So how can you be so sure Mon isn't trying to force the sale through himself....jockeying for the best price. If I had of bought some of the dross he has, I would be pretty interested in raising some doe to get me out of the mess....because RL has made it clear- sort it out yourself. In my view.... I've said it on another page, there is just no common sense behind thinking MON is trying to force milner out. 1) It would piss off most of the fans to know that such a good player was being forced out 2) It would piss off other players at the club to know that the manager and owner are happy to push out one of the best players, why would any ambitious players want to play for a club like this? 3) Why would randy allow this to happen and threaten the success of his investment? What good can come out of MON forcing a player who doesn't want to leave out of the club?

Which players has he said this about? And you honestly believe MON signs players late so he can have an excuse ready? And people seriously tell me that no one has an axe to grind with the manager on here no - but i dont believe he helps himself by leaving everything he does so late anyway, thats unlike you to selectively quote someone and then criticise other posters... i was talking about mon, why are you talking about me? My god some are so desperate for this to be true so they can justify abusing the manager they can't think straight. Why on earth would randy allow this to happen and at the same time allow other important first team players to be pissed off and threaten his investment? Why would MON risk his job and his reputation by forcing one of the clubs best players and most popular players to leave? Why would MON risk ruining the things he's built at villa by doing this? Do you not think if milner wanted to stay and was being pushed out of the club that other first team players would not be pissed off? apart from telling the world the player wants to join the team we're tryin to get as much money out of as possible? or telling everyone that hes not going to sign a new contract, meaning that this summer is the last one where we'll get reasonably big money for him? or telling everyone that we're deseperate for citys money to sign new players? or giving city the green light to sit on their hands for as long as they like and leave us with an unhappy player who the manager has publically fallen out with in our pre season squad, while disrupting our plans to sign anyone by leaving any increased offer til the last minute? apart from all that? How is that any different to the situation with liverpool and barry and how did making it public that barry could go for the right place allow liverpool to then get him on the cheap? I'd love to know.

They will get him cheaper than was originally indicated if they still want him, because of Mons comments two days ago. That was a give me the money plea if ever I've heard one (even if it's far less than we thought we might get). He said the same about barry and liverpool didn't get him for cheaper than our valuation.

MON has also said that we won't sell unless man city meet our valuation, thats hardly the comments of a desperate man. Do you think city will get milner on the cheap because of these comments?

MON made it clear that Barry could go to Liverpool for the right price and I don't remember that doing us any harm or making us weaker.

Why would milner allow himself to be bad mouthed in the press if this was all made up by MON? I think Milner wants to leave, MON has made that clear and the papers are trying to create new interest in a story that has been going on for 2 months.

Its only the people who are desperate for it to be true that seem to believe it though.

I'm sorry but if James Milner was really worried about being left out to dry then why not phone any of the papers and give them a couple of quotes and the situation is instantly resolved. If its true that he wants to stay and MON is making shit up in order to push him out the club then the fans would certainly be on his side as i would imagine most of the first team squad would be and it would leave MON in an unworkable situation.

Well if you're foolish enough to believe milner really wants to stay and mean old Martin is forcing him out then i can see why you're disappointed.

I can't believe some are so quick to jump on the managers back over this. What kind of message would it send to the rest of the squad if milner didn't want to leave and MON was trying to force him? Why would MON risk pissing off most of his important players in order to get milner to leave? Why would randy allow MON to risk losing other players when they hear that the manager would go to the press and lie about them in order to push them out of the club? Why would a manager who has a great reputation for his man management skills go and throw all that out the window and risk being hated and untrusted by his team? It would be such a stupid move on behalf of MON if he told the press that milner wants to leave when its completely untrue.

I wouldn't have him back if he was playing superb and would easily be our best player. The fact he's player just ok and was made to look foolish in the world cup just adds to the fact I don't want him back

I'd imagine Milner was quite popular in the villa dressing room and I'd imagine that the likes of young, downing, gabby, dunne, delph etc.. Wouldn't want to play for a club that forces not only their mate out but also one of the teams best players. It would be a ridiculous move from the club to try and force him out. If true I'm sure we'll see some angry comments from other players soon.

If Milner made it clear that he wants to leave then MON can say what he wants. No shock some are jumping to the defence of the player who doesn't actually want to play for THEIR club

We didn't give in over Barry so I'm sure we'll stay strong with the price we want with Milner. And like Barry I really don't think we'll miss milner next year.

Who has said we shouldn't try? There is a chance we could finish above them, however the fact they can buy a squad full of better players than us certainly makes it a small chance. I think everyone wants to finish above city and spurs and finish 4th its just that some of us can see thats its a difficult task to achieve and moaning about not achieving it is just stupid.

Petrov has played champions league football and international football, two things NRC will never do. Petrov is captain and regular first team player for a team challenging for 4th place and playing in Europe, something else NRC will never do.

Whereas Stan would walk into Chelski or Manure in your mind?? Well I didn't sat that. However petrov is captain of our teammand I doubt NRC will ever become captain or such a regular player for a team as good as or better than us
