  1. Which of our good players would look average in other sides?
  2. 2007/8 we lost 10 league games 2008/9 we lost 10 league games 2009/10 we lost 6 league games. It seems that as people can't complain about points total or league position they need something to have a go at the manager about. What teams play consistent attractive football and are dominant? Man u and Chelsea aren't always great to watch but they get the job done, arsenal are great to watch and haven't looked a threat to the title for ages. I thought city played better football than spurs last season but spurs way was more effective. We don't play like arsenal but we're no where near as bad as some try to make out.
  3. I keep reading about our style of football being a reason to get rid. Yes we played more attractive a couple of seasons ago but now we've lost less games, done better in cup competitons and got closer to 4th spot. Changing our style has made us a lot harder to beat and got us closer to the top 4. I thought only people wearing black and White football shirts cared more about performances than results.
  4. You don't expect people to think before they make ridiculous claims do you?
  5. Easy. If Randy can appoint a better manager than MOn as easy as that why has he not done so already? Richard that is always your argument and it get boring, with regards to players, transfers, and all other things Villa. There are many variables that come into situations like this. MAYBE he has not done so already because he has loyalty to MON, etc etc, but is becoming fed up? So he has loyalty to MON and is getting fed up but he's more than happy to risk his investment getting worse? He's happy to risk going backwards after all the money he has spent in the last 4 years? If Randy was fed up with MON and thought he could easily bring in someone better right now then MON would be gone. Randy has shown with the browns he has no problems getting rid of coaches who don't perform so lets not pretend that randy has some man crush on MON and can't bring himself to part with him.
  6. And if he doesn't sign anyone this summer? You have comprehended that yes, or is it just not going to happen? If he doesn't sign anyone this summer then that would be down to randy as i can't believe for one second that MON won't want to. Do you not get bored of always focussing on the worst case scenario only for it to never happen?
  7. We'd be an absolute joke if we sacked the manager after last season so of course my answer is yes. And in response to a post on the first page, do you really think the prem is so weak that a manager can finish 6th 3 times in a row and finish 6 points off 4th place by just hoping for the best?
  8. Yeah like when we overpaid for dunne and Collins. Actually could you name me a player we overpaid for at the end of august because MOn left things late (again)
  9. Maybe this is still all part of nasty o'neils big plan to push poor little jimmy out of the club he loves. I still don't trust the situation!!
  10. Haha I've missed you risso. You're probably right in terms of CEO being involved in this transfer. My point was more towards the opinion that when dealing with things like wages MON is on his own and no one else has an opinion.
  11. Are we talking again? Yay!!! Huggles. I'm sure randy and MON make the big decisions but I'd be surprised if no one else at the club was involved in the finer details of contracts and payments.
  12. Does this also not show that we are not relying on the milner money to buy other players? As if we are I'm surprised randy and Mon are so keen to stick to their original valuation
  13. Hang on wasn't there a good few pages on this thread all about MON trying to push Milner out the door? I wonder if those people will carry on complaining using that theory to justify it? I'm glad we take this stance, we have good players and I'm sure we will continue to buy good players and standing up to the likes of Liverpool and city really does send out an excellent message. Oh and it's nice to hear that randy and the chief exec are heavily involved in transfers. Maybe now we can stop putting the sole blame for wages on just the manager and make out that poor randy has no idea.
  14. Like who? Also isn't it a bit difficult considering that 99% of the squad are o'neil signings for him to drop a player and replace them with someone who isn't one of his signings. I think gabby has also shown that this is 't the case as he's been one of the first players on the teamsheet since MON arrived at the club
  15. I know i shouldn't want city to do well but whenever i read a comment from a spurs fan i just can't wait for city to finish above them next year. It would be horrible if spurs were in the champions league more than once.
  16. I wouldn't care how we played if we won a trophy or finished 4th. Like merson said, trophies and medals say champions not entertainers.
  17. Did we use that excuse last year? We managed to compete well in two cups and maintain a fight for 4th all the way to the end.
  18. It's annoying and frustrating but like others have said we can't boo him. If he was as bad as heskey we'd all be hammering him and offering to drive him places. It's a shame he wants to go but we'll get good money for him. I think the Barry situation was different, Barry had the chance to be the kind of player you tell your grandkids about, he could have been a true villa legend if he'd stayed and I don't think money is worth ruining the chance of that. Not many players get to be legends at clubs as big as ourselves
  19. If it wasn't these players then it would be others we'd be talking about getting rid of who are being paid too much because we are never going to just sign players that work out and continue to be good enough as we progress and we're not going to sign players on low wages because they'll just go elsewhere. It's just not possible to go from where we were to where we are now buying a whole new squad and not have players on high wages who are no longer wanted.
  20. Sidwell was excellent at reading and signed by mourinho NRC was u21 captain Davies was being spoken as the next rio Ferdinand Heskey was in good form when we needed a striker. Now these signings haven't worked perfectly but do people think these players didn't have other options? We gave them good wages so they'd pick us over other teams. I'm afraid we're not a club that's somattractive players will be prepared to be paid less in order to play for them. We're never going to sign all good players that work out so we'll always have players that need to move on on high wages. I'm sure spurs, city and Liverpool have the same. I think randy does want those played sold but I'd be very surprised if he is looking to replace MON because of it. And as for Milner, I'm not worried, we showed with Barry that we will make sure we get what we want or he won't be going
  21. Didn't we have to wait for distin to join everton and Lescott to join city before we could sign dunne? Didn't Blackburn also make it clear that we had to wait for them to sign a replacement before we could sign warnock? Do people think fees have been agreed and players are ready to sign but MON makes the decision to delay it till after the season started?
  22. Yes true comedy gold. Who are all these players that have been thrown under the bus?
  23. This just sounds like some random conspiracy theory though. The facts are milner could have made it clear but he chose not to. Man city have made it clear that they want milner, MON has said milner wants to leave. Why has milner kept quiet if he wants to stay and is being pushed out?
