  1. They're very likely to finish 8th or 9th now. Surely that's humiliation enough as that would be their lowest finish since the mid 1980s. Can also see Man. City beating them more comfortably in the cup final than last year, probably a 3-0 or 4-1 job.
  2. He did that and he wasn't even one of the five penalty takers?! Guy costs 80m and just refuses responsibility.
  3. They also haven't scored past us in the last three at Stamford Bridge so we just need to defend a bit better than in the cup game which really shouldn't be that hard as we were way below that night.
  4. In the cup we played all 4 CMs in both games. So with that thinking Luiz will return and Diaby will likely drop out. Or Bailey with the injury might be saved for Olympiakos. Can put out 8 CMs but one of them needs to actually track Conor Gallagher this time and not just let him get free shots from 20 yards out this time.
  5. Eze is a wonderful footballer, one of my favourites to watch in the league. I wonder if Arsenal might make a move if they sell a few of their squad players, him and Odegaard in the same midfield would be ridiculous. Man. United want Olise and he'd probably be cheaper than Mount and ten times more effective.
  6. Pretty sure previously they've moved Porro out to LB previously. However he also went off injured v Newcastle so not sure if he's in contention. Udogie is a contender for team of the season so big boost for us he can't feature anymore for them this season.
  7. Pretty much the perfect performance without actually scoring today. His hold up play was beautiful to watch. Touch was perfect. A threat throughout with his runs off Zabrayni (who's a decent CB) and a couple of excellent assists. This is where he's improved so much from 18 months ago where a game without scoring would mean him missing a couple of one on ones and losing the ball too much in the final third. He's genuinely one of the best in the league now. Southgate needs to be sent to the tower and locked away if he choses Toney with his 5 games in 12 months or Rashford over him as that would just defy any logic whatsoever.
  8. Shows there is life after Luiz whenever that time comes.
  9. Their defence is far better with Silva in it as he's the only one who actually talks and organises them. Think it's good for us they have Arsenal midweek as even with his excellent fitness he'll struggle to get through both games at nearly 40. I can see this being 2-2 and after winning our last two it won't be a disaster even if some make out it will be as usual.

    Chelsea

Yep him, Sterling and Mudryk are all terrible one on one finishers so cost Chelsea countless games when they've been dominating. Just watch highlights of their two defeats to Wolves this season and some of Sterling's finishing in that is league one standard.
  11. He also made a bad error in the return match that was overlooked with all the chaos on the pitch and in the stands. Was beaten to the ball and let Horsfield with a tap in.
  12. Don't think I've seen a signing from the lower leagues improve so much in about a month as he has. First few weeks he was struggling on the ball and out of possession (West Ham away) but he looks fully at home in the prem now, ball was glued to his feet for most of the first half and was an excellent finish at key moment in the game.
  13. I think Sheff Weds will beat Sunderland so as long as that happens they're down with two draws. Even 49 points won't be enough if Plymouth and Blackburn draw another game. Intrigued how they play the Huddersfield game now as get the feeling Rowett was going to set them up like yesterday but he'll have to rethink that now. They'll have to take risks earlier on and Huddersfield do have pace out wide and upfront if nothing else.
  14. The Young handball should've been given based on what we've seen this season. Close range but in an unnatural position and it's going straight to Wood. They've had some bad calls with that late Liverpool goal but let's be honest the whole strategy around the club is bonkers. They've had I think four keepers this season and Selz looks as bad as the two in the first half of the season, went down in instalments for Gana's grasscutter. Origi aswell, what was the point of signing him as he's miles past it at prem level. That transfer strategy has cost them four points so that will relegate them more than bad decisions.
  15. We played both games without Pau and Konsa was out for the VP match. Have those two at CB in both games next season and we'll take 4 points at worse.
  16. Surely it will be even tougher for Spurs playing them away. A draw is fine v Chelsea if Spurs then lose to Chelsea as they now need to make up three games on us.
  17. We beat Chelsea and they lose to Arsenal and Chelsea at the Bridge and we can basically wrap up 4th at Brighton. Would have us 12 ahead and they'd then have to beat Liverpool and Man. City to have any chance (and even then we'd just need a point). Was a tough opening 40 minutes but the performance after was sensational really. This team has the hunger and bottle to secure CL before the end of the season and win our first trophy for nearly 30 years don't worry about that given what we've seen in the last week.
  18. They've got Maddison attempting GBH on opposition players every game currently aswell. And Romero.
  19. Chelsea played well and should've won. They will cause us problems with their off the ball movement and incisive midfield passing. However if the ball isn't falling to Palmer in the box you just never think they'll score at key moment as Jackson, Sterling and Mydryk have wasted so many presentable scoring chances this season.
  20. We've had far far worse, he was lightyears ahead of Tonev who's a contender for worst ever 11. I think the problem with Trez is people saw him hitting double figures in Turkey and due to our three years in exile forgot how tough the premier league actually was. I remember in the pre season people were lauding him as this ultra quick wide player so I think in the opening few weeks when he was struggling to beat for pace quick premier league FBs people were raging he wasn't the second coming of Mbappe. He had his limitations but he had a great knack of gambling on stuff at the back post and that got us goals that won us crucial points. He cost us less than 9m which seemed like big money at the time coming back up but put into perspective by what has been spent in last five years.
  21. Not quite, there was no football in April 2020 due to covid. Forgot about his Leicester goal, that was some moment!
  22. Sunderland given up for the season, lost to Millwall at home today and also 5-1 to Blackburn two weeks ago so that's a good final day opponent for Sheff Weds unless Sunderland appoint a manager in the next week as that perked Rotherham up today. Their task now is to make sure it means something on the final day. SHA will go down if they draw their last two and Sheff Weds get 5 points from their last 3 games so win tomorrow would be huge for them.
  23. I think Sheff Weds will beat Sunderland on the last day who are very much on the beach now. So can they beat one of West Brom or Blackburn? I wouldn't rule it out. 7 points is probably too optimistic but in that scenario SHA would need to win both games to be sure of staying up.
  24. Norwich have Swansea next week so not a given they win that. Swansea and Bristol City similar level. I'd say they'd still rather finish 5th than 6th aswell. If the journalists are doing their jobs they'd also bombard Wagner with questions about his team selection with Huddersfield in 2017 so I'd like to think he'd play a decent team just to stick two fingers up to anyone questioning his integrity.
