's defence totally implodes so they'll have to go for it at some stage and Norwich have plenty of pace and quality in their attack to exploit that.
  8. We can still score at the other end though? I really don't think the second half was much to do with him at all. I mean we had the Brentford second half collapse with Emi in goal so it's very easy to say he'd just save the Gallagher shot when he likely wouldn't. Great reading some of the forums today, majority of Spurs fans couldn't care less if Man. City beat them to stop Arsenal winning the game so to me that's one less game to worry about in the run in as will be a very flat atmosphere at their ground on the night. They need to win at Chelsea imo otherwise it's all but over.
  9. Joao Pedro was one, signed him for 30m. They needed to sign a CM for that amount but didn't and it's cost them as the season has gone on.
  10. Chelsea have lost one game at home since October. They've played likes of Arsenal and Man.City in that time. Bigger shock would be Spurs winning that.
  11. Maddison has really gone downhill since his injury, wouldn't shock me if they benched him soon like they did with Bissouma today. Werner also turned out exactly like he was at Chelsea. Their best bet for the run in is to bring back Richarlison as their best form has come with him as CF, move Son back to the left and have Kuluveski as the number 10 or bring in another CM.
  12. Yes I completely wrote him off going into November. Incredible form since then. Also barely had Tyler Adams and Alex Scott available all season so they'll be like new signings for central midfield next year.
  13. Yep record v them since coming up is played 11, won 6, drawn 4 and lost 1. Scored 18 in those games and conceded 7 so we're even more of a bogey team to them than Wolves and West Ham are to us in last five years.
  14. Spurs could beat Burnley and Sheffield United 40-0 in each game. It does not matter one bit to us if they get 0 points from Chelsea, Liverpool and Man. City. Arsenal win today also means Man. City unlikely to go into the Spurs game with the title race over, think Arsenal would need to lose their next two for it to be mathematical which I can't see happening.
  15. Brighton just want the season to end now. Form collapsed now and they were playing a couple of kids today so a very good time in the season to play them. And our record v them since coming up in 2019 is sensational, think it's only one defeat in 11 games so we're in their heads anyway.
  16. It would be the old "He's British, overpriced and would run around a lot without taking us to the next level" etc. Those are all things you would've said about McGinn two years ago and look at how he's improved his game understanding under a competent manager. He'd have still gone for 30m + if we'd sold him in summer 2022. By today's standards he wouldn't even cost that much, probably 40m will get him this summer. I think we need to continue making sure we sign players who actually want to play for us rather than coming here for a massive payday. Last year the forum was fawning at being linked to Ferran Torres and Joao Felix but in reality neither were interested in signing for us and now they both play for Barca so fair enough. Nico Williams I think could be another. Or he could just stay at Bilbao for a few more years as they'll be playing europa league at least. Pau Torres however certainly did want to play for Unai again so that's exactly the type we need, wants to come for a new challenge and improve under the Don and in mid 20s bracket. A Torres for DM to keep that ticking over under Kamara is fit again would be perfect and the summer signing we most need.
  17. Blame myself for that. Started watching when Arsenal were 3-0 up and you could already see them being over-elaborate in their moves around the box. In the end they just about got things done but it was very tight and they probably wouldn't if Spurs had got the penalty ten minutes earlier. Spurs were only playing two at the back for most of the last 15 minutes and Arsenal couldn't string any passing moves together with Havertz lumbering around. However the most important thing is this. It's another weekend where we've actually extended the gap between 4th-5th. We started weekend six points ahead and now it's seven. If it goes to even eight by close of play next Sunday then to me it's pretty much over as then Spurs would have to beat Man. City to have any chance and they won't be doing that as it will hand Arsenal the league.
  18. They've still only lost one league game at Anfield in over a year. Far more vulnerable on the road as yesterday and the Merseyside derby proved. We need to show a bit more ambition against them and get plenty of set pieces in the final third as Van Dijk can't cover everyone.
  19. Well yes of course given we went 4-0 up there by half time without breaking sweat. However with Brereton Diaz they are actually starting to score a few themselves. Of course Spurs could win by a fair few but it's completely different to actually having to do it with no margin for error. Currently eight off us in GD and you'd fancy Man. City and Liverpool to stick a few past them with how they play. Spurs-Burnley will also be far closer than a month ago. Burnley actually have a chance of staying up now, just 2 points off 17th.
  20. Beating Arsenal twice without conceding a goal is certainly a magnificent achievement this season. I don't think it's a given Man. City actually win all their remaining games so Arsenal could easily win the league so to double the double over them is some going.
  21. Even two draws would mean Spurs would have to take 4 points from Chelsea, Liverpool and Man. City.
  22. At Anfield. I'm not sure why you keep posting like this. Playing Liverpool at Anfield is a totally different beast to them on their own ground. We have a far more favourable run in than Spurs. They also won't have much recovery time going into that Liverpool match playing Chelsea on the Thursday evening "who won't turn up against them."
  23. Classic Spurs. I get the feeling they won't beat anyone aside from Burnley and Sheffield United so whisper it quietly but we might have already enough points in the bag to have secured 4th. If their plan is to be three points off us on the final day they'll have to beat Sheffield United 10-0 at this rate to catch up the GD.
  24. Yep. If Spurs draw then the gap remains six points with one fewer round left. If Spurs then draw at Chelsea and lose to Liverpool and we get a point at Brighton then it also stays six. Infact I'd say there's more chance we'd increase the gap to 7-8 points personally. With then three rounds remaining we'd be huge favourites to make it as Spurs would then have to win their final three to have any chance of 4th.
  25. Brighton were playing very well in the run in last season...went to Arsenal and won 3-0 so it wasn't a huge shock and they did draw 1-1 down there. Understandable they rested players on the final day given they were in two finals. This season it will just be one and Spurs isn't actually the final game so not sure why they'd just rest everyone for that so it will still be a very strong line up still out. Spurs need wins to catch us not draws...If they drew all four games v top 6 and also drew v Burnley then they'd finish on 67 points most likely so they'll go for it and that will leave even more space on the counter attack for likes of Man. City and Arsenal to exploit.
